This is what I think will happen - simply common sense
The media wants to call it over. Hillary herself wants to call it over and move onto Trump. Trump also probably wants to call his race over and move along to Hillary Clinton. The media and everyone will ignore Bernie and start to focus almost exclusively on Trump and Clinton. Cruz and Kasich will be two baying hounds in the wilderness. Bernie will just keep on keeping on.
Trump will go after Hillary like a wrecking ball. Every single time she is in front of a reporter they will ask her something like - Donald Trump thinks that you are a probable felon who betrayed our National Security and he has vowed to prosecute you if elected. What do you say to that?
or:
Donald Trump says he has investigators looking in the Clinton Foundation and that they are reporting back absolutely unimaginable corruption, what do you have to say to that?
Bear in mind, this is not me saying these things as a Bernie Sanders supporter, I just have seen and read enough to see how Trump operates and he has already said things along this line. Bernie Sanders and his team have not gone anywhere close to the emails and National Security and the Clinton Foundation. MSM media has had close to a blackout on these topics while the right wing media has been covering it 24/7 since the email story broke. The media loves a circus. Donald Trump loves a circus. The American public appears to like a circus. They will have Hillary in the center ring 24/7. I frankly just don't see how she survives as a viable candidate by the time the GE rolls around.
What do you think?

Agreed on pressing forward, please note that many folks watch
local news and the local news WILL continue to cover Bern-Hard Sanders, because Bernie WILL continue to produce yoooj rallies.
Also keep in mind that Hillary is a shitty candidate who gaffes semi/weekly....yes I know Democratic primary voters are to dumb to vote their interests but ya never know until ya try.
I'm not giving up I will be voting for Bern-Hard in NY on April 19th and I will continue to win votes from family and friends in my native California!!
Let's bring her campaign to heel!
Ha! A win in New Yawk would be great!
And yes, it will continue to be a gaffe fest, how could it not?

I just BET Hillary will crash, at some point...
Phoebe, I would be willing to BET $ that Hillary will ex/im-plode in some sort of way. It is as clear as day to me and has been that way for a long while. This thought has not come from personal dislike of her or Bill or the Clinton machine, but from long observation of her and how she repeatedly climbs out on a limb and either cuts it off herself or gives someone else the saw to do so. It is so, so short sighted of the Dems to not see this. And you are right, Trump is the guy who will up the ante to fireworks stage. He is the sort of 'in your face' aggressor that she will have a hard time withstanding. Can you see just how weak all the memes that she has been using will be to counter his crass words: "oh, I misspoke," "oh he is attacking me because I am a woman: sexist", right if she tries that stuff with Trump he will just hang her with it.
This will not end well. It would be far better for us if she has this collapse before she gets into the White House.
So, tx for the diary, Phoebe, couldnt' agree more.

Hillary seems at her worst when
she's faced with something she isn't prepared for. So pressure from an unexpected question, an unscripted moment where she's not in her comfort zone, like when the BLM woman showed up at her little private donor's fundraiser, seem to bring out her worst. The cracks start to widen, and she shows her true colors. And they're not pretty. Hate to be such a small minded petty person, but I do enjoy watching her squirm.

Oh... I'm with you 1000%!!!!
Re watching her squirm.... absolutely delicious!!! LOL
Yea, Trump will spring the most crazy, unexpected BS on her non-stop if they are opponents. The media will repeatedly ask her about it, and yes, she will get REALLY irritable about it at some point and melt down!!!! My bad... but I can't wait for it to happen!!
Here's the thing... lets hope that those two asshats start going at each other now, and pretend that they've already won their respective primaries. Wouldn't it be divine to see her go bonkers, and evil and her true self in the primary when there is still a chance to get her worthless ass out of the process!!!

I think it's pretty easy to say - the campaign is not over
and your voice and your vote still count. Don't be silenced by people declaring victory in the second quarter/ first furlong/ halfway point in a marathon, etc. etc.
And then maybe some nice sports clips of come from behind wins. Horse races are nice. Some horse coming from way back in the field and then winning in the home stretch.

