Feinstein is vulnerable in the primary

The best Republican from a deep Blue State with a 'D' in front of her name has a real chance of losing her re-election bid.
A new poll found just 41 percent of likely California voters back the 84-year-old, five-term incumbent in her bid for re-election, six months before the 2018 primary.
The poll, released Wednesday by the UC Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies, put Feinstein still comfortably ahead of her closest rival, state Senate leader Kevin de León, who received support from 27 percent of voters. Nearly a third of respondents, 32 percent, said they were undecided.
But for Feinstein, a virtual shoo-in in her previous re-election bids, dropping below 50 percent “shows weakness and vulnerability, much more so than in any of her past re-election campaigns,” said Mark DiCamillo, the head of the IGS poll.
A surprisingly high number of voters also say they have a negative impression of Feinstein — 42 percent, compared to 45 percent who think of her positively.
De Leon has a long ways to go to catch her, but he has two things going for him.
1) He's virtually unknown. As voters get familiar with him his numbers will go up.
2) The polls are moving in his direction.
Six weeks ago he was 27 points behind. This poll has him 14 points behind.
I'm not excited about de Leon. He's a mild mainstream Dem, the kind that DKos loves, but Feinstein is just plain awful.
Also, Feinstein already has the support of California junior Sen. Kamala Harris and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi. Which is proof that she needs to go.

GOP may get creamed
I agree, gj.
What is it with these politicians like Feinstein, Pelosi, and Bill Nelson here in FL? All 3 are wealthy. They are in their 80s, and it's showing mentally. Why can't they help groom younger folks to serve, and gracefully retire? Not everyone is an obnoxious malignant DNA specimen like Orrin Hatch who still has his evil wits even though he's in his 90s. Rec'd!!
(O/T: what kind of trouble are you scaring up for the holidays, good sir? Here's wishing you a good one, and thanks for all the great diaries you put on here!)

Ah yes, Bill Nelson is one of my senators.

Well this must be a shock to the
old entrenched Dims who have been able to strut on the political stage with top billing for far too long. All this back talk and opposition coming from the Great Unwashed on the left is probably a big surprise to them. Feinstein (and Pelosi) are probably wondering “how dare they”. They learned NOT ONE THING from the last election.
I hope that Chuckles Schumer gets the boot as well but I haven’t seen much if a movement to dump his sorry ass. I hope one is coming for him too.

Speaking of Chuckles ...

We wanted decent healthcare, a living wage and free college.
The Democrats gave us Biden and war instead.
But...but...but...
Gag.
Idolizing a politician is like believing the stripper really likes you.
What a piece of shit.

Aughhhhh! First time I’ve seen that
article. Which brings me to the question, WHY are Dims bitching about what the Repubbies and Trump just did? They were going to do the same damn thing.
EDIT: wuestion/question

The CorpoDems were expecting to get that commission (or at least whatever sizeable crumbs the Clintons wouldn't have personally hogged 'to pay the bills') - one would think that major rewards from billionaire donors can be expected for those getting the credit for actually enacting this atrocity from their often-mutual paymasters, since Hillary had won over a number of big Republican donors.
And I expect that the presentation (or non-mention) of the corporate media would have been entirely different were the President Clintons doing what President Trump is doing now. Probably moot, though, since The Mad Bomber would have gone for that Syrian No-Fly Zone, the shooting down, by invading US military, of invited-in Russian aircraft and nuclear exchanges, right off the hop. I personally think that we dodged something far larger and more immediately fatal to planetary life than a bullet, for this while, at any rate.
Psychopathy is not a political position, whether labeled 'conservatism', 'centrism' or 'left'.
A tin labeled 'coffee' may be a can of worms or pathology identified by a lack of empathy/willingness to harm others to achieve personal desires.
There's also this to consider

The Saker is also a good source for Russia's newest weapons, though I can't find the key link at the moment.
Too bad there isn't a single leftist on that entire poll
Since there are certainly some in the race.
Is Bernie ever going to wake up and stop enabling these hacks?
They're never going to change. They're never going to willingly go away. But they're ripe for the picking. A successful progressive third party is possible. Like the teabaggers, progressives don't need to win a majority. They simply have to win enough seats to set the legislative agenda then Bernie walks into being the 21st century FDR.

Except California has the stupid rule about the top 2
The top 2 vote getters in the primaries, regardless of party, go on to the general election. That way if a lot of Democrats challenge Feinstein and only 2 Republicans run, the choice in the general election could be between the 2 Republicans. So nice of the duopoly to make that self-serving rule.
Beware the bullshit factories.
this diary should be called Oligarchs have Fienstein primary
all wrapped up. Either she wins or their replacement for her wins. Progressives needed to primary her. This is an abject failure of the Revolution.
So where are Justice Democrats on DiFi? Anywhere to be seen? n/t

That’s good news! Credit to Justice Democrats!
At least to the extent that one does not disdain the whole existing electoral system and participation in it as a farce (hat tip to Big Al).
