(And the verdict is in): DOJ IG releases explosive report that led to firing of ex-FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe
McCabe is crying like a baby. I’m using Faux News for this ‘situation’ and I will provide other links for back-up and to show the difference in the content of Faux, Reuters, and Politico. As you undoubtedly know, Reuters and Politico tend to favor a ‘left leaning’ anti-Trump slant to their stories. Faux supports the whack job 100%.
DOJ IG releases explosive report that led to firing of ex-FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe

"[W]e concluded that McCabe’s decision to confirm the existence of the CF investigation through an anonymously sourced quote, recounting the content of a phone call with a senior department official in a manner designed to advance his personal interests at the expense of department leadership, was clearly not within the public interest exception," the report says.
*
That leak confirmed the existence of the probe, which then-FBI Director James Comey had until then refused to do. The report says that McCabe "lacked candor" in a conversation with Comey when he said that he had not authorized the disclosure and didn't know who had done so.
The IG also found that he also lacked candor when questioned by FBI agents on multiple occasions since that conversation, where he told agents that he did authorize the disclosure and did not know who was responsible.
*
In a letter submitted by McCabe’s counsel after reviewing a draft of the report, McCabe argues that “the OIG should credit Mr. McCabe’s account over Director Comey’s” and complains that the report “paints Director Comey as a white knight carefully guarding FBI information, while overlooking that Mr. McCabe’s account is more credible for at least three key reasons ...”
*
“Mr. McCabe’s recollection of discussions he had with Director Comey about this issue is extremely clear; Director Comey’s recollection is, by his own acknowledgment, not at all clear. And yet two of the lack of candor allegations are based on Director Comey’s admittedly vague and uncertain recollection of those discussions. "

Now I’ll give you two other links and maybe YOU can find where they show McCabe’s lawyers reaction to the report.

DOJ inspector general report cites FBI's McCabe for misconduct
I got bitched out a while back from someone here for using Faux as a source. Of course I backed it up with other sources BUT that didn’t stop the complaining. THIS illustrates WHY oftentimes you HAVE to go to places you formerly wouldn’t touch in order to get to the truth or the whole story. You won’t read the push back and swipe by McCabe’s attorneys at James Comey anywhere else. In fact, from Politico you get...
But while the IG report has long been expected to emerge this month, its release on Friday — as Trump lambastes former FBI Director James Comey as a “slime ball” — offers the president a potentially potent source of pushback against current and former Justice officials who have helped propel a Russia investigation that’s edging ever closer to the president.
Rep. Jerrold Nadler of New York, the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, said he feared that the report would be used by Trump and his allies to further a “disinformation campaign” against the FBI and Justice Department — a bankshot effort, he said, to discredit special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 election.
Now, it’s Comey Time!

Good essay.
I'll take exception to one statement, though. Fox News doesn't support Trump 100%. Chris Wallace hates him, some of the talking heads are #NeverTrumpers, and the mix of editorials and headlines on the Fox website is about 80% pro and 20% con. Of course, there's some nutters like Sean Hannity who think Trump can do no wrong, and the general orientation of the network is pro-Republican even when not explicitly pro-Trump.
I don’t have cable and don’t watch Faux
much so I’ve not seen or read about any righties being anti-Trump other than the love birds, Mika and Joey S. And I only know that from stuff I’ve seen on the internet. It’s good to know that they’re not ALL batshit crazy.
