businesses or universities that wanted them to sign a statement saying that they wouldn’t support BDS won their cases?
If they had made people sign something like that for America then they would have lots of support for it being a 1st amendment issue. It should be the same thing for being critical of Israel too. I just can’t understand how so many people can’t see that.
From the tweet I posted:
President of Syria, Bashar Al-Assad, gave a masterful speech at the start of the Russian Ukrainian conflict.
"The West has proven that it does not have friends or enemies. It only has one enemy - anyone who stands in the way of its material interests."
The lie that the WEST and ZIONISM oppose NAZISM.... ukraine.

There were problems with running a campaign of Joy while committing a genocide? Who could have guessed?
to begin with. What political traction was there to achieve?
It is pretty obvious congress is in bed with Israel. Executive
as well. But to go down that path, where it is somehow illegal
to buck the system and say, hey, this is America. We used to
be able to express our opinions. So some group decides it is
politically expedient to make everyone support some foreign
influence. And those opposing are vilified as being anti-semantic
or some such BS. Makes no good sense.
Dunno where I read it, but apparently Israel has blackmail material on lots of people in governments everywhere that keeps them inline to protect Israel’s interests. That’s one reason why Epstein was allowed to do what he did for so long. I also read that Israel has threatened to use its nukes on any country that gets out of line too.
DeSantis went to Israel to sign away the Florida people’s right to the 1st Amendment about 2 years ago. I’m having an argument with someone who said that Democrats are not friends of Israel and only the republicans are. Utter nonsense. Look at Schumer's history of supporting Israel and Pelosi and Obiden said that even if Israel didn’t exist they would make it up because of how important the country is to our foreign policies.
And those opposing are vilified as being anti-semantic
or some such BS.
When I’m critical of Israel it’s not because of of what the Jewish people do , but of its Zionistic actions.
Weird how the world leaders didn’t have a problem when we killed millions and millions of Muslims since just 2003 and destroyed their countries isn’t it?

I wasn't aware of these specific incidents, I just assumed this was the usual practice so I try not to spend much time, if any, on this issue mostly because it seems to never change. Kudos to people who express their opinion when they know what the cost is likely to be.

@soryang
We also can't trust any media anymore. Major news outlets have narrowed their coverage so much, and rely primarily on "human interest" fluff. Even if we find the truth of a situation somewhere, how would we recognize it? How could we trust it? Then, what do we do about it. Notice the Ukraine conflict has mostly disappeared, except for how Israel may need that aid we send.
Everything seems so formulaic, I swear I've seen this stream of "news" reporting with the Kuwait/Iraq war, then the Gulf war, 9/11 and Afghanistan. One sided snippets, scripted biased talking heads chattering between commercials. Israel will be the victim/bully/hero and blast the Palestinians into the ground, Bulldoze half of Gaza and take the land. Build a bigger wall and arm the border. That's what we did. It will be like cowboys and Indians, punish them, put them on a reservation and forget about them. Then back to normal, fawning over Jeff Bezos and Taylor Swift.

I hate it when Hitler's right. He said Jews controlled the U.S. media and thus their propaganda machine.
He also said America was fascist and hoped they'd take Germany's side.

Israelis are pissed because Netanyahu didn't anticipate and deflect the attack. Support in America is for Israel itself, very few know anything about internal politics in Canada let alone Israel.
@ban nock
I understand what you are saying here to mean that Israelis who are criticizing the Netanyahu government are criticizing them for not protecting the Israeli people from Hamas. Yes, I have read that too, but even more of what I have read is their longterm outrage at the Israeli government's cruelty, lawlessness, and inhumanity CAUSING the violent attack by Hamas.
Israeli society is starkly divided on issues leading to illegal settlements, wherein land, homes and farms are taken by force with no compensation, on the storming of the Al Aqsa mosque, on holding prisoners for years without charges, on the killing of children, on the bombing of communities leading up to this crisis, and on the occupation of Palestinian lands. There is enormous hatred for the current government of Israel within Israel.

@Linda Wood
I doubt there is much concern right now for the people who have murdered them in such a barbaric fashion. I also doubt Israel causes much of anything. It's like saying someone ran into your fist with their nose. The people of Gaza should maybe work in making their place a good place to live and forget about killing Jews.
I had to look up what BDS stood for. Typically strong anti semitism runs about 20% in the US.

Maybe just to make Israel Exceptional?
