This pretty much sums up Obama's presidency

This is how hard he addressed the issues that we thought we were electing him to fix.

Partial video of the event, but not what the women said about his visit and why they were disappointed and disgusted by him.

A con man of the first water. Fewer and fewer are seeing him as a decent man. Just another neoliberal. When he was in his in first term and said to a bunch of reporters in a hamburger stand that he was the same as a 1960's moderate Republican, I couldn't believe that people gave him a pass. It was so obvious. I never made the mistake of voting for him again. I'm glad it's finally getting through to people what a phony, greedy person he is.

He and his neoliberal ilk are why this country is declining rapidly into economic and social disaster and why South America and Europe are now on fire with right-wing coups and massive demonstrations. With climate catastrophe and the power structures combining to purposely decimate the world population, I see nothing but historic calamity facing all of us. I just hope the 1% have to pay the piper as well.

People are waking up to how much of a disaster his presidency was. It's taken less time for people to see it than it did for them to see how bad Clinton's was.

Yep. Wealth inequality went way up during Obama's tenure to levels not seen since the Great Depression because he only bailed out the banks and some corporations. But let the rest of us sink or swim.

Yep to this too.

and why South America and Europe are now on fire with right-wing coups and massive demonstrations.

I recently read about ethnic cleansing in Ukraine by the neo Nazis we supported and still support. Thousands of people have died very horribly there but the media hasn't been covering it. This is where the latest weapons were going that Trump held up.

Obama not Putin is the war criminal in Ukraine

Lots more links included here and it's where I saw the one on ethnic cleansing. Obama was as viscous as Hillary was. He says he is sorry for what happened in Libya. Yeah so sorry that he did the same thing to Syria. And Ukraine.

much worse than '60s.

'60s moderate Republicans were basically a continuation of Eisenhower, under whose adminstration we had a +90% top marginal tax rate and a thriving middle/working class.

'80s moderate Republican = Reagan Republicans, "trickle down" economics, re-monopolization of banks and industries, regime change, kill the unions, "just say no", "the moral majority", etc.

Obama referred to himself as being like Reagan, in other words. That's how much of a progressive Obama is.

@Not Henry Kissinger They were charter school plants, sponsored by (I believe) the Waltons and others. There was something I read giving more insight to who they were, that they were from low income areas where public schools had been financially starved so charter schools were doing a better job. But that tHe protesters didn’t actually know who was funding them (as they were bussed in), etc. If I can find the link, I’ll add it. The bottom line of it was that the folks protesting seemed to be pawns in the 1% game and it really was kind of sad.

That said, Warren did a terrible job handling the situation. She’s only lucky she’s not Bernie as that clip would be playing on every news show from here until she leaves the race.

...I am SO GLAD to see Michael Moore's still on the case. Obviously, when I heard about the Flint disgracster (yes, I just made that up), I immediately thought of him.

I stopped watching The Daily Show and Stephen Colbert in 2016 some time after The Primary(TM) but before "11/9", partly because it wasn't helping the major depression that definitely blossomed in me that summer (and my mental health had been bad enough for years and years before), but primarily just because I'm really not a "scheduled hour+ of TV 4 nights/week most of the year" kind of person, and there'd already been a big gap in my viewership between 2011-2014, so I've been out of that loop for some time, BUT (Iknowrunonsentence) I've been worrying about whether they're still what they were under Dubya...so it is actively uplifting if we've still got Michael Moore keeping pace with the marathon.

I'd heard that after Dungeons & Dragons creator Gary Gygax died, there was an online crowdfunding project to erect a statue of him in his hometown (Lake Geneva, WI); has there been any talk of Flint getting a statue of its favored son (in addition to everything else)?

...I am SO GLAD to see Michael Moore's still on the case.

We've lost so many intellectually viable folks to the chaos of illogical delusions. Sometimes I am amazed that the laws of physics still function normally out here in the boondocks of the Milky Way. (Perhaps 'normally' is not the right term, when little patches of reality are disappearing and leaving gaps in the continuum.) Anyway, haha. How good that Michael Moore isn't one of the body-snatched.

