(Aughhh!): Now the ‘indicted for treason’ stupidity starts...
I explained the reality of the situation and sent the actual indictment to ONE person. The first one who started sending me absolutely STUPID stuff. I am disappointed that so many people I know are buying into this crap. And this ‘collusion’ crap is driving me crazy. Their ears (or brains) shut down when you mention Clinton and her campaign, Elias, Obama, and the DNC.
I swear people used to be smarter than this. This isn’t our first trip to the ‘investigation of public officials’ rodeo. For example Watergate. BUT MOST PEOPLE UNDERSTOOD THE LEGALITIES in regard to the charges against Nixon and his ‘White House Plumbers’. Only factual charges and accusations were prosecuted. And the party pushing for prosecution wasn’t guilty of making up or presenting outrageous nonsense and using it to push the lie that it was’evidence’ of collusion and/or treason.
This is why i’m so damn crabby all the time. I just don’t have any patience or tolerance for stupid people anymore. There’s just too damn many of ‘em. And there’s a whole new level of stupid. And the word ‘stupid’ is being used intentionally.
Stupid

4. annoying or irritating; troublesome: Turn off that stupid radio.
5. in a state of stupor; stupefied: stupid from fatigue.
Slang. excellent; terrific.—noun
Informal. a stupid person.

I’ll be honest here. This crap scares the Hell out of me. I won’t be affected for too long but my kids (your kids) and grandkids (your grandkids) are being screwed out of their futures as we watch. And the WORST offender is the ‘party’ almost all of us here belonged or belongs to. When did the party of the people become so jaded and corrupt? I’m talking about the people. (The corruption of the ‘party’ occurred with the inauguration of Slick Willie Clinton and his ‘bitter’ half.)
And most of it’s being rigged by people from MY generation. WTF went wrong???

Every day of the 21st Century has been a Neoliberal day.
Bush bridged Clinton and Obama holding true to Neoliberal principals. This in-line regime of Presidents moved the economy from productive capitalism (shared growth with physical infrastructure) to financial capitalism (expansion of monetized authority perched atop institutional contraction) — sending money to the financial enclaves and sending jobs to emerging nations with cheaper labor. The ultimate goal is to benefit the corporations that profit-share with the enclaves. The remaining 99 percent are blanketed by the need for austerity, and the need to reduce their standard of living — so they can absorb and metabolize the losses that are flushed down by the enclaves.
If the American People had Human Rights, it could be tolerated better. But the Neoliberal sociopaths forgot to put those in their platform. Human rights, life freedom from hunger, affordable housing, health care on demand — not to be confused with civil rights.
Carry a flame and share the light.

There's options
"The remaining 99 percent are blanketed by the need for austerity,..."
Should the dregs rebel it would only take a quick war or a virulent plague to effect Pacification.

A Mother Jones Piece Claimed Russia Was "the Enemy"
in the social media description text of a piece of news that came across my FB feed.
It's actually a heading and subheading:
my response:
"With the enemy"? Are we at war with Russia?
Manafort's crimes were not treasonous. They were run of the mill political bullshit -- he lied about who his sponsors were in order to look squeaky clean -- that he was lobbying for Russia is no different than Podesta's brother -- the problem is he lied about it.
This is not about treason, it's about lobbying and political ethics.
We've got LOTS of well connected people "working with" and "lobbying for" Russia. Former President Clinton took $500,000 recently for a short speech. That is not a crime, nor should it be.
This "the Enemy" shit... It's completely concocted and manufactured. Russia is the target of the Establishment, that's why they're the enemy. It has nothing to do with Russian actions. It has to do with the desires of Big Corporate & the Oligarchs and their control over global politics.
The Enemy, Mother Jones, is Big Corporate & the Oligarchs, not Russia. You would think MoJo publication would know that.

MSM knows the drill
All they need do is repeat the assertion as if it were fact enough times and it becomes fact.
Interesting that they never look at the corollaries like Israel within the US or the US within other sovereign nations. By this thinking, the US is enemies with much of the world and we ought to be rolling the tanks on Israel.

TULSI 2020
Dumbing down.
The democratic party has suffered a massive dumbing down since 2008, when a lot of new democratic voters joined the ranks, who were motivated mostly by the racial/ethnic identities of candidates, than the real debates having to do with economics, trade etc. Many don't understand the difference between right and left policies (i.e. mandated private health insurance, charter schools, government surveillance etc.).
Intelligent debate about economic policy, trade policy etc. is not even possible now. Racial/ethnic/gender identities of candidates have become more important than issues relating to the steering of our overall ship of state.
As long as democratic voters continue to put their own political identities ahead of what the oligarchs are doing to all constituencies, the more elections democrats will lose, and deservedly so.
Mike Taylor
Hey Mike!
"Obama promised transparency, but Assange is the one who brought it."
I have to disagree... strongly
Note that I agree with your overall conceptual framework. But this bit here is very dangerous in my opinion:
Yes, I get it that we are all being systemically oppressed by the plutocrats. That includes various identity groups. But it is also true that racism and bigotry are real things and in this nation, significant things. They too are a very significant debate that needs to be had.
The corporatists like to paint racial and economic justice as mutually exclusive. They do so for obvious reasons. I don't share that opinion.

