Of course he said yes.

Heh. The pope just gave Bernie the same boost as Trump has gotten from cable for the past 2 months.

Watch Hillary overreact and issue some crass statement against Bernie, trying to take away from the moment. It won't be related, it will not be true, but her team will take another POS lie out of their bag 'o tricks that they have concocted to fight that berning sensation, except this one is not a UTI.

over in the Clinton Camp, I can't even imagine they'd be so stupid as to try and make detrimental hay out of the visit (I know--I'm sorta trusting that way, LOL)

The candidate would stand to insult not one, but two constituencies: those of the Jewish faith and those who are Catholic.

No. Hill and Bill won't smear the pope; they'll task that to their vast conspiracy of media pundits.

I was just thinking back to Bernie winning the Muslim vote in Michigan...

When people hear his message and understand his concern for them wonderful things seem to happen.

Christian politicians usually usually make a pilgrimage to the wailing wall. Our first Jewish POTUS candidate makes one to the Vatican... fitting.

I think that bird was a mockingjay.

I hadn't thought of that! Hopefully this trip will force the televised media to give him some positive coverage and end their she's inevitable fuzzy math.

Think TV coverage.

Thing is, "TV" probably won't cover it. They're not huge fans of this Pope, either.

But that's okay, it will get other coverage, because yes, it is a big deal. Not everybody gets an invite to the Vatican from His Holiness. I am duly awestruck Smile

As Joe Biden would say " This is a big F$$$ing Deal". Even more so if Hillary was not invited. Does anyone know if she was invited?

Probably not after the Pope heard about the $225,000 speech requirement, first class accommodations for her and the entourage, no release of transcripts...

Bernie on Morning Joe - good segment where they seemed pretty impressed. Great way to start the day here in NYC.

Bernie Sanders is a non-practicing Jew who never talks about religion on the campaign trail, but when asked about his religious philosophy during a previous Democratic town hall, he cited the "golden rule" as the code he lives by.

Additionally, both Sanders and the pope emphasize the importance of climate change and social justice to their supporters.

The visit has a chance of boosting his vote total in the primaries, as there are many Catholic voters in the remaining primary states such as New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

They thought they could bury us ... they didn't know we were seeds.

Who here would lay odds on her getting Big Dog on the horn to the Vatican, demanding equal time on her behalf?

OK, maybe you don't just call the Pope. But you know, when you're Hillary, you're pretty damn important, so....

Official Calls It a “Monumental Discourtesy!"

A Bloomberg repott quoted Margaret Archer, president of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences, as saying that Sanders had broken with protocol by failing to contact her office first.

Bloomberg (cough) "journalists" must not have been invited onto the Bernie Sanders
campaign going to the Vatican. Ergo, write a hit piece.

It's like clockwork:

Sanders receives good news, almost immeditely corporate owned media releases a smearing news story that contradicts the good.

Then, the contradiction is shown to be false:

Papal official denies report Bernie Sanders invited himself to Vatican

U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders was invited to speak at an April 15 Vatican event by the Vatican, a senior papal official said on Friday, denying a report that Sanders had invited himself.

"I deny that. It was not that way," Monsignor Marcelo Sanchez Sorondo told Reuters in a telephone interview while he was traveling in New York. Sorondo, a close aide to Pope Francis, is chancellor of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences, which is hosting the event.

He said it was his idea to invite Sanders.

Here's the Vatican letter with conference participants.

Jalus, thank you so much for bringing this lie to light. We are fortunate you are here to call BS out where you see it. Moreover, I am glad you understand the truth- that the establishment is trying to stay in power and will do everything (lie, steal, cheat, and bully) to keep it.

Is more corrupt than the politicians they cover. It's disgusting, they pick and choose what to show, when to show it and how to portray the subject. Thank goodness we have the internet for community information. Won't be long before the corporations and their political lackeys try to shut that free flow of information from the unwashed masses.

We need net neutrality from governments and service providers. Human rights you know.