I stopped watching The Daily Show and Stephen Colbert in 2016 some time after The Primary(TM) but before "11/9", partly because it wasn't helping the major depression that definitely blossomed in me that summer (and my mental health had been bad enough...

.
It is these long stretches of televised Public Gaslighting that offends me. It is intellectually insulting. The Hearings, Committees, Investigations — their purpose is to establish the Official Narrative that the Deep State and the Intelligence Community want the Americans to believe — instead of noticing their attempt to subvert the will of the People and overturn a Presidential election. During the current Impeachment hearings, they are patching up the Official Narrative of the Russian Collusion, which has grown shabby, and has a few gaping logic holes. So, they are inserting corrections and more elaborate details, and trotting our expert Authorities like John Brennan to double down on CrowdStrikes's nutty story about Russian hackers and Goldielocks and the Three Fancy Bears. Mind you, without offering a scintilla of verifiable physical evidence to show. All that the Intelligence Community has ever seen, as far as we know, is the original redacted report about the DNC server, sent over by CrowdStrike. Get this: CrowdStrike redacted the report themselves. Did the FBI ever even see the unreacted version? Chances are, the investigative forensics on the DNC server never really mattered. As far as I can ascertain, the unreacted CrowdStrike Report is still sitting in the safe at Marc Elias' Law Firm. Marc Elias is Hillary Clinton's lawyer. Elias introduced CrowdStrike to the DNC. CrowdStrike handled discrete IT gigs for the government. They have yet to read the unredacted version, because it really doesn't matter. The investigative forensics on this one never mattered.

Sometimes the 'Official Narrative' is so preposterous, it's quite breathtaking. And sometimes it is a tedious slog — like now — as they drill, anchor, and construct a scaffold of conjecture and assumptions into the brains of Americans. Their conjecture and assumptions must be believed so the Media Monopolies start churning out the propaganda until the people start using the 'official' trigger words and slogans. Finally, they drape the the scaffold of assumptions with their new and approved narrative, complete with a revised context and dynamic inferences that force People into a false conclusion. Without continuous revisions to counter the evidence-based facts that are starting to emerge, their official narratives develops logic holes and could come down ike a house cards.

Such is the state of the Public Gaslighting that takes place in the United States.

It requires intense critical thinking and analysis, and a focused command over the actual facts being distorted to escape the net and the soporific delusions that result in self-reinforcing epigenetic mutations in the brain that reprogram your synapses.

You've seen it. A generation of investigative journalists been lost to us, in the most tragic and feeble way. Similar to the way Alzheimer turns out the light behind behind. They are void of curiosity and the complex engine of logic is no longer in their tool box. They are now androids of the Great Delusion, obediently following the path that take us into the wars that must be fought to achieve global Empire. They are programmed to fight to the death, if necessary, so that the US Empire can seize control over all of the world's resources. This goal must be achieved to insure the survival of the 'select few.' Make no mistake. Americans have been on this forced march since 1921. The Neocons leading them from terrible war to terrible war are not pussyfooting around. They are hell-bent creatures.

There are, however, many properky-informed people in our midst who know exactly what is taking place. These informed individuals rely on verifiable, physical evidence to guide their conclusions. They are instantly alert to the lies and propaganda that bombard all of us daily. They are adapting. We are adapting and evolving in the same way the Social Media Giants are. Yin, by being Receptive is positioning in space-time to control Yang, the Creative Force, as if it was a spinning globe on the palm of her hand.

I've been worrying about whether they're still what they were under Dubya...so it is actively uplifting if we've still got Michael Moore keeping pace with the marathon.

.
They are still here, conferring and advising, and spreading the evil purpose of their murderous Empire. In fact, the Iraq collaborators have been popping up a lot, lately.

Let's not make it easy for these bastards.

Care for yourself, LM. Like the flu, these mind viruses are easy to pick up. Some of us have to "suit-up" in protective gear. We can absorb too much of the madness and chaos generated by the fearful delusions of the believers in this whacked-out nation.

in the beginning, because I was such a stockholm-syndromed mother that was supporting African mulatto kiddos (like my son and Obama both are). Back then I thought some folks in the US don't understand that the black African experience and the black American experience is not the same and I tended to be more gracious with Obama.

