Midnight Special - Beating Around the Bush Edition

I visited the Justice Democrats and Our Revolution websites to see what they had to say about the U.S. military Empire and U.S. imperialism, what some call "foreign policy". These are the two organizations that are supposedly challenging the "corporate dems" in the democratic party.

https://ourrevolution.com/issues/foreign-policy/

What struck me about their statements on "foreign policy" is they don't mention the words imperialism, militarism, or Empire. That's not atypical in the political world of course. Telling it like it is relative to U.S. foreign policy is like talking about the JFK assassination or the false flag attack on 9/11/01. It's actually considered a conspiracy theory to suggest that the U.S. government and those controlling it are using the U.S. military and intelligence services to try to rule the world.

Why beat around the bush? Is it because they're afraid? Is it because they simply don't know the truth? Is it because they actually support having a military Empire? That's the Midnight Special question.

We don't need progress, we need radical.

critique the statements or platform planks of the Justice dems and Our Revolution, but it was almost midnight and I had to cut it short. I had a deadline, man. The links will take you right to their stuff. Last month I wrote the following about how the democratic party platform officially supports the U.S. military Empire and imperialism.

For the people who believe that we can vote our way out of this mess, we have to make them see that no one's economic policies can be achieved as long as we're spending more than half our budget on the military. Medicare for all, free colleges or any of the other issues people are running on will be passed until the military budget becomes more sane.

I tried doing that when Bernie was running only to be told that his FP wasn't as insane as Her's was. That wasn't the right answer. Look at how many times we tried telling people about Obama's expansion of the war of terror. We all remember how that went over. "Drones save our troop's lives, etc."

Is it because they're afraid? Is it because they simply don't know the truth? Is it because they actually support having a military Empire?

Good questions....

Which AIPAC/MIC/pharma/bank bought politician are you going to vote for? Don’t be surprised when nothing changes.

The false progressives are not going to address US imperialism. The political wings of 'justice democrats' and 'our revolution' are bait to draw the dis-affected back into the duopoly. Litmus tests are economic inequality, race and class warfare, military support, health (wealth) care and energy policy. Discussion (or not) of these issues separates the opportunists from those working for change.

I'm tempted to appropriate it for my signature but man I sure do like the one I already stole Smile

A lot of wanderers in the U.S. political desert recognize that all the duopoly has to offer is a choice of mirages. Come, let us trudge towards empty expanse of sand #1, littered with the bleached bones of Deaniacs and Hope and Changers.

...and it leads to war. Hell Big Al, how are we to exploit other countries resources and abuse their people without our good all amerikan war? Let's get real.

I guess I find it easier to joke about it because I feel helpless to stop the insanity. Why do we keep a presence in Syria after the defeat of IS? We need to continue our proxy war with Russia, plus we might be able to provoke a war with Iran while we're at it. Then we might nuke N. Korea for daring to make peaceful overtures to the South cause they are our proxy war with China (along with our S. China Sea aggression). It's on to bigger and better wars....really yuge wars...great wars. Then the oligarchy can holler patriotism at every opportunity (which really means war).

Is there a good war? There might be....a war on environmental destruction, a war on poverty, a war against war. Thanks for the essay!

from a desperate attempt by TPTB in the ‘west’ (that would be ‘us’) to maintain control over the world’s resources, rescue the petrodollar, and prevent the BRICS nations from becoming the world’s new economic leaders.

And by ‘us’ I don’t mean you and me, I’m referring to our overlords of the 1%.

Ironic, isn’t it that these greedy bastids actually did this to themselves? Outsourcing everything from manufacturing jobs to processing insurance claims just ensured this country’s slide down the economic poop chute. We make nothing so we have mothing to sell, and all our personal and financial information is under the control of the vety nations that are taking our ‘spot’ in the world’s economic hierarchy. And it is all because the greedy, corrupt bastids who are in a panic now thought they were being slick outsourcing it all because they could pay poverty wages rather than a livable wage to American workers and there would be no repercussions.

The selfish greedy bastids put themselves (and by extension us) in this mess. Now they think we should start a couple more wars and send our kiids off to fight to save their greedy hides. Like they’ve always done. We don’t fight wars for truth, justice, and the American ‘way’ (whatever that is). We fight them to preserve our ‘betters’ bank accounts.
