Dems Mull Impeachment Trial Time Line
Extension of Trump Term Only Road to Conviction

Senior Democratic House and Senate leaders are now struggling with the reality that there are no more business days before the end of Donald Trump’s turn as President. The controversial solution being considered is to keep Trump in office until he can be properly punished for his misconduct as President.

“We cannot allow him to escape justice just because the clock ran out,” a senior advisor to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Shumer said on condition of anonymity due to the sensitive nature of the ongoing talks.

The biggest problem facing the Democratic brain trust is The Constitution, which now, at least on paper, calls for the inauguration of Joe Biden as President on Tuesday – leaving no time for the prosecution to make its case, or for all 100 Senators to get face time on national television coverage of the trial.

“As former President W Bush -- who does not look so bad now -- said, “The Constitution is just a piece of paper,’” another high ranking Democratic Congressional aide stated. “Speaker Pelosi is very sensitive to the need for bi-partisanship in this effort to hold Trump accountable. We believe that Dubya will make a video with President Obama to explain the need for delaying the start of Biden Administration."

Details are being worked out over the weekend and observers are expecting a Temporary Constitutional Pause to take effect at noon Monday, the Federal Holiday commemorating the slain civil rights leader Martin Luther King. Shumer’s aide pointed out that “The Leadership believes that Dr. King would appreciate his holiday being associated with the punishment of the racist Trump.”

This story will be updated as events develop.

The link needs cleaning up.

The name and the content lead me to believe it’s preposterous comedy.

There is no justice. There can be no peace.

@TheOtherMaven .

Yes it is satire. The source is my own fevered imagination.

Jonathan Swift don't explain why there are small people in Lilliput, but I guess the evidence indicates that I ain't as funny as he was. So I guess I should say that this silly little effort is intended to make fun of the absurdity of our current political situation in the USA.

The satirical technique was to emulate the style of a "news" article in this depraved post-truth, post-Constitutional and otherwise postmodern world we inhabit. I consider it a great compliment that you did not consider the possibility that some random internet smart ass could fabricate such a pernicious piece of propaganda.

Nope. It is really easy to do. And that is my point. Thanks for responding to my little bit of satire. It will bother folks who are deeply committed to believing that the war between Trump and the Dems is real. If so, mission accomplished.
