Is This Campaign Real? Is This Happening?

This entire campaign has got to be some kind of hallucination.
2000 people outside CNN in Hollywood, protesting the free media Trump has received by the network, compared to Bernie. That's not news. Did that even happen? Did that tree even fall in that forest? Maybe we need to make a louder noise.

18,000 in the Bronx to see a goddamn political phenomenon of massive proportions. A multi-cultural Lovefest of engaged citizens. 18,000 people and not one arrest. The cops thought they were hallucinating. But that was not news on MSNBC, which for months has carried Trump speeches in their entirety.

Now, if that rally was for Trump, or even Clinton, do you think MSNBC might have carried a few minutes live? Nah.

The "news." Operating on the same logic that brings us reality TV garbage. For eyeballs. To watch a buffoon, who incites violence-causing racial animus, a celebrity with a long history of sleaze and self-promotion. Yes, it is a train wreck. It is for gawkers. It is not news.

The debate about debates. Big news all weekend. Hillary proposes the night of the NCAA Finals, the night before taxes are due, or the morning after taxes are due on Good Morning America, moderated by a man whose career was made by association with her political dynasty. And another proposal was on a day Benrie already has permitted for another epic NYC Lovefest. But she says Bernie "should stop playing games." The media calls it a wash... Hahaha And Clinron is the one we are supposed to take seriously.

You, and me, and the rest of us, we need to check ourselves, as we are losing our reference points a bit during this election. On TV, I hear nothing about policy. Ever. The media acts like Flint style infrastructure, stagnant wages, and massive concentrations of wealth are normal for this country. They act like one party not considering a Supreme Court nominee is not that big a deal. After all, after all the obstruction that has become the new normal, I guess now a party has to have the Presidency and 60 Senators to fill a court vacancy. That'll be helpful.

The Serious People really have climbed into the pod, and they must be almost ready to hit the bunkers underneath the Denver Airport.

There is NO WAY they can expect the center to hold when they long ago stopped acting like they care. The "adults" are really a bunch of spoiled babies. They didn't have to fight in the war, they didn't have to suffer through a depression. THEY GREW UP ON THE TUBE. 50s TV. HOLY SHIT!! They still live in 1962, and have been trying to get back there since JFK went down.

Clinton vs Trump:
The Unwanted vs Unbelievably Unfit
Clinton vs Cruz:
The Unwanted vs Christo-Fascist Nightmare
Clinton vs Kasich:
The Unwanted vs future President Kasich
Clinton vs Ryan:
How could this even really happen? No fuckin way

Is this really the set-up? Because there is one candidate that is considered honest and trustworthy. One that cannot be bought with money or favor. One that made the right decision on the biggest foreign policy decision ever, when the Serious People got it wrong. One that understands that our current economy is undermining democracy, and is NOT normal. One that has an army of motivated, informed, and compassionate backers, an army that represents the future. The first generation since the baby boomers to be a yuuuuge population force, and is ready to start cleaning up the mess. If only these fuckin Eagles fans would let them.

The Revolution will not be televised.

As luck would have it, most Americans can now get their information via the Web - which of course didn't exist in 1971.

"We've done the impossible, and that makes us mighty."

Boomer here hoping Bernie wipes the floor with Hillary, and we bring the Third Way and all of its subsidiaries to heel.

I thought Obama's flip-flop to GS 20 minutes after getting elected in 2008 was a huge tell. This election lays bare the big fat naked ugliness of politicians, parties, media, and the .001% that own them. The corrupt flea market exposed to all who are watching is what passes for a democracy in the U.S. If Bernie doesn't win, I hope he runs as an independent. I'd like to see him and Trump splinter off . The real fight isn't which ONE politician is going to win the presidency on their field with their bat. The real fight is against the two party system and the slime buckets that own them.

Trump v Ryan v Clinton v Sanders

Now that would be fun. Except the House would throw the election to Paul Ryan.

Sanders 32
Trump 25
Clinton 19
Ryan 21
Other 3

Cruz, maybe; Kasich, possibly (there's a school of thought that the Republican convention will rally around his fake "nice-guy" facade). But Ryan had his chance and washed out bigtime.