There are movies about both, and I imagine old news clips.

or Vernon Adams Jr could get injured (football metaphor)
I root for the Oregon Ducks football team. As some of you might know, on January 2nd the Ducks played Texas Christian University in something called the Alamo Bowl. Oregon, led by quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. scored and scored again, taking a 31-0 advantage. Then, late in the first half, Adam Jr got hurt and didn't play again in the contest.
I think no team had ever overcome such a deficit in bowl game history but TCU managed to do it. The substitutes for Oregon made mistake after mistake. It was horrible from my viewpoint. As the 2nd half played out the insurmountable lead shrank. TCU, which probably should have been banned because it had no chance kept on until it had achieved victory (ugh!).
So we'll see. I think Hillary is very capable of doing something that will compromise her standing, or that something will come out about the Clinton Foundation. Maybe not. The Oregon loss was a freak occurrence. The odds are that Hillary won't combust. Still....
This is a very cool idea.

Does anyone else think this is
way too much like the wrestling foundation, or something?
They gave everyone, even democrats, a script to follow. But forgot to give one to Bernie.
And he has held his own. He is doing this for us. Can you imagine how tired he is? I think when he smiles, he collects energy as he looks out across a sea of hope. He gives his ideas with all his heart to that sea of hope. The young people have learned it so well they say it along with him! I'm thinking we need to trust in our children, and grandchildren. We need to cheer them on at every turn. They are going to change the world for the better.
They got the message.

Funny thing about wrestling...
I don't follow it but a bunch of my friends do.
They claim the problem is that management is so obsessed with promoting the same boring wrestlers with ties to management,
that they continually ignore fan-favorites who could make people take it seriously again.
I'm just going to let that sink in, without further comment.
I do not pretend I know what I do not know.
How tired he is...
He must be exhausted. I am grateful to him for all the effort he put into saving us, our planet, and our kids. I apologize to him on behalf of all the Americans out there that are too dumb to know on which side their bread is buttered. Why spend their tax dollars on themselves when they can give it to Hillary and her Wall Street friends.
At this point, I don't care who wins or loses. Bernie can go into the convention and demand his policies be included in the party platform. For what? No matter what they say, we all know they will do as they please. Obama will nominate some corporate Republican to the Supreme Court, and the village will clap. Fuck them. If I were young and looking for a place to put down roots, grow a family, it would never be a country as utterly corrupt and full of stupid people like this.

Hmmm I like the idea that she is pivoting to GE mode and may start attacking Drumpf. Whether she uses surrogates or comes at him head on, he will certainly respond with vigor and not be timid about slamming her with what's out in the public about her, but now has the complete republican party machine doing oppo research. It'll be Pacific Rim proportions from both of them. Meanwhile, Bernie keeps keeping on, winning votes and delegates and stays out of the fray.
Yes, it's brilliant!
I like it, too
I think it will become clear fairly quickly that she will not be a strong general election candidate and that will only strengthen Bernie in the second half of the primaries. The big challenge will be to keep those voters from giving up. If anyone can do it, Bernie can.

I swear, somebody is gonna write a book about Trump's campaign, and he 's gonna look like a genius! Really - he's masterful at making the media, anyone who criticizes him, look like fools. Remember, he plays the clown, and no one can make fun of a clown without looking like a fool But he won't destroy Clinton until the election, she's so much easier for him to beat than Bernie.
He knows how people hate Clinton.
Who the F would bother to make fun of a clown, except the FP at DKos
Exactly right.
I'm convinced he already has her campaign demise planned out and is just waiting for the right time to put his plan into action. When he does it'll be all over. He's an ass but he's not the fool he plays on tv. He's used his clown act to get him this far, when he no longer needs to play the fool we'll see who's really behind the makeup. Interesting times ahead.

