Well that settles it

Who are you to question Captain America?
And yes, that is a real news story.

So is this one.

bot.PNG

But if you really want to sum it up, I suggest headlines like these.

bots.PNG

It brings up the important question: What happens when we are all Russian bots?

bots1.PNG

Oh wait, we already have the answer to that question.

American descendants of slaves identifying themselves with the hashtag #ADOS have been openly critical of 2020 presidential candidates Kamala Harris and Cory Booker over the past weeks.

Some prominent black political commentators are now speculating that these critics are Russian bots.

Angela Rye, a CNN political commentator and board member of the Congressional Black Caucus PAC, has said she believes that some ADOS arguments are not organic, but were “paid for by Russia.” She added that she’s “not saying everyone who uses the hashtag is a Russian bot,” but she does believe “it originated from Russian bots.”
...
On a segment of Joy Reid’s MSNBC show titled “how to spot a bot,” Shireen Mitchell, founder of Stop Online Violence Against Women, argued that the ADOS hashtag is a way to identify foreign influence. “A lot of the ones that are pretending to be black people, black women in particular, who are focusing on black identity, have these sort of aspects in the ways that they’re talking about language,” she said. She went on to say that bots are posing as black Americans using “the vernacular or the language of someone that believes they are a part of our community” to claim authority to represent black Americans.

“This has become a challenge particularly for the Democratic candidates because obviously, in 2016, all this activity was directed to help Donald Trump, or to hurt Hillary Clinton, to do both,” Reid said.

Could MSNBC and CNN pundits, the very same pundits that repeatedly slandered and lied about Sanders supporters, be disingenuous?
Not when we are talking about Russia.

Moore said that accusations like Reid’s are a McCarthyite tactic in the same vein as the attempts to publicly discredit Martin Luther King Jr. “It’s troubling, the lengths that these people will go to undermine authentic Black advocacy in order to prop up the Democratic establishment,” he said in an email. An MSNBC spokesperson declined to comment.

Indeed, people of color who challenge the Democratic Party from the left are often erased or dismissed as somehow not being real. During the 2016 Democratic primary, the hashtag #BernieMadeMeWhite spread as a response to the “Bernie Bro” stereotype, which wrongly claimed that nearly all Bernie Sanders supporters were young white men.

Being black and a woman won't protect you from being slandered when you dissent on the only "identity" that matters - partisan loyalty.

People of any color who challenge the Democratic Party from the left are bigger enemies than Republicans.
You see, "moderates" are the most rabidly partisan.
This is the exact opposite of what the news media tries to sell us, and yet it is obvious.
With little of ideological substance to distinguish them from their opponents, partisan tribal-based politics is the only game in town.

just like Her did. Well at least Harris waited until she declared unlike Her who did it before she did and while she was still giving paid speeches to the banks. Barbara Lee is getting slammed for joining Harris' campaign as the woman who was a big part of the civil rights movement. People are patiently waiting for John Lewis to line up behind her.

Nope. Not a damn thing has changed since last election. So either the fix is in for Harris or the super delegates will split and Hillary will be installed at the convention. I'm still going with this. Especially since she is still paying her staff.

he grand total for all political ad spending in the 2016 election cycle, according to Advertising Age, was $9.8bn. The ads allegedly produced by inmates of a Russian troll farm, which have made up this week’s ration of horror and panic in the halls of the American punditburo, cost about $100,000 to place on Facebook.
...
For thoughts on the finely tuned calculations behind this propaganda campaign, the Washington Post on Saturday turned to Brian Fallon, a former Hillary Clinton press secretary, who referred to the alleged Russian effort as follows: “It seems like the creative instincts and the sophistication exceeds a lot of the US political operatives who do this for a living.”

Of what, specifically, did this sophistication consist? In what startling insights was this creativity made manifest? “Fallon said it was stunning to realize that the Russians understood how Trump was trying to woo disaffected [Bernie] Sanders supporters ...”

The Post added a few suspicious examples of its own. The Russian trolls figured out that battleground states were important. And: they tried to enlist disgruntled blue-collar voters in what the paper called the “rust belt”.

Okay, stop here. Since when is it a marker of political sophistication to know that some states are more persuadable than others? Or to understand that blue-collar voters are an important demographic these days?

If you’re one of those people who frets about our democracy being in serious danger, I contend that the above passages from the Post’s report should push your panic meter deep into the red.

This is the reason why: we have here a former spokesman for Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign, one of the best-funded, most consummately professional efforts of all time, and he thinks it was an act of off-the-hook perceptiveness to figure out that Trump was aiming for disgruntled Sanders voters. Even after Trump himself openly said that’s what he was trying to do.

For a veteran politico to be stunned by this unremarkable fact, one of two things has to be true: either Democratic “political operatives” are incredibly bad at what they do, or else they are feigning amazement in order to get themselves off the hook for the lousy job they did in 2016. They themselves blew millions and came up empty, but to this handful of bargain-basement Russian trolls they ascribe all manner of ability. Clinton’s glittering Jedi army was simply powerless against them.

I like the guy, really. I've known him for a long time. I'm not sure, though, where his head is at, with posts like this...

"Heard an interesting comment that a lot of this anti-vaxxing argument is being perpetrated via Russian troll farms that seek to sow divisiveness and distrust in the US...and have found a receptive audience. Given what we are learning these days about such intervention in our public life, I would not be surprised."

It indicates that anything out of mainstream thinking can be dismissed by claiming, with no evidence of course, that it's from a russian bot.

This is the scary part:

They know we know. They know we know that they know we know.

And their still doing it.

My guess is this (along with WoB) is just the beginning. My tinfoil-brain guess is there will be a mass purge from Twitter, Reddit, Book-Face et al. All in the name of protecting us from Russian meddling.

Will they come for C99? Would not be surprised if they do, Comrades.

Happy Friday.
