When they say "access to health care"
If the only problem is access to healthcare, then there is no problem.
We all have access to health care in the same way we all have access to owning a yacht.

Almost a third of working Americans currently have some kind of medical debt and about 28% of those who have an outstanding balance owe $10,000 or more on their bills.
When asked if they’ve ever defaulted on those bills, about 54% of people with medical debt said they had, according to a new survey fielded by Salary Finance of over 2,700 U.S. adults working at companies with over 500 employees.
And that’s among people who are employed and typically have health insurance, Dan Macklin, Salary Finance’s U.S. CEO and co-founder of SoFi, tells CNBC Make It.

Obamacare was—and is—a big deal. As president, I’ll protect and build on it, lower health care costs, and give Americans the opportunity to choose a new public option.
We’re going to make sure everyone has access to the affordable health care they need. https://t.co/34NCSYhO2C

We have access to healthy the same way cows,
on their way to milking parlors with swollen udders, have access to a little side door that opens to “free range” grazing.
ACA leaves millions behind and millions more in debt or flat broke when they get sick. Remember, this was going to be improved step by step. About all those improvements: crickets.

doing what they are paid to do.
They make a lot of money.
Must be doing a helluva job.

Access is meaningless
Also when politicians talk about "access," they are talking about insurance, not healthcare. There should never be a profit making middle man (insurance company) between a person and healthcare.

Exactly.
No insurance company would cover me.
I was actually thrilled to have insurance, even if it cost me $2300 per month. And I paid it until 65, Medicare kicked in. I even got locked into paying it 6 to 8 months after I got Medicare, because I was blocked from canceling the policy, for "reasons".
The reason is that morning I had a heart attack. I think I was in my early 40's, on my way to the office for a deposition. Mt late husband took me to a nearby hospital, and they insisted I write a $750 check before they would allow me into the ER. While writing that check, I fell to my knees, finally given a bed, I was questioned about my last menstrual period. I had a hysterectomy at age 31. They laughed. I was not having a menopause problem. They inquired about any fights I had with my spouse. The man that was holding onto my hand during the questioning. I waited for the ekg after 2 or 3 "important people" got their test. They were white men.
When I said I was years way from the menstrual period, the dr. laughed at me in my face.
I yanked my gown away and showed the surgical scar, and then told the mighty dr. he was a prick.
THIS is why I thought Obamacare was better than what I experienced.
Huntsville, Texas. They once had a decent reputation.
I did get to my husband's dr. and he did suggest some further tests to assess the damage.
I couldn't afford them.
We all die from something. My "estate" goes to the Houston Humane Society.
They are no kill.