CNN announced today that FSC is putting her sights
on Trump and the General Election, and is taking a bit of time off the campaign trail to fund raise, etc.
It was very explicit--she's in General Election mode.
BTW, from a couple pieces that I've read, it appears that she's not going to take DT on, directly. Surrogates will do most of the dirty work.
He would eviscerate her if she did, I imagine. To some extent, her campaign is going to take on his 'sexism.' It blew up in her face last time, and WJC was reported to be running from reporters at the rope lines [for a couple of weeks], in order to evade questions regarding Monica, etc. So, I'm a bit surprised at that tactic.
From what I've seen and heard, Trump may mostly ignore her, because he says she's got no enthusiasm behind her campaign. It could be that he will concentrate on Bernie (for a while), because he considers him to be a bigger threat. That is what he said in interviews this past week, when he was talking about the Chicago protest. (Now, that was before last night's election results. His tactics may have changed. He's like a chameleon, so who knows?)
OTOH, if FSC does attack him, I can't imagine that he would let it go unanswered.
I'll be interested to see how far FSC's 'crew' goes, too. I think I know that DT has no boundaries. Will FSC?
Time will tell . . .

HRC terrible campaign
No matter what HRC is not a terrible politician and campaigner.
This just a prime example of her managerial approach- she has no vision and is not a leader.
If I would running her campaign, guess what, we would finish off Bernie and build up the base and focus on her weakness (young, liberals, middle class) address the enthusiasm gap. I know she needs money due to her limited base of financial support, but finish what you started.
Besides being a flawed candidate, she is terrible campaigner and lacks vision- this will equal a disastrous general election.
wait...what?
"...HRC is not a terrible politician and campaigner"..."Besides being a flawed candidate, she is terrible campaigner..."
is it me, or is the first one a typo?
(totally agree with the second, btw)
Yes, HRC has ran an epicly poor campaign.
If they were smart they would have ran to the left, actually came up with some meaningful ideas and tried to create an easily foreseeable enthusiasm debt. If she did this they would have wrapped it up early. However, they are not smart campaigners. 2008 proved that. 2016 is reinforcing that notion. Maybe the problem was she couldn't bring herself to believe in the left (that will never ever happen!). She didn't think she needed to have actual meaningful ideas (Whatever Obama did I'll do it too, yea!) or enthusiasm (I'm inevitable, now fall in line!).

DT is sorta right about that enthusiasm for Shillary, but party first Dems will vote in lockstep for her.
I agree- rank and file will fall in line
My concern is that the other required voters (young, independents, strong liberals) needed to win the general will not vote for her.
I have spoken with several people (outside of my family) and they all hate her. The idea of another Clinton presidency will snap the republicans in line and they will vote for Trump.

Yep
Virtually every millennial I have talked to who is voting say they Will not vote for her. They are enthusiastic about changing politics as usual, ready to upset the apple cart. It's their future and I'm all in. From what they tell me, if Bernie is on the ticket, he gets their vote. If not, they will either write in his name or go with the green party, and only vote for progressive candidates of any stripe.
i'm hearing the same thing from millennials in my
family (& their friends), too.
they're deadset against voting for her, especially after the campaign she's run against bernie.

Bernie has a better chance of getting more of the Super Delegates if we can make it VERY CLEAR that Bernie supporters WILL NOT vote for Clinton.
Okay, I give and I have to ask ...
what does FSC stand for?
Well, it depends. If you ask Shah and LL (Indiana),
it stands for "Flying Spaghetti Clinton," which is quite interesting, and possibly more fitting.
The acronym for my purposes stands for the more mundane "Former Secretary Clinton." (Use it to avoid attacks of disrespect, which I got for using HRC.)

My comment in that thread is that I find it odd and unsettling
that Clinton's own supporters are discussing what alternate plan B is should she have to step aside and that is a very strange way to start a GE.
Don't they even realize how bizarre that is? I really don't care. It can become Hillaryville. It will be more fun and interesting to watch things unfold without threats of banhammers and swarms of Hillary hive inhabitants. Onward and upward in creating new pastures to hang out in.