Of course somebody could pick him for vice-president - again. But that didn't work out too well the first time, either.

Would want a soup kitchen dishwasher for president?

A dishwasher that couldn't even show up on time to wash dirty dishes...

wrong with being a dishwasher. In fact, not a bad idea for a real dishwasher to be President. There would be an individual dedicated to taking the country back from the wealthy.

a row of icons. At the right end of that row, a down arrow. Click on that, a second row of icons appears. The icon at the right end of the second row is the embed icon for videos and such. Paste either the embed code from the video or the URL, I think you can use either, click OK, and the video will appear in your comment or diary.

Thousands of Bernie Sanders Supporters Protest CNN Building in Hollywood
Supporters of Bernie Sanders said they were unhappy corporate news media has covered Donald Trump so extensively
http://www.nbclosangeles.com/news/local/Protest-CNN-Bernie-Sanders-Polit...

Video at link (I don't know how to do an embed from videos like this). The reporter said the event was peaceful, no incidents, the people she talked with were all Bernie supporters. I saw a couple of signs said "Clinton News Network." They were unhappy with the fact that Bernie was virtually ignored while most of the news was about Drumpf & Hillary. [I'm only surprised there haven't been demonstrations before this, but Congrats to the marchers and demonstrators from both sides of the street, as well as the drivers honking their horns.]

This morning's BNR had a video I know how to link/embed, and in part of it there was a fellow with a large camera above his head with the TYT logo on the back of it, so likely Cenk will have that on his show today.

I see the video didn't embed because I goofed, but that's okay. Once I scrolled up and started reading comments I see it's already been posted!

Just saw this article and it seemed like your essay was a most fitting place to post it.

How to Hack an Election

Andrés Sepúlveda rigged elections throughout Latin America for almost a decade. He tells his story for the first time.

It was just before midnight when Enrique Peña Nieto declared victory as the newly elected president of Mexico. Peña Nieto was a lawyer and a millionaire, from a family of mayors and governors. His wife was a telenovela star. He beamed as he was showered with red, green, and white confetti at the Mexico City headquarters of the Institutional Revolutionary Party, or PRI, which had ruled for more than 70 years before being forced out in 2000. Returning the party to power on that night in July 2012, Peña Nieto vowed to tame drug violence, fight corruption, and open a more transparent era in Mexican politics.

Two thousand miles away, in an apartment in Bogotá’s upscale Chicó Navarra neighborhood, Andrés Sepúlveda sat before six computer screens. Sepúlveda is Colombian, bricklike, with a shaved head, goatee, and a tattoo of a QR code containing an encryption key on the back of his head. On his nape are the words "/head" and ”body" stacked atop each other, dark riffs on coding. He was watching a live feed of Peña Nieto’s victory party, waiting for an official declaration of the results.

When Peña Nieto won, Sepúlveda began destroying evidence. He drilled holes in flash drives, hard drives, and cell phones, fried their circuits in a microwave, then broke them to shards with a hammer. He shredded documents and flushed them down the toilet and erased servers in Russia and Ukraine rented anonymously with Bitcoins. He was dismantling what he says was a secret history of one of the dirtiest Latin American campaigns in recent memory.

I read this article last Thursday and I think I've told 15 people about it in person. I know there are wanna-be Sepulvedas all over US politics, and I know that HRC will do ANYTHING to get elected.

Rendon says he has a client for the 2016 US General Election. It's got to be either Clinton or Cruz. And the fact that my spidey sense tells me that it's one of them, I think says everything about who HRC is and how progressives see her. But it's probably Cruz.

I hope everyone is beginning to wake up to the Bernie media blackout. If anyone else drew his sized crowds it would be plastered everywhere. They just keep on the the inevitable Hillary myth. MSM is determined to have Hillary...they know she'll flip back to the support the TPP...a cash cow for the media.

Hooray for the protests. Just wait till next week with democracy spring http://www.democracyspring.org/ and the democracy awakening http://democracyawakening.org/ marches/gathering in DC.
Wonder what kind of coverage we get. About like OWS?

Onward!
