Strzok-Page texts reveal 'coordinated' FBI leak strategy to harm Trump, GOP congressman claims

Strzok-Page texts reveal 'coordinated' FBI leak strategy to harm Trump, GOP congressman claimsNew documents provided to Congress raise “grave concerns” about an “apparent systemic culture of media leaking” among high-level FBI and Justice Department officials to release information damaging to President Trump, a top Republican congressman charged in a letter to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein on Monday.
In the letter, Rep. Mark Meadows, R-N.C., points in particular to two text message exchanges in April 2017 between now-fired FBI agent Peter Strzok and former FBI attorney Lisa Page, in which the two discuss the bureau's "media leak strategy."
"I had literally just gone to find this phone to tell you I want to talk to you about media leak strategy with DOJ before you go," Strzok texted Page on April 10, 2017, according to Meadows, who cited newly produced documents from the Justice Department.
Two days later, Strzok wrote, "Well done, Page," and told her that two negative articles about Page's "namesake" would soon come out. That was an apparent reference to Carter Page, the former Trump adviser whom the FBI surveilled for months after obtaining a warrant from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) court.
The FBI and DOJ declined to comment. Fox News also reached out to lawyers for Strzok and Page; they did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Nellie Ohr should have told these two fuckeits to get a ham radio operators license.
But then again, since everyone thought Slithery had it in the bag they probably figured they didn’t have to worry about covering their tracks. No one would **ever** know what they did to this poor country.

I wonder what happened to Warner & Schiff
all of a sudden. They had their mugs in front of the camera every single day for months.
Are they hiding out with Mifsud, I wonder?

I'm happy to see that his actions are being looked into
but it seems kinda silly that people who committed torture weren't charged for it or the many other people who committed worse crimes then McCabe did.
And if he is found guilty then Brennan, Clapper and others should also be charged for doing the same thing.
The ideal subject of totalitarian rule is not the convinced Nazi or the dedicated communist, but people for whom the distinction between fact and fiction, true and false, no longer exists.

?Huh? “people who committed torture weren't charged for it”
Who tortured who?

This stuff is coming out very slowly
and the picture it is painting is very ugly. People in the highest levels of our government were trying to subvert our election process using the tools of government to do so. I really wish the 20 redacted pages of the fourth FISA warrant on Carter Page would be released. If reports of those who have seen it are true, it may lead directly to Obama himself.
The American people willingly gave up some of our rights for what we believed to be a measure of security. Now we are beginning to see how those in power abused those powers.

It’s a big club...
and we ain’t in it!

Those who control governance in the United States have no intention of ceding power to non Club Members. This quintessential clip from George Carlin spell it all out in three remarkable minutes. Trump is not in the club, any more than Bernie is or we are.
Ours is a Potemkin Democracy, not a functional one.

NYT, WaPo not covering this at all
All pretense of journalistic objectivity and the old cover-and-quote-both-sides in political reporting have been totally abandoned by the Establishment media. If you don't read the RW media, you don't get any of this side of things.
Many Americans are going to be in for a rude, angry shock when they learn these details of the parallel conspiracies in the White House Basement and at CIA/FBI/DOJ to use foreign intelligence assets to carry out illegal surveillance, monkey wrench the election, lie to the courts and the public, and cover their tracks.
There will be a reckoning, like the Iraq WMD aftermath at those papers and for the politicized Intelligence Community. When historians chronicle the disintegration of politics and the press in America, Russiagate will be a case study in journalistic corruption and FBI institutional suicide. If, indeed, there is no reckoning, and they get away with it, the democratic process in this country is through.
Remind me.
What was that aftermath?
Some of the very same war criminals are actually involved in the current sabotage of the nation.
Other than that, I totally connect with what you are saying.
The real fault falls upon the
4th Estate, principally the mainstream news media, which has done everything in their power to subvert what little democracy we had in the United States. While the news media has never been unbiased, there was enough competition among the various media sources to ensure that news such as the illegal FISA warrants or the Awan spy scandal would receive some coverage. Instead, the bulk of the American public has very little or no knowledge of these important events.
Chalk much of this up to the Telecommunications Act of 1996 passed under the watchful eye of Bill Clinton. God, I hate the Clintons. This bill allowed for consolidation of media ownership that has now resulted in six mega corporations controlling 90% of what we see and hear via the media.

Ahem
The text was sent April 10, 2017. I'm pretty sure they didn't think Hillary was going to run away with it.

I’m talking about the whole plan, from
beginning to end. The purchase of the DNC by the Clinton cabal in 2015, the rigging of the Dimocritic primary, and the wild attempt to destabilize the incoming administration and the desperate need to cover their collusion’, the phony dossier, EVERYTHING.

Again, who was that ‘Flint water’ remark directed at?

Aside from Judith Miller, Scooter Libby, and a few faceless
@plutosrepublic
spooks such as Mossad Chief of Station Naor Gilon and Lt. Col. Larry Franklin, there really was no accountability for the coordinated international media and intelligence deception program that made the Iraq war fraud work.
Unless you were paying very close attention, you wouldn't have even noticed the light slaps on the wrists the OSP-AIPAC defendants received in 2005-2006. If you know what the acronym OSP-AIPAC is, you are one of the very few. Hint: Jane Harman waddled into that. Extra points for explaining how "the Aspens turn together."
As part of the same '96 Telecom Act, we also got CALEA --
@gulfgal98
Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act, an act by the US Congress to facilitate wiretapping of U.S. domestic telephone and Internet traffic. That Clinton-era Act mandated that the telcos and ISPs install "CALEA-compliant" signal diverters to divert phone and email messages to the FBI or NSA. Congress also allocated an initial $50 million to compensate the telcos for their trouble in installing new digital switching equipment which made mass surveillance possible.
Of course, every year, buried in the budgets of the FBI and CIA are funds that pay these same companies and a host of newer Internet data-mining firms to spy on us.
Thus was Facebook, Google and the rest nurtured in their cradles.
