Russian President Vladimir Putin signaled he remains open to a diplomatic resolution to the Ukraine crisis, even as the Kremlin forges ahead with a military buildup that Western leaders warn could lead to a full-scale attack within days.

The State Department late Monday issued an alert urging U.S. citizens to immediately depart Belarus and Transnistria, a breakaway region of Moldova near Ukraine, because of Russian military activity in the vicinity. The department earlier that day relocated all remaining U.S. Embassy personnel in Kyiv to the far western city of Lviv, near the border with Poland, because of what Secretary of State Antony Blinken said was “the dramatic acceleration in the buildup of Russian forces” on the Ukrainian border and mounting U.S. fears of an invasion.

Pentagon spokesman John Kirby on Monday declined to put a specific number on the Russian troop buildup over the past 24 to 48 hours, but said that “should [Putin] choose to invade again, he is doing all the things you would expect him to do to make sure he’s ready for that option.”

Brandon's brain trust (neocons Blinken et all loading his teleprompter) keep feeding the story of a Russian IMMINENT invasion to prop up his declining polling.

As saying US Naval maneuvers in the Taiwan Strait are a sign of of an imminent invasion of China.

Or that tank maneuvers at that big base in Texas is a sign of imminent invasion of Mexico.

and it is supposed to sink in. Very simplistic in this march to war:

1) 100,000+ Russian troops massing on the border
2) “should [Putin] choose to invade again,
3) Imminent

#1 was used to get a war on with Iraq. 100,000+ Iraqi troops massing on the border with Saudi Arabia. It was a lie.
#2 tells USians that Putin has previously invaded Ukraine. It's a lie.
#3 is a "just war" legal construct to permit offensive actions prior to the target doing anything. This was also used in the Iraq War with the claim that Saddam could hit the UK with WMD within minutes. That was also a lie; so big that USians should have laughed at it.

The HuffPoo is saying that Putin has blinked and is moving some of his troops away from the border because Brandon scared him. Pelosi also said that there’s a good chance that Russia will back down for the same reason. And looking at comments it seems people are buying it. But how dare Russia dictate to us what countries can be accepted into NATO? The nerve! /s in case it’s needed.

But as I said above lots of people are saying that it was Brandon's bravado that made Putin pull back. Or as the shitlibs are saying, Blinken made Putin blink.

All I care about is there won’t be a risk of the world being destroyed because of our arrogance and warmongering ways. For today anyway.

U.S. intelligence officials are accusing the conservative financial news website Zero Hedge of spreading Russian propaganda.

The officials, who spoke to The Associated Press, pointed to a number of stories published by Zero Hedge that accused the U.S. government of raising exaggerated alarms about the prospects of a Russian invasion of Ukraine.They said the stories originated with Kremlin-controlled media.

Some of those stories were written by people affiliated with the Strategic Culture Foundation, an organization sanctioned by the Biden administration for allegedly contributing to Russia's interference in the 2020 election, according to the AP.

Zero Hedge has denied any wrongdoing and said it publishes a variety of opinions on its site.
