UPDATE A perspective on why the Mueller Rpt won't be fully released
Yes, it's RedState, I know. But still this is an interesting analysis once you get by the political posturing BS.
Rep. Schiff, Democrats Demand The FULL Mueller Report, Here’s Why That Can’t Happen
This is a foolish request and it’s not going to happen.
Why? Because the DOJ is not allowed to publicly slander people, public official or not, if lines of investigation did not lead to criminal charges. Normal people agree this is a good rule. Imagine if a prosecutor in your home state went after you and had jack as far as evidence. Would it be proper for him to run to the local news and spread innuendo about how you are still guilty? Of course not. It’d be completely improper and a corrupt use of power.
There is also the matter of classified information and grand jury testimony, which also can not be legally released.
Once in the hands of Congress *cough cough Schiff cough cough* it's all gonna leak like a sieve anyway.
Good times.
See Barr memo to Congress, he's prohibited by law to disclose all, See Page 4 conclusion.
Mueller investigation finds no Trump campaign conspiracy with Russia

Naw...
Enough with the limited hangout gatekeeping. Throw it all out there.
We locked down the government for two years over this shit.
People have a right to see what all the fuss has/hasn't been about.
As far as slander goes, people can judge for themselves just how much BS it all really is, but not if they can't see it all first.
Bottom line: this is far more about protecting the corrupt foreign lobbying relationships (cough, Ukraine, cough) that BOTH sides profit from than it is about worrying about slandering Trump (as if).
Besides, if you just leave it up to Schiff to release what he likes, you're guaranteed to see just the most slanderous. Dump the whole thing and people can see the context.
The current working assumption appears to be that our Shroedinger's Cat system is still alive. But what if we all suspect it's not, and the real problem is we just can't bring ourselves to open the box?
So you're cool with
you've been accused of a crime and found innocent, then the Gubmint goes to the Newspapers and provides/releases confidential "testimony" that they are prohibited by law to disclose ---but we spent a lot of time and $$$ on this and we lost-- so, we still gotta screw this guy?
What's good for the goose is good for the gander?
What?
Prof: Nancy! I’m going to Greece!
Nancy: And swim the English Channel?
Prof: No. No. To ancient Greece where burning Sapho stood beside the wine dark sea. Wa de do da! Nancy, I’ve invented a time machine!
Firesign Theater
Stop the War!
These are not private actors.
So the threshold for withholding based on concern for the reputation of the 'innocent' defendants is significantly lowered, while the public interest in transparency about this important issue of government malfeasance (by both Trump AND Mueller) outweighs any minor concerns about the affect on DC pols.
FYI: Trump was not 'found innocent' (there is no such thing in law), nor was he found 'not guilty' after a trial. He was simply not prosecuted because the prosecutor found that the evidence did not rise to the level of the charge of collusion. That doesn't mean that there is no evidence of crime, just that the evidence didn't fit the charge.
But I still want to see what they have on Trump. I also want to see what cockamamie and unethical lengths Mueller went to to shoehorn a collusion charge into it. I also want some sunshine on all the sleazy dealings both groups have with the Ukrainians and the Brit spooks. After being subjected to two years of this dog and pony show, the public has a right to know everything.
And let's face it, redacting the Mueller report has little to do with the 'reputations' of the actors and everything to do with protecting both Trump and Mueller from further disclosure of their corrupt practices.
They all deserve to burn here. Release the report.
The current working assumption appears to be that our Shroedinger's Cat system is still alive. But what if we all suspect it's not, and the real problem is we just can't bring ourselves to open the box?
Right you are, NHK!
Let 'em all fuckin' sink or swim (man, am I good at swimming). Notice the Jerome Corsi law suit against the SC, Corsi correctly refused to plead guilty to something he didn't do (a process crime) nothing to indict Corsi even in the SC material--that is, as far as we know. Corsi has a $250 M lawsuit against the special grand
inquisitorcounsel for its attempt make a false plea in return for lenient sentencing. Now the curtain has literally been dropped, leaving Corsi a somewhat better result in his lawsuit.Oh, politics can be so much fun!
