The Republican response to Schiff & Company’s memo is

out and it makes the Dims look like pathological lying morons.

https://intelligence.house.gov/uploadedfiles/democrat_memo_charge_and_re...

I seriously resent having to support the Repubbie side against the ‘party’ I supported for over 40 years but there really is no other option. Between this RUSSIA! subterfuge and the way the DNC says we need to STFU about being cheated, it’s impossible to trust anything they say anymore.

I don’t know why I hung in there so long. I was damn disgusted after Slick left the White House (and not just because of his roving penis). But I always hoped that Hillbillary was a fluke, a one-time deviation from everything I thought the ‘party’ stood for.

Boy, was I wrong.

That said, their take down of the Democrats memo is ruthlessly logical and coherent, and very convincing.

@Lookout and in this case, the Democrats look like a bunch of idiots (at best) or downright liars. My bet is on the latter. Just because the Republicans are right on this one, does not mean I support them on policy.

With the Russia crapola and the Q posts, I have had to go to sites I probably would have not visited before. But if you are a real truth seeker (which I am), you must search in all directions in order to gather as much information as possible upon which to use your critical thinking skills.

@gulfgal98 I also have had to visit web sites and magazines I'd never ever thought I would look at. Just imagine the horrible feeling one must get when realizing that there are some things which Rush Limbaugh gets right that MSM (aka Establishment Trolls) purposefully omits or lies about!

@gulfgal98

So one day you're suddenly come to the realization that you are awash in a sea of propaganda and that pretty much everyone is lying to you about everything important. That means that ALL paths suddenly become equally credible and you start exploring them. Some, in fact, turn out to be tinfoil hat stuff and others do not. The trick, at least for me, is separating the signal from the noise because there's a lot of noise out there in tinfoil land.

Insofar as Republican sources, what I think is that periodically anyone happens to be on the right side of reality. That makes it trivially easy for them to look statesman-like compared to the liars they are sparring with. That doesn't make them trustworthy on other issues nor does it make them good people. I think you can look at Putin with that eye as well.

@SnappleBC are what help us to separate the nuggets of good from all the other crapola out there. I have made errors in the past in judging what is valid, but I firmly believe that more we make use of our critical thinking skills, the better honed they become. Having everything spoon fed to you by people you agree with is doing a disservice to yourself.

I am sure people here get tired of reading this over and over, but here goes. I learned a lot from the time I spent every Saturday for over four years with the local Peace vigil. During that time, we had more opportunities to talk with self described conservatives than those who were of the liberal side. One of the greatest lessons I learned is that regardless of our self described political labels, we can find far more in common with one another than our differences. In these times, we need to find commonality across the political spectrum if we are to survive, both as a society and as a species.

Ok. As I understand Binny's position, the Nunez Memo is important because it demonstrates the necessity to abolish the Fisa Court and stop mass surveillance. This is the first I have heard that Fisa Courts were used by the DEA and IRS.

So I Binged "Stellar Winds intelligence:

Declassified Report Shows Doubts About Value of N.S.A.’s Warrantless Spying

Because intelligence agencies all say so.

https://mobile.nytimes.com/2015/04/25/us/politics/value-of-nsa-warrantle...

A Talk Left story that features Binney from 2013:

CBS reports that the PRISM program is an arm of the Stellar Wind program.

A top-secret arm of the controversial Stellar Wind program set up in the wake of 9/11 is allowing the National Security Agency and the FBI to tap directly into the central servers of nine major Internet companies to extract audio, video, photos, emails and documents that let analysts track an individual's communication, CBS News has learned.

The program, called PRISM, was established in 2007, according to The Washington Post, which broke the story Thursday evening. CBS News senior correspondent John Miller said it doesn't deal with names but was designed as a way for the government to track suspected terrorists. It culls metadata from Microsoft, Yahoo, Google, Facebook, PalTalk, AOL, Skype, YouTube and Apple and will soon include Dropbox.

The Quest CEO story:

Former Qwest CEO says refusal to comply with NSA spying landed him in jail

https://www.rt.com/usa/qwest-ceo-nsa-jail-604/

So how about that lawsuit?

The 2008 amendments to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, which oversees the N.S.A. activities, are up for renewal in December. Two members of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, Senators Ron Wyden of Oregon and Mark Udall of Colorado, both Democrats, are trying to revise the amendments to insure greater privacy protections. They have been warning about “secret interpretations” of laws and backdoor “loopholes” that allow the government to collect our private communications. Thirteen senators have signed a letter expressing concern about a “loophole” in the law that permits the collection of United States data. The A.C.L.U. and other groups have also challenged the constitutionality of the law, and the Supreme Courtwill hear arguments in that case on Oct. 29.

https://www.aclu.org/cases/amnesty-v-clapper-challenge-fisa-amendments-a...

Of course SCOTUS dismissed the case for failure to have standing:

http://www.scotusblog.com/case-files/cases/clapper-v-amnesty-internation...

Ok! Since FISA was renewed AGAIN based on near unanimous votes from both parties, the Nunez Memo is still a big fat nothing burger unless Trump takes Binney's advice at the end of the video and shuts down the FISA courts.

This guy represents the right, but this particular video probably does the most thorough analysis of both the Democratic memo and the Republican response. I liked how he points out not only the lies in the Democratic memo, but also the flaws in some of the Republican response.

[video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w2e1bkAsumo]

And yes, both parties are corrupt, but we still should pay attention to this for a number of reasons. For me, the primary one is how easily the FISA court process is being abused. Another reason is the fact the Democrats continue to try to cover their poop in the litter box by pawing the ground outside the box. And in the course of doing so, they continue to promote some very dangerous propaganda that could lead us into a world war.

I thoroughly believe we must arm ourselves with as much information as possible even when it is inconvenient or uncomfortable.

Mindblowing - Bill Binney articulates the reach of the Deep State

https://caucus99percent.com/content/mindblowing-bill-binney-articulates-...

It WAS mindblowing. I really had nothing to add to the excellent conversation that followed. The problem, as I see it of course, is that neither side of the Russiagate or Memogate controversy is the least bit interested in abolishing or even restricting either the FISA Court or mass surveillance.

The only complaint the Republicans have is that a Republican candidate was targeted and Hillary was not.

The only complaint the Democrats have is that Hillary lost and that Hillary/DWS/The DNC didn't get away with stealing the election.

What should be the real targets, The FISA Court and mass surveillance like Stellar Wind, are being swept under the rug.

It's all kabuki. They don't really want to get too deep into FISA and surveillance, but both sides want to score their political points. I just hope the public can connect the dots here.