But then some video clips and speeches I was listening to in real life and in person, changed my mind about him. Here they are:

(quite some peacock up there I thought. )

I can't find the video clip of Michelle Obama's speech in the outdoor supportive rally for her husband at Bethesda Highschool in Washington DC. She basically made, imo, the mistake to mock working moms cook every day for their kids. 'That's insane', she said, 'cooking three times a week would be enough'. I just thought, but my kid is hungry every day. Whatever.

Here is another video from Michelle's speeches.
(Quite some strong ID policies using efforts to cuddle your emotions of being black and female and educated, I think.). But I guess what else should or could she have tried than that?

Then Obama spoke in Prague:

For some undefined reason I found this speech too slick. But couldn't pin it down. Below my paygrade, but my guts whispered something to me. The whisper was too faint but still audible.

The final emotions I had, when Obama came to Berlin in Germany and asked to speak in front of the Brandenburg Gate. He was denied that wish. I don't know who made that decision in Germany. Bu he was then allowed to speak at the Berlin 'Siegessäule' instead.
Listening to that speech I was for some undefined reason in support to deny him a speech in front of the Brandenburg Gate. I think I understood the Obama Mania from the German population after GWBush' utterings, but I found he (Obama) had not deserved (yet) such emotional support, as well he hasn't deserved the Nobel Peace Prize he got. It was all too much soemhow.

Yet I still feel somewhat uncomfortable to watch the deep feelings of resentments against him today. I wonder why there has not been the same, if not more resentments to his predecessor.

And when I heard this speech in front of the British Parliament, I just wasn't that interested anymore of the Obama rhetorical attempts to make no enemies with anyone anywhere.

I think it is time to get over Obama for those who still can't get their emotions under control when it comes to his Presidency. I think unwillingly you support the wrong people to grab for power, if you don't get 'over Obama'.

I still have to get over this one:
I was a bit angry, because I could laugh about some of the jokes, but found this slick and arrogant. But I take his advice now. Obama said Congress will shall should would refuse "the authority of a lame duck", so I will do the same.

The one who wrote the speeches for him was a devil genius. I vote for less hilarious speech writers now. With those kind of speeches my guts get the 'restless leg shit syndrome. And I am tired of that stuff in my pants.

Nothing for Ungood. Peace.

oil spill disaster, yes he blocked reporters and private citizens access to it but I remember Obama going to a restaurant and eating fish, that was reportedly 'fresh'.

That was such a lame show by Obama because who ,in their right mind, think he would be served anything taken from the Gulf of Mexico at that time?

I only voted for Obama once and that was more than enough. Instead I voted for Jill Stein in 2012, and in 2016 after Bernie was cheated out of the nomination.

up

@aliasalias I remember a person appeared on TOP at the time of the disaster who said she was an manager type in the oil industry. Maybe retired not sure. She seemed to know what she was talking about. She seemed pro-Obama at first but as the disaster continued became pretty enraged at the spill as she claimed that people in the know had the experience and knowledge to contain the spill, and that it was being handled utterly incompetently.

I do remember that the Coast Guard was ordered to back off, and information about the extent of the spill was not being made public. And that the shoreline where the spill reached became under total control by BP thugs who chased away reporters. I don't think even heliocopters were allowed to fly over the spill.

It was clear to me at that point that Obama's basic approach to problems was to hand over the solution to private groups (along with any financial supports). He revealed himself to be a total corporatist.

I voted for him first time and then Jill Stein in last two elections.

Obama's handling of the bp oil disaster was given over to them and it should have been criminal for them to spread corexit on not only the ocean, but over land, water and especially people. Many people got horribly sick from it and it got into their lungs and into drinking water. After that Obama reopened the area to drilling. He is still bragging about making us not dependent on foreign oil.. ugh!

Today John Kerry says that he is forming a coalition with other rich people to fight climate change. Not sure what a few people are going to accomplish as long as the militaries of the world are burning so much fossil fuel in their quest to get more. I just find that the height of stupidity. This was another thing Obama refused to address.

From 2010 to October 2014, the Obama administration approved more than 1,500 permit applications for offshore drilling plans that included fracking at hundreds of wells across the Gulf of Mexico, according to the documents.
