Midnight Mulling - Polite Arguments
Senior Linux will still be here when you return (hopefully). But with politics getting hot and heavy, how about an old-fashioned argument.
After all, some of the hottest arguments erupt after a sleepless night; a night - if you will - of Midnight Mulling!
The founders of the United States agreed: Political Parties are Bad. That's why some of the founders founded such gnarly parties. It was a defensive move. And had the opposition simply been - nicer - why, we would still be calling these, "The Era of Good Feelings." And school children would have less to remember - or would that be more to remember?
"Good Feelings" could be a slogan, a chapter, a question on a test; but who in the world came up with that particular wording?
"I bet it was Communist Martyrs High School Debate Team $23.99!"
(Machine Wash Cold)
Maybe, but still, 'Good feelings?'
Fortunately political parties have a role. For one, to get rid of "The Era of Good Feelings." But "The Era of Good Feelings" didn't disappear! Instead, it gained power as The United States Senate.
So "The Era of Good Feelings" sounds good, right? Like Senator Sanders. Like Senator Warren. Or Senator ... Well, I'm sure there are some others. Right?
Eh.
So let's consider some replacements for "The Era of Good Feelings."
Here's one: "The Era of Pooped Out Whatevers."
And look, there's Lucy! And the football!! And pom-poms!!!
Rah.

The
Era of the slow boat to China. Incrementalism sucks!
Regardless of the path in life I chose, I realize it's always forward, never straight.

Strange that a harp of thousand strings should keep in tune so long
For some reason
this is making my cats head-butt me... in tune.
But I will cover myself in fluffy things (not Merlin) and ignore the fur.
This is a effing great song. Thank you.

Lovely diary
Can I hide here?

That's the biggest question there is... I wish I knew the answer.

Thanks for stopping by
And since you used the word, "Lovely" so kindly, and since I was looking for a specific 'boat' song, yet also stumbled on this: [video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_G5Tt4AHVTI]
It was a new version to an old favorite.

If you have a spare few minutes
Wikileaks has posted over 30,000 of HRC's e-mails as a searchable database. It's entertaining and a little enlightening. She consulted Sid Blumenthal on darn near everything, and it looks like they actually believed that funding Syrian terrorists was going to work.
She's got plenty of experience, but none of it good.
"Obama promised transparency, but Assange is the one who brought it."
30,000?
Sound almost like a digital version of the Gish Gallop. Or is it the Fire-Hose technique?

Just taking a deep breath
Now that I've outed myself as a H vote, may I say that I love the way you all hold me feet to the fire?
If I may, I'm just gonna read for a while and learn.

No candidate is perfect - in my opinion
So what things matter, and - then - how many of those things are checked on the candidates list - right?
But people don't always choose candidates that way. At least not in 'fine grain.' People may not change for years, and then large changes move many. Sometimes surprising experts. And those same waves can surprise the voters too - in the privacy of the voting booth.
Some of the people behind the remaining candidates in the 2016 US Presidential race are very good at their jobs.
