Good Evening All

I'm enjoying two of the most valuable commodities at the moment - comedy and music, and they're free.

How 'bout you, what are you enjoying?

I love Marley, wanted to go to Jamaica to visit his museum. Friends discouraged me, said I needed people to go with me.
I couldn't find anyone interested in going, so I decided I was to vulnerable to go it alone.
I just did some virtual visits instead.
I have been engaged in a back and forth email for several hours with my guy and I swapping jokes.
I had previously described him as a cross between Charlemagne and George Carlin.
Today, he is full on Carlin!
He has distracted me from the bug floating out there.

@on the cusp

Sounds like you have a satisfying distraction. When you've exhausted your communication, check out more of the Topp Twins. They are classic Kiwi talent.

If you wish, please send us one of your favourite jokes of the evening. Stay well and happily distracted.

how I spent my days of sheltering in place.
I giggled that I hoped nobody asked, since I am not a proficient liar!
He said he would tell people that he and I had very good and interesting phone chats to entertain the guys at the NSA.

Not Henry Kissinger's picture

Elaine May does not get the credit she deserves as a pioneer of television comedy. An absolutely brilliant comedic writer and actress.

The current working assumption appears to be that our Shroedinger's Cat system is still alive. But what if we all suspect it's not, and the real problem is we just can't bring ourselves to open the box?

I’m finding comedy at the moment pure gold. I will dig for more Nichols and May.

“ … yes, yes, that’s a moral issue, which is always so more interesting than a real issue … you know, because there’s a fibre to it … “ Nice.

Some more from the Topp Twins …

@janis b @janis b

is a great sleeper movie which she wrote, directed, and starred in with Walter Mathau. Very funny!

FYI: she also wrote the scripts for Primary Colors and Heaven Can Wait.

Practically every line was brassy, and every action delightfully played - surreal in a purely wacky way. Oddly enough, I have followed tree ferns around the world ; ).

Not the best quality, but can be watched on you tube ...

His family asked the rabbi to speak at the service.
He agreed,though this put him in a difficult position.

The word went out through the community and the funeral was packed.
How would he handle it?

At the appropriate time, the rabbi went to the front.
Everyone leaned forward.

"The family have asked me to say a few words on behalf of the departed Mr. Singer."

Absolute silence.

"His brother was worse."

I have read Malcolm X (The Autobiography of Malcolm X), but I don't remember that interesting tidbit, or enough else. Cheers for the context, maybe it's time to reread it.
