The Impeachment of President Sanders

Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) today announced formal articles of impeachment against President Bernard "Bernie" Sanders. The articles passed the Republican-majority House of Representatives in a non-partisan vote, with all Republicans and fifty-five Democrats voting for while a handful of Democrats voted against.

Article 1, considered the most serious of the six articles, laid out the case for obstruction of Congress by detailing President Sanders' hold on US weapons shipments to Saudi Arabia that Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Al Saud ("MBS") desperately needs to fight Iranian aggression in Yemen. As part of its case against Sanders, Congressional Republican leaders pointed to the President's own incriminating statement:

"I think people are looking at the horrific humanitarian disaster now taking place in Yemen. There was a recent report that over the last number of years some 75,000 children have died of starvation. This is a country dealing with cholera, with a terrible level of famine." then-Senator Bernard Sanders, November 25, 2018

The charge was buttressed by witness testimony, including the US Ambassador to Saudi Arabia as well as an unidentified whistle-blower who valiantly reported a July, 2021 phone call with the Israeli Prime Minister in which President Sanders steadfastly refused to release $1.5 billion of military equipment to the beleaguered Kingdom on exaggerated and illogical humanitarian grounds. He also threatened to reduce US aid to Israel by 10% unless Israel agreed to reduce attacks on Palestinian civilians.

That second threat, of reducing aid to Israel, the only democratic nation in the Middle East and a lifelong friend of the United States, is the basis of impeachment Article 2.

The other four articles dealt with ancillary charges, such as Sanders efforts to establish a working relationship with Russian President and sworn US enemy Vladimir Putin to address climate change, a make-believe crisis that Democrats claim threatens the future of Earth.

Another article involves Sanders' attempt to reinstate the defunct and discredited nuclear agreement (JCPOA) with Iran, an agreement that falsely claimed it harnessed Iran's nuclear ambitions, deadly ambitions that were well-documented by former Israeli PM Benyamin Netanyahu at the United Nations in 2015 and 2018.

As its next step, the House will formally submit the articles of impeachment to the US Senate on Friday. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell promises quick action on this critical matter that threatens the safety and security of the United States of America and its most important allies such as Saudi Arabia and Israel.

This would make him a martyr.
They would want to discredit him.
That would mean
1.) blocking legislation (or never even considering it) and then saying "Look how he can't work with Congress"
2.) passing laws that directly undermine his agenda, and then blaming Bernie for the outcomes
3.) relentless attacks and smears
4.) I'm probably overlooking something

We wanted decent healthcare, a living wage and free college.
The Democrats gave us Biden and war instead.

is defying the will of the Congress and just playing to his base. That is disrespecting our Democracy and will be responsible for all the bloodshed by our staunch ally Saudi Arabia by the terrorist Country of Iran.
Even Democrat Adam Schiff said stopping arms sales to the Saudis will hamper them from stopping the aggression of Iran, and we must help fight Iran over there or it will be here at home. "Their fight is our fight" said Rep. Schiff and he added this could lead to many people losing their jobs at Raytheon, and other defense industries.
Rep. Schiff has also joined a bipartisan group that claim this is proof the Russians' influence on Pres. Sanders who once chose to spend his wedding trip to Russia instead of America, and that no one should forget how he supported the Sandinista Govt. in Nicaragua, which was supported by Russians as well.

The Democrats will still control the House.

The current working assumption appears to be that our Shroedinger's Cat system is still alive. But what if we all suspect it's not, and the real problem is we just can't bring ourselves to open the box?

If Bernie Sanders wins the nomination, the cabal controlling the DNC will do whatever they can to ensure Trump gets elected. At least with Trump, they get almost everything they want without the baggage of being held responsible.

(BTW, doesn't Bernie have a preexisting heart problem??????)

Guess this was from two months ago, but still.
That 'leftists' would even consider voting for ByeDone or Amy or dawg forbid Mayo Pete is beyond mind boggling. Especially those who were once on the Obama universal health care bandwagon. Why anyone would want to just make the ACA better when it has kept millions from being able to afford it or that millions have lost everything because it didn't fix the health care problems is also mind boggling. Yeah it would be hard to get his health care plan and other things through our current congress, but shouldn't we at least try to? I just don't get it.

Apparently holocaust denial is not an issue anymore. Lots of people are denying the one in Gaza with absolutely no repercussions.

Because if they removed President Bernie Sanders, his vice president would become POTUS.

And the establishment PTB (read: MIC) really, really don't want President Tulsi Gabbard.

(Or President Nina Turner, for that matter.)

@Centaurea but I can't help wondering who he would choose if he gained the nomination. It's hard to know whether Tulsi would be a huge asset or a huge liability, but I have no doubt that her selection would be an open declaration of war against TPTB. And as much as I respect Nina, I think she would be a net negative (I don't have a high opinion of the U.S. electorate). Beyond those two, I have no idea who he would consider. Warren would be a terrible idea, because he'll need every vote in the Senate he can get. Is there a democratic socialist out there who would easily step into Sanders' shoes and carry on with his policies?

someone we haven't thought of. In my view, the main thing is that he doesn't name an establishment centrist to placate the DNC.
