Sheldon Adelson has passed away.

This was reported by Howie Klein, at Down with Tyranny this morning.

Sheldon Adelson, simultaneously a Mafia and a one-man Israeli front operation-- who has also been a conduit for political money from China-- has been the biggest single contributor to the Republican Party for many years and one often party's primary shot-callers. He died-- non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma-- last night in Malibu, age 87. Technically a dual citizen of the U.S. and Israel, he was the top Israeli agent in the U.S., openly bribing Republican politicians to bend to Israel's will. In the last two election cycles alone, he laundered nearly half a billion dollars into Republican campaigns. He was widely considered one of the most toxic influences on American politics in the past century and his death will be (quietly) celebrated by all good-government reformers.

Please note:..."who has also been a conduit for political money from China"...well, thanks for that, Howie. Now that the guy is dead, the truth can be told about just whose money it was he has been spending. I can't be the only person who has suspected as much all along.

Mitch McConnell is known to have bought the Majority, now Minority, Leadership with the money he hands out to Republican candidates AND he is married into a family of East Asian oligarchs, variously described as Chinese, Taiwanese and Chinese-American. So, I wonder where his various pacs come from?

I will leave it to Adelson's co-religionists to determine what the fate of his soul might be.

I have mixed feelings when this happens...

...just like when Poppy Bush and David Koch died: If they die both of natural causes and as free men, they have effectively escaped Justice, and the resulting theft will abscess for a very long time. They should NOT have been allowed to make it through at least one of these two goalposts. The 0.01% has never feared death, but relied upon it as the ultimate secret escape tunnel. As a matter of fact, I think the assumption of human mortality may be fundamental to their entire worldview, and why they do what they do.

@The Liberal Moonbat I have kind of had the notion that they think they are immortal and maybe also a separate species.

I would like to know why Howie didn't see fit to report the Chinese connection--not that it wasn't fairly obvious--a long time ago.

Oddly enough, you're actually thinking of people like ME

@Nastarana The logic that comes from both feeling that one is not/does not wish to be human, and from wanting more than anything to literally live forever (reaching that point in your life in which you confront the full, stark reality of your own mortality at the age of 5 might just do that to you) DOES NOT lead one to omnicidal sociopathy, but the total opposite.
Don't you think people who intend to live forever would take the long and big-picture view as a matter of course, that sustainability, truth, and a supremely intelligent civilization would be foundational concerns rather than something they seek to ruin at every turn? These raveners don't care about 10 years from now, let alone 100, let alone the distant future. I think their whole way of life is rooted - and stuck - in the logic of Iron Age agrarian feudalism, when the world was a far bleaker place, and the notion that we might ever stand upon the threshold of godhood upon which we could be standing today was wholly unfathomable. They are blindly crushing a miraculous possible future in its cradle.

The world did just get a bit better and a bit less evil. I might need to drink a toast today. (Sorry, no quietness from me--I celebrate when people who really make this world a worse place kick it. It might not be the style of many good people here, but it is mine!)

But, like the Kochs, Sheldon was the mind behind the funding. Adelson's wife might be just as grand-thinking and savvy, but perhaps not. Whomever she gives the money to after she passes on, they probably won't have the grand vision or coordination that Sheldon had.

For example, the Koch brothers started ALEC (or whatever it is/was), which went around and funded Republicans and got similar voting, business, political laws passed in tens of states. Organized and coordinated evil. Sheldon Adelson was a part of those efforts.

His wife probably is as well, but as the money gets more distant from its source, historically, I've seen influence dry up. (e.g., how influential are the Kennedys or Roosevelts nowadays compared to the mid-1900s?)