They've moved the goalposts again!
The media is of course calling this part of the "Russia probe," but this indictment has nothing even to do with Russia. Manafort and Gates were just indicted for hiding their income from their lobbying work for Ukraine between 2006 and 2015. Ukraine is not Russia. 2006 is not 2016. But I don't know, maybe if I just drink more Kool-Aid I'll understand how the yacht Paul Manafort bought in 2009 with his Ukrainian money caused Hillary to lose in 2016. Just a little more Kool-Aid.

How's this one

Important points.
What's not understood is, the oligarchs can't oppress all groups equally.
Imposing an equal level of oppression on all groups would generate public unity against the TPTB.
For their own protection, the TPTB must facilitate the oppression of some groups over others, and in different ways than others, making the system reward some groups more than others, at the same time allowing a majority of people to be content with the way it is, to prevent public unity against the TPTB.
They would rather have all groups blaming each other than to have them blame the unequal institutional oppression that was created, facilitated and financed by the TPTB.
Mike Taylor
I agree, these are important points.
We must not forget the strategy of divide and conquer - it's what we are up against and must resist. We need to unify in order to successfully revolt.

Bill, Hillary, the Podestas and Manafort gave us Dolt 45.
The evidence is in plain sight, yet Billary's most staunch supporters not only ignore it, but treat those who were marginalized like animals.
Dolt 45 is a willing, albeit incredibly stupid pawn and his supporters moreso.
We really and truly have no place to go.

It's worse than "stupid"
in some instances. I talk to very intelligent people who are so intent on treating Trump as the ultimate existential threat they put themselves into full out panic (he's A threat; that we had the choice of him or Her is the much greater threat from now until that kind of thing doesn't happen).
People are Emmanuel Goldsteining like there's no tomorrow. And you can't talk a lick of sense. It's like some kind of religion they've got going.
Russia Derangement Syndrome.
Orwell: Where's the omelette?
“Emmanuel Goldsteining like there’s no tomorrow”
Great turn of phrase. You have a way with words.
People are still blaming Bernie for Her loss
they think that Hillary was the only person that had the right to campaign for the presidency. Would they feel this same way if it had been Biden instead who ran against her?
And I'm still seeing people blaming anyone who didn't vote for as the reason Trump is president.
This means that they think that people had the responsibility to vote for her and only her because it was Trump that she was running against.
As I've stated before, she is the only candidate in history that thought that all she needed to do was show up at the convention and be crowned Ms. Candidate! So do her supporters.
Scientists are concerned that conspiracy theories may die out if they keep coming true at the current alarming rate.
I was told today, a vote against Her was a vote for Trump
Was also called a traitor and told:
I'd rather have that, than Henry fucking Kissinger and the deep state. Ugh.
Not here, of course, and not at TOP, because I don't go there anymore.
Yep. I've been told this same thing
even though I didn't bother to vote for anyone. I tell anyone who says that to me that no, I am not responsible for Hillary's loss or Trump's win. Obama cured me of voting in the general election after I believed what he said. I'm sure I'm not alone though. This is just kabuki theater that the PTB decided to let us do thinking that it matters who we vote for. I doubt I'll ever vote again for this presidential farce.
I think I should at least vote in my state elections for the proposals that affect my city, but I'm not sure if that matters anyway. The PTB that rule us are going to do whatever they want regardless of how we vote. The video, "corruption is legal" shows that it doesn't matter how many people want congress to pass what we want them to, they will only listen to what their masters wants them to pass.

against the candidate who sent out a glossy flyer with a photo of her and Obama smiling widely.
Clearly there's too much support here for fair pay and human rights issues and it has to be damped down.

@Deja
What else can be expected but the Party Line you're expected to toe, or else! from people promoting those who detest - and reject in their own words - the very concept of democracy and hate you for your freedom?
You can't yet be arrested for voting 'wrong' but I expect somewhere, some group will be working on ways and means to achieve this. Perhaps under 'voting for the (American-electoral-interference-turned-croney-capitalist) "Reds" ' rather than for 'The Approved (Corporate/War-Mongering, Israel-Approved) Candidate'?
Psychopathy is not a political position, whether labeled 'conservatism', 'centrism' or 'left'.
A tin labeled 'coffee' may be a can of worms or pathology identified by a lack of empathy/willingness to harm others to achieve personal desires.
It seems many dissatisfied dems and former dems
think this problem with the democratic party is fairly recent, i.e., it happened under Clinton, etc.
I think more need to think more broadly than that relative to this political system. If not, most will simply go back to the democratic party each time a new and improved candidate comes along, like Sanders.
