of it mattered then, and it don't matter now.
If those protests had no impact, what Realistic chance do we have today? Those millions(and more) have to march again and actually take over the machinery of government and Shut It Down!
That many people? Surround the pentagon, blockade the cia, Occupy on steroids to stop war.
Can we do it?
Will we try?

It worked for Charlottesville when the Unite the Right fuckwits cracked the heads of counter-protesters.

Modern education is little more than toeing the line for the capitalist pigs.
Guerrilla Liberalism won't liberate the US or the world from the iron fist of capital.
@Tall Bald and Ugly
As you say, we couldn't do it then with protests. Couldn't really do anything about Vietnam. Now the "wars" are more nebulous, most people don't even know the U.S. launched wars against Syria, Libya, Yemen, etc. Bush walks around a free man.
We have to change the power structure of this country or we won't get anything done.

Whodathunk I wasn't the only C99'er here in "that frozen narco-tundra to the north" (Stephen Colbert LOL).
GWB called us "a few special interest groups."
Hundreds marched in my small town Victoria BC Canada.
I'm still glad I did.
History has recorded our global protest against the illegal invasion of Iraq.

A lot of wanderers in the U.S. political desert recognize that all the duopoly has to offer is a choice of mirages. Come, let us trudge towards empty expanse of sand #1, littered with the bleached bones of Deaniacs and Hope and Changers.

@SnappleBC
Were you born here in Victoria?
That seems to be an important distinction here.
I always counter with "no, but my father served in the navy, stationed in Esquimalt in WWII."
Just got your response today. I'm slow, I'm from Victoria after all.
Here is one of the shots I took that day, IIRC. The woman with her arms outstretched is Nina Utne.
I went down a few and filmed and photographed. I got some bad ass, historic type shots... I should find them all. I have an amazing shot of Maria Inajosa interviewing Medea Benjamin. Medea is looking directly into my camera.

This looks like the original 'pink march' that was to stopping a war, not the one with the pussy hats that I have no idea what they were marching for. Was this the last time that many people protested the wars?
More than a million Afghans have written letters to the ICC about war crimes violations.
I'd love to see that go somewhere. This country has gotten away with committing them long enough.

The right-wing gov would just call in militia shock troops.

I think we need a regime change.