And then we also have the prospect that the real Hillary will come out and once more she will say or do something really stupid...

What pains me is not that it will get ugly
After all, it always does. It's that in a Clinton vs. Trump race, I just can't bring myself to care. Not that I want Donald Trump to be president--far from it. I just don't want any more Clintons, either. The former would obviously be more damaging in the short term, but I feel like Clinton could actually be worse in the long run. Does anyone actually think Trump could govern? His bull-in-a-china-shop presidency would be like a national purge of our worst demons, Republicans would end up even more chagrined than they were after Bush, and any whiff of overt racism and egotistical militarism would be politically toxic for a long time. But with a Clinton presidency, in a way you get the worst of both worlds: neoliberalism cementing its stranglehold over what is still technically the leftmost of our two major parties, and the Republicans absolutely frothing at the mouth to defeat her, which they will. Soundly. And then what?
So I guess the question is, do we want to eat our shit sandwich now, or eat it later? How do we want the republic to die, in one big bang, or by a thousand tiny cuts?

We've got Political Frostbite.
There are two ways to treat it: Slow, continual pressure towards warmth, ensuring we NEVER let it freeze again.
Or Lop it off.
Constantly freezing, then warming just a little, then freezing is the worst POSSIBLE way to go about fixing the problem, ensuring that it will ONLY get worse.
I'll leave you to determine which candidate is which in this example.
I do not pretend I know what I do not know.
I want my sandwich now...
with a shot of whisky or two or three...
I won't mark my ballot for him, but I sure won't vote for HRC either. Like many others, I will be writing Sanders in. It will be a very interesting vote count (if MSM bothers to mention it).

Trump has a gold mine
Trump will go after Bill first.
everybody know who Jeffrey Epstein is? And his private plane, which they (he & Bill, his bff b4 Epstein went to jail) called The Lolita Express.
Trump has enough ammunition to give Bill a purple-faced-ragin'-heart-attack! Seriously, there is also his mistress in Chappaqua ( name with held until Trump uses it) - a gold mine.
Then he'll start on her. He'll start with Bill "do you want this person back in the White House with nothing to do this time?" and Bill will freak out & go bonkers,
I've had the same thoughts!
I can see Donald standing up with a handful of cancelled checks, all made out to Hillary. He reads them, one at a time, and then states what he received in return for them.
Trump is going to destroy her! She only thinks she's suffered from the attacks of republicans. Trump will go where no republican has gone before. And it will be ugly! He has so many avenues of attack that he'll probably have some difficulty deciding which one he wants to attack he on first. And many of the things he'll be attacking her on, put him firmly to the left of her positions.
Hillary is likely to lose in a landslide to a candidate who has one of the lowest approval ratings in presidential history. But then again, I guess the same could be said for Trump. Two losers are now the leadings for the POTUS. How far we have fallen!
“Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we.”
George W. Bush
We survived Bush. We'll survive Trump.
I'm so worn out with the new spin that Bush was "reasonable" and "decent." He was a disgrace and a usurper to boot. Does no one remember who normalized torture? Preemptive war? People held without charges? Election theft? (Where have they hidden Katherine Harris, by the way?) Until Trump has a body count in the hundreds of thousands to his "credit," he won't measure up to the evil of Bush II. And that's not even going into their differences on social security (Bush tried to privatize it, Trump promises not to reduce it or change it) or trade (Bush never saw a deal for the "ownership class" he didn't like, and Trump says he'll do something about rapacious trade "deals"). And as Saturday Night Live pointed out, the Republicans have been the racist party for some time now: they just "implied" racism rather than shouting it from the rooftops. All the pearl clutching now rings very hollow.

Trump is anti-war
Hillary is probably just stupid enough to think that she can bully Russia. She'll go wild with "regime change" and/or invasion in even more countries.
