Headaches, Mondays, and Art
I was going through some of the posts to see what this site was looking for in the way of diaries. One thing jumped up at me when it was suggested that we share art and photographs. Being both an artist and photographer this really made me happy. I have always loved art. My second grade teacher put a note on my report card telling my parents "take a look at her art!" I have been selling digital art since 1998. It is one of the things that has kept me semi-sane through life's up and downs.
This has been a typical Monday. I had to go out to both the library and the store. That of course meant more pollen to aggravate the infection I have been fighting off since my birthday. Discovering yesterday that it was my birthday dinner that got me sick didn't help the headache department. I ordered a salad that had bleu cheese in it. Fortunately I didn't eat all of it because the steaks came and that was what we were there for. Watching my favorite cooking shows yesterday showed a bleu cheese salad and I suddenly remembered that the type of bleu cheese mold is one that I am highly allergic too. No wonder I started feeling sick on Easter and by the next day felt like death warmed over. Sigh live and learn.
One of the things I love to do with my art is make a calendar for family and friends. The family one has all the family birthdays and anniversaries. I also look up and have the celebrations for each day with appropriate little graphics. Each year I have a theme and the theme for 2016 is Clouds. I use 12 pictures that I have done in the previous year to illustrate each month. The only constant from year to year is that the December picture is the Christmas card picture for the previous year. I made the calendar for 2016 at the end of 2015 so it could go in the Christmas gifts.
These are the 12 pictures for the 2016 calendar.
January: Silver Threads and Golden Needles
February: Inside the Storm
March: Don't Mess With Me
April: Trying to Escape the Storm
May: Waiting
June: New Earth
July: Looking for Trouble
August: Up Through the Clouds
September: Playing in the Rain
October: Eye of the Storm
November: Space Lighthouse
December: Christmas Daydreams

The Choice is Yours!
(art and headaches included with each, no extra charge...)
Thanks this is just
what we need more art! Helps inspire me on this blue Monday.
Magical Surrealism, very cool. I'm drawn to the works with
figures in them. Do you have a website?
My Website
My grand nephew is going to redo it for me so that it is more modern. It is at http://www.artbymichelewilson.com/

Happy headache here, too
5" new snow does not help. I am drawn to the locomotive and the beach/floating Christmas tree. Clouds in sky. I relate.
I am over a week dog-less in a too-large house for just me. His death was anticipated, in a sad way. But solitude does not work for me, this is the first time maybe forever that I have been by myself. Before Riley died, I predicted that I wanted dog-comfort after and had come up with a tentative dog name of cirrus, the cloud formation. In a nearly-seamless manner I have found a puppy, a female and because of the breed origin I came up with a her-name of Skya.
So I am still with the sky. Best to you.
Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.
I tried uploading 3 of my brush paintings and my browser
froze. so.......Trying again
Don't believe everything you think.
Lovely, really lovely.
I've been trying to load some of my iPadPro art, but the size of the images is too much for this site
I wish I could tell you how to fix yr images so they are clear
cause they're pretty fuzzy when I try to enlarge them. But here's a card I made for my grandson with your sig line![Don't Believe.jpg](/sites/default/files/user%20images/Don%27t%20Believe.jpg)
Nice work Hester
by brush stroke do you mean created analog? I have a thing about Camels as a subject matter, don't know why. They are like elephants such visually intriguing creatures. I always was a sucker for long eyelashes. My granddaughter is an elephant image lover. She's an artist/craft person and her work is very delicate, linear and not elephantine at all. Lot's of visual artists here. Triv33 is a excellent painter. Marilyn is another visual artist. Joe is a great photographer among many here. Hope we make a space here to share and publish our combined visual arts. It goes good with the music that flows on this site.
ty so much. Sha, by brush painting I mean Asian
brush painting done on special paper and with black ink. Where there is color, it's water color. But most Asian brush painting is done in ink, rubbed from an ink stick onto a smooth stone and diluted w water when necessary. I use mostly a brown black ink, but sometimes a blue black one also. Thanks for asking.
Don't believe everything you think.
wow!! nice, michelewin and hester!
Is that calendar purchasable? I'd pay extra for a tiny blue sparrow perched on the November lady's shoulder.

1st one reminds me of a Todd Lockwood piece...
For those who don't know http://toddlockwood.com/ he was the artist responsible for the redesign of the "Dungeons and Dragons" Dragons back around 1999.
Really like his work.
And just for the hell with it, Another fantasy/commercial artist I really enjoy is http://diterlizzi.com/home/ who also was very active in the mid-late nineties, and was responsible for some of the most Iconic RPG settings ever.
I do not pretend I know what I do not know.
Aaaand now I'm kicking myself...
because I didn't realize that was a PERN reference.
I do not pretend I know what I do not know.
DMW what's PERN?
Anne McCaffrey series of novels...
Pern stands for "Parallel Earth, Resources Nominal". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragonriders_of_Pern
Story straddles the line between SF and fantasy with psychic dragons who bond with human riders. It's a decent series, but not my personal favorite.
I do not pretend I know what I do not know.
Congratulations
You are the first person to recognize the Pern reference.

I would love a calendar like that ...
"Christmas Dreams" and "Playing in the Rain" and "Waiting" and "Don't Mess With Me" ...I like all of it. Do you sell them? Or are they strictly digital?
And I love hesters little elephant's butt on the bottom of her post as well.
May the headaches be forgotten while listening to Fats Domino. I like him too.
Oh, I love a lot of people today.![Smile](https://caucus99percent.com/sites/all/modules/smiley/packs/kolobok/smile.gif)

Calendars are Done Digitally
I just need to find another source for the kits. I'm checking now. They would be about $35.00 for the kit, ink needed, and posting but if I can find a source I could sell them.

Collage in most
I'd never thought of that.
What a unique story you've told.
Sure it follows the seasons, but in most of the months, you've told 1/12 of a story constructed in a way I'd never imagined it. That's a waker-upper! Like that!
Good going, Michelle!
