Friday Night Photos Travelogue Pt4 Edition
Welcome to Friday Night Photos everyone. Your once a week break from the daily madness of the crazy world we live in. Post any photos, memes, music, or whatever else you find of interest that helps you escape the madness.
Last week we went to Egypt. This week we will be staying closer to home. In fact we will be going to a home. The uniquely strange and mysterious home of Sarah Winchester known as the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose, Ca. There are a lot of strange tales about Sarah Winchester and the house. I don't know how many are true and how many are made up. Here's a link to its wiki page where you can read all about Sarah and her mysterious house.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winchester_Mystery_House
A few statistics about the house. It's 24,000 sq ft in size and has 10,000 windows, 2,000 doors, 160 rooms, 52 skylights, 47 stairways and fireplaces, 17 chimneys, 13 bathrooms, 6 kitchens and cost $5 million ($71m in today's dollars) to build.
Along with the shot of the outside of the house I've included images of six of the rooms as shot and a version of each of those after editing with tone mapping software.

Thanks for this
.
I never got around to seeing the house. I wanted to, but I was just too busy elsewhere.
Love homes that have lots of wood in them. I stripped my floor and window and door frames back down to the wood. Swiss chalet.
You tweaking the photos brought out lots of detail. Marvelous!
There were problems with running a campaign of Joy while committing a genocide? Who could have guessed?

Hi, snoopy
To bad you didn't get a chance to make it to the Mystery House. It was a fun an interesting tour. I think they must have cut down half a forest to get all the wood used to build the house. The woodwork in the grand ballroom is a work of art.

Hi pixelators
Hi all, Hey SP,
Great pics SP. Looks like the tone mapping brought a lot of color out. It amazing now how the image you start with is just and only that, so much now. Nothing looks 'right' to me raw unprocessed.
Beautiful house. Looks a bit on the high-maintenance side? Sure would hate to have to dust or vacuum that! Forget washing the windows.
I just have to drop a quick one... Have a couple majorissues going presently...
This is a Mantispid, which are small mantis, there are many types. The shadow shows front legs in the praying position best. They come to lights to sample the bug smorgasbord.
Thanks for the Ot and look at the Winchester House. Great photos!
happy trails all!
We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.
Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.

Hi, dystopian
Thanks for bringing us the Mantispid. I've never seen one before. I did see a mantis on my patio last week. Fall is the only time of year I ever see them in my yard.

An amazing mansion
Opulence was a thing one day.
This is almost an abstract composition.
Notice the black heart on a feather.
cheers
Hi, Q
Fallen leaves. The perfect subject for Fall. Nice shot of the leaves and feather.
