False Flag in Idlib Has Apparently Been Cancelled

Was the event cancelled because Russia told the world that our friendly allies the White Helmets were going to use chlorine gas on Idlib so that we'd bomb Syria to stop Syria and Russia from trying to take control of Idlib?

False-flag failure… US cuts to the chase to defend its terrorists in Syria

Last week the US warned of military strikes on Syria "if" government forces use chemical weapons (CW). This week, Trump comes clean by dropping any mention of a CW pretext – simply warning Syria not to attack terrorists.

Trump tweeted his warning to Syria, as well as its allied Russian and Iranian forces, to not launch a military offensive to retake control of the northwest province of Idlib. The area is the last remaining stronghold of illegally armed militant groups in Syria. It's potentially the endgame to the nearly eight-year war.
....

On Monday, Trump said: "President Bashar al-Assad of Syria must not recklessly attack Idlib Province. The Russians and Iranians would be making a grave humanitarian mistake to take part in this potential human tragedy."

The US’ top general, Joseph Dunford, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, also reiterated seeming anxiety for humanitarian casualties, calling for a “tailored operation.

So, alleged chemical weapons are no longer part of the US rationale. It's basically: don't make any military move. The American president added that "hundreds of thousands of lives" could be lost if Syria and its allies move to rid the province of an estimated 10,000 militants among a civilian population of three million.

Trump's apparent "humanitarian" concern seems alarmist, if not cynical. When did he articulate similar misgivings when US air forces were pounding Raqqa to bits last year, causing thousands of civilian deaths?

I'm not going to bother quoting from the NY Slimes, but here is another article on the stupidity of the Slimes article.

LATEST ANALYSISNEWSNew York Times gushes with admiration over kindness of ISIS-Al Qaeda towards people of Idlib
‘Aid-delivering’ Syrian rebels: NYT shows warm, fuzzy side of Al-Qaeda in Idlib.ISI

A New York Times report warning of an impending bloodbath in Idlib downplays the fact that the Syrian province is controlled by Al-Qaeda affiliated terrorists, portraying the “rebels” as humanitarian-minded administrators.

Millions of civilians are dreading what comes next” in Idlib, the New York Times reports, after presumably consulting with most of the province’s estimated three million inhabitants. In a true masterpiece of euphemism-infested journalism, the Times has turned the operation to liberate Idlib from a US-designated terrorist group on its head, bemoaning the uncertain fate of the “rebel fighters and their civilian supporters who rose up more than seven years ago demanding regime change.”

Scroll about 20 paragraphs down and the Gray Lady notes with a dismissive air that Syria’s deputy prime minister called these brave fighters “terrorists” (scare-quote credit: NYT) during an interview with Russian (yes, Russian!) television on Saturday. The paper then provides crucial context to help counter this cynical Kremlin soundbite, pointing out that while it’s true that Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), “which is affiliated with Al-Qaeda,” has controlled much of Idlib since 2015, there’s more to Al-Qaeda affiliation than meets the eye. After all, the State Department-designated terrorist group has dutifully acted as “a de facto governmental authority, facilitating trade across the long border with Turkey and organizing aid deliveries.

Seventeen years after the September 11 terrorist attacks, the New York Times is now writing articles commending Al-Qaeda affiliates for their aid-delivering abilities. No mention of reports of their chemical weapon stockpiles, however.

Five paragraphs later, the New York Times nonchalantly discloses that HTS – characterized as “rebels”, “fighters”, “rebel fighters”, “rebel forces”, and “Syria’s strongest rebel faction” throughout its mind-melting article – has been “officially declared” a terrorist organization by the United States, European Union and even Turkey.

I'm wondering if Trump hadn't cancelled the false flag chemical weapons attack on Idlib would the terrorists be stupid enough to have launched it on September 11? If so then that would have been irony for ya.

We wanted decent healthcare, a living wage and free college.
The Democrats gave us Biden and war instead.

It seems that every time the terrorist armies in Syria are on the verge of defeat, they and their allies in the Western press start up narratives of humanitarian disasters attempting to get Western intervention. Aleppo was described as one of the worst disasters ever. Literally no reporting on the how the city is recovering since that time.

Yelling chemical weapons were a justification, but looks like future claims of chemical weapons is looking suspicious. Is Assad insane enough to use chemical weapons as it is a direct invitation for the West to bomb him? Of course the answer is yes, as in the process of any demonization rational behavior is removed and replaced by evil derangement.

wouldn't this be a fine two-day window of opportunity for a chemical false flag event, just ahead of the big meeting w/ putin, erdogan, and rouhani in tehran on setp 7?

but see, trump no mention chemical attacks cuz too bigly busy on the twit machine denouncing bob woodward book of lies 'fear', and collecting sworn testimony from mattis, kelly, and so forth to even remember chemicals...

b at moon of alabama deconstructs the BS in his ‘Syria - UN, U.S. Try To Delay Idlib's Liberation’, sept. 4, and describes who Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) really are, as well as erdogan’s favorite al-qaueda group.

wut whew, at least the OPCW decided that the skripals and crowley and friend were poisoned by the same damned 'novichok', and have issued warrants for two russians who'd traveled to, and salisbury and the UK..incognito. or was it...in flagrante delicto? easy to get that mixed up, methinks.

Here is the latest.

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-mideast-crisis-syria-idlib-usa/u-s-s-...

New Delhi (Reuters) - There was “zero intelligence” of chemical weapons capabilities possessed by groups opposing Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in the province of Idlib, U.S. Defence Secretary Jim Mattis said, adding that the facts did not back Russian assertions.

“We have zero intelligence that shows the opposition has any chemical capability,” Mattis told reporters traveling with him to the Indian capital of New Delhi for a high-level dialogue on Thursday between the south Asian nation and the United States.

“We have made very clear that by putting out innuendo that somehow any chemical weapon use coming up in the future could be ascribed to the opposition, well, we want to see the data,” Mattis said. “We cannot see anything that indicates the opposition has that capability.”

He said instead there was a history of Assad’s government using such weapons.

@humphrey

i'd seen a in the twittersphere a retweet of ‘@ReutersPolitics
“JUST IN: White House says U.S. and allies will respond 'swiftly and appropriately' if Syrian President Assad uses chemical weapons again”, dated yesterday. no updates, i’d checked.

but of course, it's been snortin' bolton pushing the 'if one more chemical attack' threats.

may i add these? a café commenter had brought this great introduction to perhaps the next white helmets help on my recent #handsOffsyria diary: CBS News August 30, 2018: '2 Americans develop vast network to alert millions of Syrians of impending airstrikes’
, cbs news

"The U.N. special envoy to Syria warned on Thursday that 3 million civilians could be at risk if the Assad regime launches a large-scale invasion against rebels in Idlib province. Violence can happen at a moment's notice in Syria, but two Americans have designed a way to warn civilians before an airstrike.

John Jaeger and Dave Levin grew up in Chicago and Dallas, where they worked jobs in finance and consulting. But now they've become unlikely heroes in Syria's seven-year-long civil war, where they have saved lives." [snip]

weird how when TIA (total information awareness) was first promoted in the UK, it was trounce. so...they introduced it under obfuscated piecemeal legislation...and here the citizenry is, under the thumb...save for...sometimes when convenient.
