Schiff questions Mueller’s approach on Deutsche Bank

Let me ask a stupid question please. Where does Shifty get the authority to open investigations against Deutsche Bank and Trump in order to FIND something he can try to use in this endless saga of Dimocritic perfidy? Can he do this to anybody? Has this jackass no restraints or restrictions?

Schiff questions Mueller’s approach on Deutsche Bank

House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff on Sunday raised doubts about the extent to which special counsel Robert Mueller has probed President Donald Trump's dealings with Deutsche Bank, bolstering Democrats' case for moving ahead with an investigation into the German lender.

On NBC's "Meet the Press," the California Democrat cited reporting that Trump had had once sought to fire Mueller over reports that investigators had subpoenaed Deutsche Bank — crossing a "red line" into his family's finances — but that the president backed down after being told the claims were inaccurate.

"If the special counsel hasn't subpoenaed Deutsche Bank, he can't be doing much of a money laundering investigation," Schiff said.
“So, that's what concerns me — that that red line has been enforced, whether by the deputy attorney general or by some other party at the Justice Department. But that leaves the country exposed."

*

"If we had waited to do any of our investigative work for the Mueller investigation, we would have been waiting a year and a half," Schiff said. "We have a separate and independent and important responsibility, and that is to tell the country what happened."

How does this work? Can false accusations be made by anyone using fake evidence? If the evidence doesn’t pan out, can it STILL be used to as justification to pillage and plunder through someone’s life in order to hopefully find **something** that can be used to bring, or threaten to bring, federal charges against someone?

And shouldn’t Shifty be under investigation for leaking and lying??

Bruce Ohr's testimony on anti-Trump dossier at odds with Adam Schiff's version

Senior Justice Department official Bruce Ohr has provided a point-by-point narrative of his actions promoting the 2016 Democratic Party-financed dossier that conflicts with Rep. Adam B. Schiff’s official version, according to a comparison of the two.

*

Point by point

⦁ Mr. Schiff’s report downplayed Mr. Ohr’s dossier role. At the time, Mr. Ohr was an associate deputy attorney general who reported to the No. 2 official in the Justice Department.

“The majority mischaracterizes Bruce Ohr’s role, overstates the significance of his interaction with Steele. … Bruce Ohr took the initiative to inform the FBI of what he knew and the Majority does him a grave disservice by suggesting he is part of some malign conspiracy,” the Schiff report states.

Ohr testimony: For months, Mr. Ohr was the key link among the FBI, Mr. Steele and Fusion GPS, the firm that handled him as he submitted anti-Trump memos from June to December 2016

*

⦁ Mr. Schiff’s report said Mr. Ohr didn’t go to the FBI with the Steele allegations until November 2016, a month after the FBI executed its first spy warrant on Carter Page. Mr. Schiff’s timeline asserts that Mr. Ohr’s feed had no effect on the FBI’s FISA applications.

Ohr testimony: Mr. Schiff’s chronology is wrong. Mr. Ohr first met with Mr. Steele in July and personally conveyed the allegations at FBI headquarters in August to Andrew McCabe, the bureau’s No. 2 agent, and his legal counsel, Lisa Page.

*

⦁ Mr. Schiff’s report defended the FBI against Mr. Nunes‘ charge that the bureau hid the dossier’s pure partisanship. The California Democrat pointed to a FISA warrant application footnote: “The FBI speculates that the identified U.S. person was likely looking for information that could be used to discredit candidate #1’s campaign.”

The “U.S. person” was Fusion GPS co-founder Glenn Simpson.

Ohr testimony: When meeting with the FBI before the FISA application, Mr. Ohr knew Fusion was linked to the Clinton camp and warned Mr. McCabe that Mr. Steele was “desperate” to sink Mr. Trump.

In other words, the FBI knew firsthand of Fusion’s motives, as opposed to “speculates.”

*

House Democrats have said they have no interest in continuing the probe into Mr. Steele or into how the FBI investigated Mr. Trump.

Republicans call for inquiry into House Intel panel's Russia investigation leaks

Republicans are calling on lawmakers to open an inquiry into the House Intelligence Committee after members of the press received "privileged information" that was leaked from a closed-door interview earlier this month with the president's oldest son.

Reps. John Ratcliffe (R-Texas), Lee Zeldin (R-N.Y.) and Mia Love (R-Utah) sent a letter on Monday to Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) urging them to investigate the leaks. Their request comes one week after Donald Trump Jr. asked the House Intelligence panel to investigate how information from his meeting on Dec. 6 made it into the hands of the press.

Fox's Levin challenges Schiff over alleged leaks: 'Take a lie detector test'

"I have a challenge for you: Why don't you take a lie detector test? Why don't you take a lie detector test so the American people can be sure that you, all over TV, ubiquitous, you might as well be on airport radar and sonograms. You're everywhere, sir," the conservative radio talk show host added.

