Democratic ideals seem to have died

How falsely represented the truth can be. I am shaking my head at the insincerity of someone I once considered to be a potential for increased integrity and democracy.

Thank you for your well wishes.

In terms of democracy, we'll see. For example, the PM has shelved the hate speech reforms for now. I hope there will be considerable thought and discussion given to what it would include in the future, or whether it is in any form just.

I'm sorry so much of your time and energy has been spent dealing with an unsupportive system. I hope the conclusion will afford you a greater sense of freedom, so that you can feel the hope. I know it's still there ; ).

“a common story, not just a bunch of separate stories that reinforce our biases and prejudices……for our democracy to stay strong.”

“Common story”= The narrative we give you.
“Just a bunch of separate stories”= Your opinions that contradict or challenge the narrative.

Obama is telling those of us asking questions to sit down and shut up……in order to protect our democracy. What a huckster, peddling his path to a totalitarian dystopia with sophistic horseshit. I can’t believe I was hoodwinked and contributed to his first presidential run.

I wonder if I went back and listened to his campaign speeches if I would see that he always spoke in bullshit terms like this? Would I see that he would hint at something he was going to do without actually saying that he would and I just filled in the blanks to what I wanted him to do?
