These two ducks make their home at the cemetery's irrigation pond. It's full of yucky water now so they have been hanging out at the stream.

I'm starting to wonder if our lakes and ponds will ever thaw.
These are from last week, before the last snowstorm:
Eurasian collared dove

robin

common merganser

wood ducks and a goose; the first wood ducks I think I've ever seen here in MN

Nefertiti, one of my barn cats; she certainly lives up to her name.

One of the wild rabbits figured out how to get up into my birdseed bowl and ate all the seed; I had it elevated and I wouldn't think they could jump that high if I hadn't seen it do it with my own eyes today! So I found an old drawer that is taller stood on end, so we'll see if that is tall enough. (I weighted it with a cinder block.)

Yesterday I drove by the park where they're tearing down the trees; most of the rest of the trees are down now. I hope the owl moved to another area of the park with trees. Sigh.

First time I've seen one there. But I only saw one crow today. Not the usual hundreds that are usually there.

Sorry to hear about the cold. We are getting some rain from the Hawaii Pineapple Express.

short film, de duva,
@snoopydawg
an Ingmar Bergman spoof.
I saw it on HBO (back in its early days). I lived with my aunt and uncle at the time, and my two cousins and I would LOAO whenever we saw it come on.
One of the funniest 15 min. movies all time.
[Video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3JEIQk4mZQ]
HBO was on Ch. 30 in the 'cuse, and my aunt would call it "dirty 30."
Lots of shower scenes in movies back in those days, and when one would come on my aunt would say, "I'm headin' for bed... " We would serenade her with a "goodnight Isabelle... "

But that was four hours ago when I was younger and full of hope.

@Socialprogressive

You seem to go to the zoo frequently. Or have you posted photos of previous times?

This is how the pussy willows end up. The bees have removed most of the pollen from? I don't know what they are called. And they are not that yellow. My camera adds it for some reason. It's my cheap phone camera. It's been fun watching how they have changed over the last couple of weeks.

I get to either the zoo or the Safari Park about once a month. Most of the shots I post are from the most recent outing, but some are from previous trips.

Even if your camera is adding yellow, I like the contrast of colors in your shot of the pussy willow.

@Socialprogressive Those are so cool. If I were a bird I'd either be a secretary bird or stilt. (I have long legs.)

Between the colorful face, large head feathers and very long legs, the Secretary bird is very unique looking.

Hi all,

It is exploding spring and green way down here at latilong 99.6 x 29.5 or so. Here are a couple recent pix..

Black-throated Sparrow is a fancy beauty
btsprw040118a3.jpg

Golden-cheeked Warbler is a threatened species, the only species whose entire breeding range is within the state of Texas. And which is roughly the Edwards Plateau, which is the central 20% of the state, parts of which are known as 'the hill country'. The female builds the nest out of Ashe Juniper bark, which requires mature adult trees and the birds' range is nearly identical to that of the Ashe Juniper. This is a male.

Here is a singing male, the light was bad but the bird is good...

gochk032518b.jpg

They sing a buzzy descending short few notes with a couple longer ones at the end with a louder buzzy finish which sounds like "she says I'm so laaa-zzzeeee."

This is a Cave Swallow:

They originally only nested in bat caves, but now often nest in culverts and around buildings. A cousin to the Cliff Swallow which often use high bridges.

One of my fish, a favorite, Cardinal Tetra Paracheirodon axelrodi.

So here's a couple of pages from my latest project:

I'm about 40 pages in and 1/2 way done with a major element of disc dog freestyle, Sequence Building.

The graphic novel format has appealed to me for some time. I've dropped a few images here over the years, but I've finally got enough material; material that is granular enough to do this kind of tear down with.

I'm looking to shop this around to publishers. I think I need a literary agent and some luck. But it's a killer idea. I can totally put you right in the handler or dog's spot and tell the "story" and highlight dialogue right from there.

Super cool feature of the classes is that the video which was screen-grabbed for the images in the strips is going to be the backup instruction for class. The student will watch the same video which produced the key positions and situations. Super, super cool.

I'm quite excited about the project and have been waiting until Friday to share a couple images.

And here's a link to the beginning of instruction:
http://pvybe.com/digital-dojo/position/modules/position/lessons/basic-di...

It's kind of an easter egg page right now and will be the free module used to sell class once I wrap things up on Sequence Building. You're welcome to poke around if you'd like.

Peace~
