A few key pieces of knowledge

It is not unusual for us to forget we were taught special bits of information and skills that have become part of our daily habits. When advised to wash your hands most health professionals are referencing this technique.

k9disc introduced us to Dr Carpenter from the UK. His recently released video Q and A with self isolation. Isolation in a multi-person household begins at 7:48.

Think of the advice or rules as a small child when in public.

  • Don't touch anything in a store you do not plan to buy.
  • Don't touch your face.
  • If you can not keep your hands to yourself keep them in your pocket.
  • Don't stand so close to that person.
  • You can eat when we get home.
  • Stop licking your lips
  • Don't sniff, use your tissue and blow your nose.

Please feel free to add your own thoughts and advice. We all have valuable bits of info.

Do a bit of self calming … then watch the video with a receptive mindset.

the whole time happy birthday is playing. That's real waste. As a person who had to haul water to survive, wasting water really bothers me.

@Raggedy Ann is use fresh towel for each action: turn off the water throw towel away, soap use new towel to turn on water throw towel, rinse, dry hand and use towel to turn water off. Other options are have a second person turn the water on and off or only use a facility sink handles in the surgical prep area that may be turned off with a forearm.

One verse of Happy Birthday is the recommended time to wash hands thoroughly.

For minimal water use could use the bucket or bottle option. Generally used when hand carrying water to a treatment area.

@studentofearth

is that there are individuals that do not have the option of following any of these suggestions. And, no I am not talking about some far off slum or isolated enclave. I am talking about being in what should be the best place to live and be able to take care of basic necessities.

Some of us are lucky, others not so lucky.

if you get the virus. Might be worth having on hand.

Also I've read about the influence of sauna or sweat lodge on combating the flu as well.

Obviously it is better not to get the flu, but sounds like at least some of us are bound to come down with it. We're hunkered down back here in the valley, but still go out to restock and so on.

Thanks for the advice.
