Russia Gate was Hillary and Obama's Insurance Plan if Trump won the Election

Obama DOJ Told FBI Not To Charge Hillary, Lisa Page Reveals What The 'Insurance Policy' Was

One of the biggest revelations was that Page, who was having an affair with then-FBI agent Peter Strzok, said that the infamous "insurance policy" text message was referring to the Russia investigation.

"During her interview with the Judiciary Committee in July 2018, Page was questioned at length about that text — and essentially confirmed this referred to the Russia investigation while explaining that officials were proceeding with caution, concerned about the implications of the case while not wanting to go at 'total breakneck speed' and risk burning sources as they presumed Trump wouldn't be elected anyway," Fox News reported. "Further, she confirmed investigators only had a 'paucity' of evidence at the start."
....
In an August 15, 2016 text message, Strzok texted Page: "I want to believe the path you threw out for consideration in [deputy FBI director Andrew McCabe’s] office that there's no way he gets elected -- but I'm afraid we can't take that risk. It's like an insurance policy in the unlikely event you die before you're 40…"

The Daily Wire's Ben Shapiro wrote the following about the text message when it was released in December 2017:

This looks an awful lot like motivation for launching an investigation into Trump in order to sink Trump as a hedge against Trump’s victory. The FBI’s investigation into Russian governmental interference in the election began in July 2016, just weeks before Strzok’s text message. And that means that there is now more of a smoking gun of FBI corruption against Trump than there is of Trump colluding with Russia.

....
"When you say advice you got from the Department, you’re making it sound like it was the Department that told you: 'You’re not going to charge gross negligence because we’re the prosecutors and we’re telling you we’re not going to," Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-TX) said to Page.

"That's correct," Page responded.

Ratcliffe tweeted out an excerpt of Page's testimony, writing: "Lisa Page confirmed to me under oath that the FBI was ordered by the Obama DOJ not to consider charging Hillary Clinton for gross negligence in the handling of classified information."

This is very interesting if it's true and if it is what then? We know that Strzok changed the wording of Comey's report from gross negligence to something innocuous that would allow her to skate. Hmmm..did Nancy make a deal with Trump over this? We won't impeach you and you don't investigate this.

The fact that Obama's administration and Hillary and the FBI and CIA had planned to stick Trump with being in Russia's pockets should be a huge scandal and being covered by the main stream media. That it's not speaks for itself. Here we have an outgoing administration not only planning on interfering with the incoming president, but then following through with it should have even the non Trumpers upset.

What happened during the election by Obama and crew was that they spied on and tried to entrap people from Trump's campaign to hobble his presidency. If this gets ignored then that will say a lot about democracy and the rule of law in this country.

Trump knows about this, but im doubting that he is going to do anything since he still hasn't released the original FISA warrant that would show that the Mueller investigation is a bigger farce than what we think it is. Congress has also spent two years investigating something that didn't happen.
I am beyond thoroughly disgusted by this news.

She is one of them. Wouldn't impeach Bush, won't impeach Trump. No need to cut a deal.

I am surprised that there have been so few comments on this latest revelation. All the testimony and evidence should be released without redactions like EdMass says. The American people have a right to know just how broken and corrupt our government is. The Russiagate story is just one example. Instead we are getting the information drip by drip. It makes you wonder why they are doing this slow release.

@gulfgal98

obsessed with reading through her testimony and shocked that there isn't more commentary, at least from the right, on the way she answers, the assumptions she appears to be working under, and the switching from giant patriotism in the form of reciting Russia being our worst ever adversary and then suddenly that she and Pete really weren't that interested in the investigation unless it was going to lead to their own promotion and fame, a la Watergate.

The pdf I'm reading won't let me copy and paste text, so I haven't commented with examples, but when I solve that problem I hope to comment soon.

@gulfgal98

I thought was pretty important, quoted here at ZeroHedge:

https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2019-03-13/explosive-lisa-page-testimony-...

