Eight years ago, the utterly objective American news industry "covered" the Trump For Dictator Campaign with billions of dollars worth of air time. The editorial slant of said coverage did not keep him from taking over the Republican Party. For precisely the same reason, news of the various criminal prosecutions coincides with growing support for the Orange Fart Cloud among GOP voters.
My pet peeve during this inane season of world history is the notion that the people running America are all powerful, yet objectively stupid -- too stupid to realize their policies are all doomed to failure. Us random nobodies in cyberspace can easily understand that a nuclear power with five times the population of Ukraine can do whatever it wants to Ukraine. But Biden, Blinken and Nodd just can't wrap their pea brains around it, and fantasize about this leading to Regime Change in Moscow.
Meanwhile, the criminal law fandango currently making headlines and Punditry suggesting that Trump will soon be sailing up The River has coincided with a surge of support For Donnie Shrimpfingers.

The death toll from the Ukraine Russia conflict versus the one from the I/P one puts the lie to rest that Russia is deliberately targeting civilians. And recently Russia bombed a lot of military people in Ukraine and I thought that Ukraine should consider itself lucky that they aren’t fighting Americans because we’d have bombed it again once the rescuers arrived. Like Obama did after he bombed weddings and such.
I think the word has gone out that Biden will not stand for reelection. 2 dem mouthpiece news sites have written horrible stories about him. So who is next in line?

Kiev was once Russia's capitol, but because of constant invasions from the West (Europe), Russia kept moving its capitol city further east. In the end, Russia sees Ukraine as a junkyard of lands, some stolen by Ukraine (from Poland, for example) and other large parcels attached to Ukraine by Russian rulers, who thought these wild territories would slow down potential invaders from the West..

Recall that millions of Ukrainians also fled to Russia when the SMO began, rather than Europe. They have since been settled, housed, and employed in Russia. Those who wish to stay on in Russia have been put on the path toward citizenship. They will be issued Russian passports so they can travel more easily.

a demographic problem.
Current population is 145 million+/- on a landmass the largest on earth.
Recall they are still recovering from a loss of 25 million+/- in WW2 and millions more during the 90s with the collapse of the USSR.
IIRC they were offering free homesteads to any young families who were willing to learn Russian and emigrate there.
Most of the Ukrainians who fled to Russia already spoke Russian.
A win/win for Russia/Ukraine.

They do have a bunch of them that they do need to keep us off their ass while they TCB with our stooges in Ukraine. And ignoring that reality is the specific idiocy that so many so-called progressives attribute to the Biden Government for its nuclear brinksmanship with Russia over their military action in Ukraine.
That is the only value of nuclear weaponry -- deterrence.
