Merry Christmas Fellow Inmates
Let Nothing Dismay http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/50832.htm
I should probably just let this stand and see what happens in the comments-I just got One question; Big Al, is this your alter ego?
Righteous Rant ensues:
'Then there’s the goat’s nest of our Syrian tarbaby that a few deranged flacks still describe as policy. Once the U.S. had an objective. Dishonest, shameful, dirty, sure, but an objective: Assad must go. After Obama lied unctuously and bullshat his way through 11 sorry iterations of that cynical saga--spooning ISIS, Ahrar al-Sham, freelance killer Jihadis and Wahhabi assassins--the Russians, weary of his arrant incompetence, went all in and spiked the fantasy. Jabba the Trump ran his cost/benefit analysis, declared victory and bailed, whereat the Imperial Politburo explosively crapped itself.'
I don't know Who this guy Paul Edwards is, I just Know he's Funny as F@ck if it wasn't so true. A little(a LOT) of irreverent humour. Hope you saved room for dessert.
Enjoy!

This has some rhetoric I can appeciate.
For example, the author wonders exactly how all of the murder and mayhem that the US rains down upon the Syrian people provides a benefit to ordinary, everyday Americans:
I could show you everything you need to know about the formatting of posts in 90 seconds. But since I am not there, I'll pass along tips when I can. Here's one: Hit "return" twice (or as much as you like) between ideas or paragraphs. That will insert one clean line or paragraph space into the text you publish. I calculate you need at least three of these for readability. It's a start. Don't stop.
He had me at "spooning Isis" and kept me with
"Jabba the Trump."
Kinda why
Like I said funny if it weren't so true.

I'm glad you posted it. He's obviously a gifted writer.
A funny one, too, which makes him priceless in my assessment. His politics seem to be in line with mine, so he probably won't tick me off like some of the writers who urged me to vote for Hillary. Also, I far prefer reading--skimming, if and when I feel like it--to watching or listening to a video, which are seldom fast enough for me.
This one is my favorite of the zingers:
Slightly edited for your enjoyment.
While I'm at it, here's another tip: Create a gray box around passages you have quoted from elsewhere. Select or highlight the entire passage, as if you were going to copy it. Then, look at the top of the text box you are writing in and click on the little box with the quote marks inside. "
That will add code to that highlighted passage. When you publish it, it will appear in a gray box that tells Readers that you are quoting this material.
Sweet!
And thanks for the tips.

"Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy,
which shall be to all people." (From somewhere in Luke 2, King James version)
When I began posting here, I typed some text that I never intended to post and then experimented with highlighting and clicking on each of the buttons about the box to see what they did. The first is for posting an image, the second is for posting a video and the third is for creating a link of some of the text that you typed. IIRC, all the rest are for doing various things to your text.
Additionally, JtC recently posted that he did a new set of Frequently Asked Questions. I have not checked it yet, but it's probably an excellent resource.