… Page expresses in her testimony that during the investigation into the Trump campaign there was a sentiment at the time among bureau officials regarding the president’s electability: nobody believed he would win.

“So, upon the opening of the crossfire hurricane investigation, we had a number of discussions up through and including the Director regularly in which we were trying to find an answer to the question, right, which is, is there someone associated with the [Trump] campaign who is working with the Russians in order to obtain damaging information about Hillary Clinton,” states Page.

Together with her other testimony about Russia being our worst adversary ever, she seems to be demonstrating that there is no crime in the DNC working with the British in order to obtain damaging information about Trump, but there is a crime if the Trump campaign worked with the Russians in order to obtain damaging information about Clinton, not because there's a foreign power involved but because one is an adversary and the other isn't.

....there was not a shred of evidence that Trump colluded with the Russians.

Of course, there is still none.

It's hard to say what Trump has. The FBI had his phones tapped in the Summer 2016. No one tried to get a FISA warrant until September. He must know that. Susan Rice was working off of the summer tapping, collecting names of callers in and out, then spying on them and their contacts and so forth. They had a huge number of names. 72 students at American University were running them all through the NSA database and analyzing them. Mariia Butina was part of that group.

@Pluto's Republic from this investigation is fruit of the poisonous tree.

All of the other people who fell into Mueller's hunt need to be exonerated, released, reimbursed by the government for their expenses and paid damages.

I can't believe some repubs think it is just fine that Manafort is going to jail. They aren't concerned about equal application of the law just like the dems.

I'm not a lawyer, but it seems there might be cause of action for a class action amongst these people.

Maybe someone who knows will weigh in.

It's just so out there, it's unbelievable, but it's true. Is it too late to charge all of these people, including Obama and Co. for collusion, as well as Hillary and Co. (not sure why, any, much less so very much ended up on Weiner's laptop, though. Didn't his wife have her own laptop?) for mishandling classified information?

And, since Comey and Co. were grossly negligent in their handling of the Hillary non-investigation investigation, can the immunity deals be rescinded based on that fact?

@Deja

but I know that Comey gave people on Hillary's staff immunity and then he never spoke with them. Then there's the Huber investigation into the FBI's handling of its investigation which has only been released in the redacted form. But what it did show is that they flubbed it big time and that's why what Page has stated here means so much. Not in the sense that something is going to be done about it, but that we the public know that Hillary broke the law and should have been charged under the espionage act like Chelsea, John and the others Obama charged. Two justice systems in this country.

Sumner is once again being very selective with what he puts in his diary.

Strzok: So my use of the term “insurance policy” was simply to say, while the polls or people might think it less likely that then-candidate Trump would be elected, that should not influence—that should not get in the way of us doing our jobs responsibly.

Yeah. This makes total sense. Not. And no mention of what Page said the insurance policy meant. Oh well I guess I could be biased too because I haven't dug through the transcripts that are for some reason being released. But looking at the two definitions of "insurance policy" I'd say someone is lying. I'm betting that Mueller will be all over that. Right?

BTW. I've mentioned in the past that I have seen references to what the Obama administration and democrats would do if Trump won, but try as I might I can't find the article. But what we have watched for two f'cking years is exactly what was going to happen if he did.

Trump...release the damn FISA warrant and everything else that shows how this witch hunt was a setup!

There is some interesting things discussed here that many of us have been following. Namely the Q phenomenon. Most of us have decided to wait and see if something happens then there has been another investigation being done behind the scenes regarding the FBI's investigation into Hillary's private email server and the Steele dossier stuff.

No I will not apologize for using Fox News because the mainstream media won't touch any of this with a ten foot pole.

Can this get any more incestous? Nellie who worked for Fusion GPS was married to Bruce Ohr who worked for the justice department. Gulfgal asked why this is coming out now? Could it be because Mueller is close to finally being finished with his investigation and he will say that no, Trump and Vlad did not collude to steal the election from Herheinous and it's a way to defuse the news? People are already very upset with Nancy's 'impeachment is off the table. Again."

