Biden's "Hallelujah" moment will save the Democratic Party and give a big gift to progressives in the US
Did you hear? Biden is adopting one plan each from his rivals (Sanders and Warren)! There you have it: proof that progressives can have a real impact. We can now rest assured that no matter who wins the Democratic primary contest, we're going to get the most progressive administration ever.
There is absolutely no way that Biden is lying, or that his campaign staff (and possibly he, himself) have thrown this trial balloon out as an insincere attempt at pandering to the center-left and left-wing of the party. He really means everything he tweets.
Oh, and by the way, I have a great cabin in a ski resort near Miami to sell ya.
I don't know what's more pathetic: how transparent, craven, and cynical Biden's campaign is or how quickly and readily the dimwitted dems in the party will fall all over themselves to believe it, including (and perhaps especially) some Bernie supporters. This is right up there with the bread and circuses and other bribery in the Roman republic--except even more dishonest.
Anyone who actually believes Biden will pursue either the bankruptcy revisions or a tuition program is either incredibly stupid, naive, or (as is the case with folks like party insiders and power-holders) standing to gain something from a Biden nomination and/or victory.
Look for the following really dumb bits of propaganda to spew from their lips soon (if they haven't already started):
- See? Progressives have "won": y'all got a centrist to move left on two important issues, and that should be considered a victory! Huzzah!
- You shouldn't care if (Bernie|Tulsi|other non-party-hack) is not the one who sits in the office as long as their policies get enacted! This is a big win!
- Look, Biden's conceding some ground in the interest of unity, don't be a Bernie Bro and throw his graciousness bakc in his face--you can walk away from this with a big win if you just get on board and support his nomination.
And generally other things along these lines.
All this requires one thing: belief in Biden's sincerity, and that his fellow nation-fleecers in the party will follow through. They won't. They prefer to continue fleecing the nation in concert with republicans, for their own enrichment, because it's simply who they are. Of course, the response to this will be more "purity" accusations, "you'll never be satisfied", etc. It's happened before, and it's happening now: these people are easily duped because they want to be, and it's sad that everybody else has to pay for their stupidity.
Don't believe Biden, or the rest of them.

at the debate tonight (sarcastically, of course). But that won't happen. Bernie will make nice and get behind Biden 100%, just like he did Hillary in 2016. By the way, his getting behind Hillary is, I believe, one of the reasons he's not doing as well this year as he did then--many of us simply weren't willing to enable the sheepdog any longer.

I don't think he's doing worse this year
certainly the number of donations he's received wouldn't suggest that, nor the polling up into Cheater Tuesday. Nor the exit polling. The first of which is a data point I'm not sure how to fake--even if the Sanders campaign lied about it, wouldn't one of the other campaigns, or the DNC, be able to find out pretty quickly if they did? The second can be faked, or distorted, of course. The third is much more reliable than the second, as my sig. code says.
The extent to which Bernie's actually "done worse" is that before he was running against one person, and this time, against legions. So, naturally, the vote has been split more ways. Aside from that, he's done remarkably well at replacing those of us who Exited last time and stayed gone. He just hasn't done well at beating cheaters in a rigged system. Afraid few people are good at that, unless they're willing to cheat themselves.

I've written it elsewhere here: the fact that Biden won so big in SC and on Super Tuesday despite not having any campaign funding, staff, advertising, or anything else supposedly required for a political operation should be a giant, flashing neon warning sign about how dysfunctional and rigged our system of government is.
The democratic party isn't cheating--they're playing by the lopsided, unfair, undemocratic rules they and the republicans have put in place to maintain political power. Even if Bernie had a majority of delegates they would find some way to not nominate him.

With all this mass hysteria about Wall Street and the Corona Plague are people going to turn to what they know and feel is 'safe'? A return to supposed normality? A lot of true blue Dems. The fear is palatable and thick.

and other parasites in our health extortion system. That’s the only way he’d ever support anything like it. Actual M4A would include strict price negotiations and constraints, and would hurt Biden’s owners, which is why he doesn’t support it.
He’s a hypocrite, and anyone who votes for him is also, unless they just don’t actually care whether what they purport to desire is achieved and are really just treating politics like a sport contest. You know, like the Trumpers they mock for doing just that.

Biden is behaving differently from Hillary. One commenter said Hillary didn't even bother to lie to us. This suggests Biden saw the impact of people who voted for someone else or stayed home in 2016.
I don't expect free college for all from Biden. But free 2 year colleges is a possibility. Maybe the constant lies will be enough to force Biden at least to hold the line on Social Security. I know he supported cutting it before right up through his support of the Simpleton-Bowels Commission. But he's on video for this election saying he won't. That may well mean congress will have to twist his arm mightily (He'll be very anguished.) to get cuts in the COLA, but Trump is planning big time cuts.
For me it's easy. Biden will win my state. I have the luxury of writing in Tulsi. But I think the key factor will be his choice for the vice presidential candidate. If his choice is the female equivalent of Tim Kaine I wouldn't see a reason to vote for Biden even in a swing state. If he selects a woman to his left it might be worth a vote.
For whatever it's worth Hillary wanted to prove she didn't need our votes. Biden seems to be showing he knows he needs them.
I'm not convinced. But I'm willing to keep an open mind.