"You tell us you don't leak. OK, take a lie detector test because I believe you do."

I cannot understand the silence of Trump at all. He has all of the relevant documents that he needs to turn this around. I do not not not want to go through this until the election at end of NEXT YEAR. And I’d just try to ignore it, but I can’t.

Personally, I CAN resist at looking at a bad accident. But this political train wreck? I (we) have too much at stake. We need to know. And this needs to end. Too much important news about Afghanistan, Syria, the Ukraine, Venezuela,the economy, Trump’s tax ‘reform’, immigration, and climate change is being slipped under the rug. This is sucking all the air out of the room. It’s taking money we drastically need for other things. It’s got to stop.

hot water clear up to the tips of their pointy little heads. It’s apparently the ‘left’s’ turn to be bigger and more dangerous threats to us instead of the Repubbies, who have their own agenda.

And both sides are on the take. Citizens United took any power the people might have had and turned the country and the government over to the 1% and the MIC. The oligarchs are in control and we aren’t even included in their list of concerns (while they build their bunkers).

Do you get all your talking points from Mark Levine, the Washington Examiner, and the Washington Times?

your manners and civility?

At this point in my life I’ve come to understand that the last place you can find ANY tidbit of info ISN’T coming from the WP & NYT, the propaganda rags of the so-called ‘left’.

I don't pretend to.

But Dimocrits? That's a Republican meme. Who's the real Communist here? I call them Class Traitors.

At least you know your own limitations. Or at least one of them.

EDIT: ‘Dimocrit’ is a Republican meme? I had never seen it anywhere and one day I figured the name fit. Since then, i’ve Been using it for months.

Is that all you’ve got? No information to provide, just name calling and arrogant rudeness?

You’re kind of pitiful, you know it?

@Amanda Matthews

Unique to you?

My advice is to trademark and copyright it.

I'd argue facts except you have none and Mark Levine is a Right Wing commentator on Faux Noise and I Heart Radio which also syndicates Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, the Washington Examiner is a part of the Philip Anschutz Media Empire which includes Coachella and "is known for its conservative political stance and features many prominent conservative writers.", and the Washington Times is owned by Moonies.

Forgive me if I don't find your sources particularly credible.

So far in this petty snit you’re throwing all you’ve accomplished is to show your ass. Nothing of substance, just petty neener neener neener childish remarks about ‘sources’.

People here are smart enough to go anywhere the truth can be found. All that I’ve posted is provable because it was right leaning blogs like Judicial Watch who got it through FOIA suits. So while I post verifiable facts, you piss and moan about sources.

EDIT: snot/snit

I've known you for a long time and I'm well aware that you have no manners and civility, and I consider your first comment in this sub-thread rather tame in that regard. But tit for tat it escalates.

We do not do the fight club thing here though, but you know that.

@JtC

But seriously, this is the kind of dialog you encourage? I have been nothing except excruciatingly correct, but on your advice I will cease. I can't imagine why this community tolerates these sentiments which seem entirely out of place for a site that purports to represent the 99%.

As I said, I have other priorities and will not darken your door for a time.

@ek hornbeck
the 99% involves more that just the left, right? If you were around more than just popping in about once a year then you'd know that we are non-partisan here. Everyone is invited to play as long as they are civil to one another. We even get pro Trump pieces here. It may be that that doesn't sit well with you, but that's how we roll.

@ek hornbeck If you are going to criticize, please use facts. Guilt by association (such as information sources) is unseemly. Evaluate the facts, not the source(s). I obtain my information from multiple sources, including "the other side" (such as Mark Levin). If you don't know what the opposition is doing, you've lost not only the initiative but also likely the battle.

@Alligator Ed

Sources matter a great deal. Should I cite Charles Murray on the intellectual inferiority of Blacks you might be correct to question my motivations and attitudes.

@ek hornbeck Instead of naming an author, about whom I know nothing, it would be better to quote the rationale for your comment than merely allude to it. There is a great deal of literature already about the biologic basis, and therefore genetic, determinants of intelligence. My purpose is not to discuss them here but to once again recommend that ad hominems be eschewed in favor of rationality.

@ek hornbeck
that way. often it is obvious by the time they are 2 years old. and i'm not talking about weird prodigies, the one in a million types, i'm talking about the top 1 in 100 to 1 in 10000. denying the genetic factor influencing intelligence is as irrational (and contradicted by the evidence) as denying the genetic factor influencing height, or eye color, or physical stamina, or body shape, or whatever.

this fact does not redeem Murray's egregiously malreasoned abuse of a rather select set of statistics to promote his grotesque reinvention of social darwinism.

Is that a leap of faith or a demonstration of your mind-reading powers? Oh, pardon me. Your telepathic abilities have overcome my sensibilities about ad hominem remarks. From the above quote, where do you find support or rebuttal to anyone's ideas?
