and Trevor Noah hits the nail squarely on the head. I agree with his framing in every detail.

But my question is Cui Bono? (Latin for Who benefits?) Why the great escalation now?

The answer is simple. Benjamin Netanyahu, a week away from being deposed, losing his Prime Minister position after 12 years of authoritarian ultra religious right wing rule, has stirred a conflict and for now, the formation of the Anti-Bibi government has paused.

The conflict will last until ........IDK. "The beatings will continue until morale improves."
Or something to that effect from Orwell, was it?

Austin also told Israeli Minister of Defense Benjamin Gantz "he strongly condemned the launching of rockets by Hamas and other terrorists groups that targeted Israeli civilians,” Pentagon press secretary John Kirby said in a statement.

The Pentagon chief “reiterated the importance of all involved parties to take steps to restore calm.”
