Happy 10th Anniversary c99!

On this day 10 years ago, at 7:17 PM, I officially logged into my admin account after it was uploaded to our server. That was the start of it all and here we are still standing!

Thanks to everyone hanging with us, figuratively not literally, heh.

Happy 10th Anniversary c99!

PS: I have some big news pertaining to c99, but I'm going to keep you in suspense and wait until my Friday open thread to clue you all in.

Anyhow, you are the greatest around here. Stay that way. For us it is never ending pleasure to be allowed to belong to this great family of way too smart folks.

Thanks from the bottom of my heart.

@studentofearth

Thanks, JtC for all the time and effort you have put into running c99. I came across c99 a year and a half after its launch and since then have considered it home and all the members as family.

PS: Waiting in anticipation to see if your Friday announcement is what I hope it is.

some day I need to write about what it's like running a blog for so many years. All I'll say right now is it changes you.

Several of us here go back further than 10 years. I started hanging out at The Evening Blues when it was on DKos around 2010 or so, so we go back at least 15 years. And a few of us go back even further to my Docudharma, writingintheraw, Wild Wild Left and Firefly Dreaming days. Wow!

Thank you, you've been a good friend.

from the bottom of my heart.

I too was at GOS and participated with admin for awhile. I am so greatful someone here invited me over.

When it was working DK was a great place to hone writing and integrated media skills. The ecology diaries were great. I have seen the insanity take over even the most talented eco writers and am filled with sadness and frustration.

This planche in the sea has built a strong and diverse community which provides so much opportunity for learning, communication, sharing and trying things out. Sanity.

Thanks JtC, Joe, Open Thread writers, commenters and so many others.

@Dawn's Meta
I very much appreciate it.

I think the owner of DKos thought he was going to be a DNC insider and player, that's what fueled the Great Purge and the Great Migration. Some of DKos' best writers came here and as far as I know, he isn't an insider or a player. His loss.

I love your perspective from France.

Thank you dearly for your dedication. This is truly a place that supports life and wellbeing, as well as being informative and often fun.

I remember with fondness your evening weekend blues 'juke joint/blues shack' from that other place. I went way back there just now, and sure enough there was a diary from you ten years ago, titled 'ten years after'. I’m guessing you had no idea where life would take you 'ten years later' ; ).

Thank you for persevering, and may we all continue to share such a welcoming place for much longer.

Cheers!

Heh, the jukejoint, I still have that image somewhere. We sure had a lot of fun at the EBs.

So thanks so much for keeping the lights on for us and giving us all a place to call home with like minded other souls.

I still remember the joyful day that I got my invite to the site from CTSM who was liberal someone back then. I didn’t know what I did to deserve it, but was just so happy to get it.

I claim no expertise, here. But I do view sea level changes for geopolitical purposes. To research your location, you'll have to pick an "ice melt viewer" that you trust: NASA, NOAA, EPA, etc. They all have differing projections; this is one area of research where the links frequently change. The few US images I have in my picture file are from National Geographic, and were collected some time back. I would use a search term like "ice melt viewer sea level projections for North America" to find stuff like this. And, I would use a sophisticated uncensored search engine. As I recall, the US Navy is a good source for sea level projections. Projections and predictions are based on a variety of conditions.

This one in my picture file is from National Geographic. Houston caught my eye:

That’s what is great about this site is how often we get things sorted and we’re right about the psyops that we’re being dealt.

We saw through Russia Gate from the beginning and saw that one of the goals was censorship and we saw through the massive transfer of wealth during the COVID scam and got most of goals of it right.

We also delved into the Epstein saga and many other issues that others fell for.

99% is a dang good batting average.