Nellie Ohr Testimony Confirms Her Work for the CIA

Nellie Ohr, the wife of former high-ranking Justice Department (DOJ) official Bruce Ohr—both of whom played pivotal roles in the FBI’s investigation into the Trump 2016 presidential campaign—worked for the CIA as an independent contractor for as long as six years.

Ohr was hired as a researcher by Fusion GPS—the company hired by the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee to produce the now-infamous Steele dossier—in 2015.

She conducted open-source research into members of the Trump campaign for Fusion GPS—which describes itself as a commercial research and strategic intelligence firm—that may have been used in the Steele dossier. She also provided her husband with a USB stick containing all her research from her time at Fusion GPS to pass on to the FBI in late 2016 after she had officially left the firm.
....
According to a transcript of an Oct. 19, 2018, closed-door testimony, which was reviewed by The Epoch Times, Ohr acknowledged to congressional investigators that she worked as an independent contractor for “various agencies in the United States Government.”

Ohr testified that she worked for the CIA’s Open Source Works (OSW) division. She also revealed that prior to her work for the CIA, she worked for Mitre, which is funded by the U.S. government and interacts with various intelligence agencies.

Ms. Ohr: “Starting in 2000, I did some part-time contracting for Mitre, which is a contract –“

Rep. Jordan: “I’m sorry, I didn’t hear you.”

Ms. Ohr: “Mitre. Mitre Corporation, which in turn had contracts with U.S. Government clients.”

Rep. Jordan: “Got it.”

Ms. Ohr: “Through most of 2008. And then starting in 2008, I worked for Open Source Works.”

Mitre Corp. is a “not-for-profit company that operates multiple federally funded research and development centers (FFRDCs).” In other words, Mitre is a government-funded enterprise that conducts research for the U.S. government.

Of greater interest was Ohr’s employment as an independent contractor for OSW, the CIA’s internal open-source division.
....
In 2010, Ohr was listed as a participant on a June 2010 DOJ report, “Expert Working Group Report on International Organized Crime.” Ohr was described as “Nellie Ohr, Researcher, Open Source Works, Washington DC.”

Listed on the same page were her husband, Bruce Ohr, and Glenn Simpson, who was, at the time, a “Senior Fellow, International Assessment and Strategy Center.”

As the report notes, “In January of 2010, the International Center of the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) assembled international experts and practitioners to assess the state of research on international organized crime (IOC).” It may have been here that Bruce and Nellie Ohr first met Simpson.

Beginning in September 2015, Ohr began working for Fusion GPS. Ohr told investigators that she “read an article in the paper that mentioned Glenn Simpson. And I remembered because he had been a Wall Street Journal reporter, working on things like Russian crime and corruption, so I recognized the name. I was underemployed at that time and I was looking for opportunities.”

When later questioned as to her previous knowledge of Simpson, Ohr stated, “I had been at a conference that he was at. I don’t recall directly talking with him at that conference, and I don’t know whether he knew who, you know, who I was other than the fact that I attended that conference.”

Ohr acknowledged to congressional investigators that Simpson was acquainted with her husband:

(see article for her testimony about that)
....
In court documents filed on Dec. 12, 2017, Simpson referred to Ohr as a “former government official expert.” Simpson said Ohr was hired “to help our company with its digging up dirt as in opposition research research and analysis of Mr. Trump.”

Ohr admitted in her testimony to having researched Trump campaign adviser Carter Page, campaign chairman Paul Manafort, Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, as well as members of then-candidate Donald Trump’s family, including his children.

“I was asked to research Trump’s family broadly in connection with any – any Russian connections,” Ohr said.

The plot continues to thicken....

Good grief. I wish I had the time to look at everything we have posted here about this so I could post it in a running essay where we could go back and look at what we have already covered here. If anyone else who has covered this is interested in having some type of essay key let me know. People could send me links to their essays and I could put this together.

This site has posted some excellent works on this debacle since it started and we should take a bow!
