I'm tired of Dems like Rob Reiner crying Russia is at war with United States because Hillary lost

Rob Reiner is at it again. Not content to make specious videos, now he's pushing his unfounded conspiracy theory that Russia is at war with the USA because Hillary lost to the Donald on Twitter.

Here's my response on Twitter to his conspiracy theory that Russia attacked our country by doing - what exactly - advertising on Facebook? There is still no hard evidence that Russia did anything to influence the electoral results, or, even if it did, that its efforts had any real impact on the 2016 election.

The evidence that the DNC and the Clinton campaign conspired to rig the election in her favor and against Bernie Sanders is well known. Hillary's campaign even pushed their servants in the corporate media to promote Donald Trump in what is known as the "pied piper strategy" because they thought he would be easier to beat than other GOP candidates. They lied and smeared Sanders as being a communist, a sexist, an atheist and a racist all to help Hillary win. Multiple studies of the primary demonstrated how just how far the DNC and the Clintons went to rig the primary against Sanders.

[These] stories are just two of thousands of reports of voter registration tampering, purging, or obstruction recorded by Election Justice USA (EJUSA). Many cases in EJUSA’s database are supported by registration records, emails to and from officials, phone records, or affidavit testimony. Available evidence from Arizona, New York, and California suggests more than 500,000 registrations were tampered with or improperly handled. While Ms. Guerrero was allowed to vote, hundreds of thousands of voters were denied the right to vote or were forced to vote provisionally. A quarter million or more provisional or affidavit Democratic ballots were not counted. Available evidence also suggests that the vast majority of suppressed voters would have voted or tried to vote for Senator Bernie Sanders.

Based on concrete evidence, Election Justice USA surmises that, unlike Alba’s case, the majority of the registration tampering could only have been carried out by computer hackers: in many cases, the changes to voter registrations are provably back-dated in official electronic records. Other forms of direct voter suppression, however, were carried out by partisan elections officials in states like New York and California. In Brooklyn alone, 121,000 voters were wrongly or even illegally purged from voter rolls leading up to New York's vote. The Brooklyn voter purge disproportionately affected Hispanic voters.[3] Analyses in Democracy Lost show that voter purges also disproportionately affected Sanders’ vote totals: the percentage of purged voters for each precinct was a significant predictor of Clinton’s vote share. New York City’s Board of Elections suspended two high-level employees without pay but has offered no substantive explanation.

Meanwhile, despite months of rabid reporting by our corporate news media alleging that Russia's government intervened in the election to defeat Hillary Clinton, we've yet to see any hard evidence to support that claim. Indeed the claims are being debunked with greater frequency each passing day.

Earlier this summer, Dallas gained national attention when county officials claimed Russians tried to hack their voter registration rolls.

Tried but failed.

It was national news when the story broke last June. It was news again when the story re-surfaced on a network newscast just days ago. But emails obtained by WFAA indicate that the information coming from Dallas County officials and circulating around the country was wrong. [...]

But WFAA has obtained internal Dallas County emails indicating the Russian hack attempt likely never happened.

The initial news reports of the alleged Russian hack attempt apparently caught Dallas County chief onformation officer Stanley Victrum by surprise. At 1:30 p.m. on June 13 Victrum contacted Pippins-Poole.

"To our knowledge, there have been no such subject attempts," Victrum said.

"Can you share your insights on what Ms. Toni is referring?" he asked two hours later in an email to his staff. "To our knowledge we haven't been hacked."

Yet the next day, June 14, Pippins-Poole repeated and confirmed the 17 hack attempts to the Dallas media outlets.

Later that day, Victrum stood his ground in another email. This time with Dallas County chief administrator Darryl Martin.

"We don't have specific indications at this time that Russian hackers ... those 17 Russian IP addresses in question ... were attempting to hack the County Elections systems, especially since we, for all intents and purposes, block IP addresses from Russia," Victrum said.

The next day, after further review, another email, this time from a county computer engineer who sent an email to representatives of the Dallas County District Attorney's Office.

"IT security has nothing to support the claims by the elections department," the engineer said.

Pippins-Poole has declined an on-camera interview but by phone appeared to be backing off her claim from last June.

"I don't know how there is absolute proof that [the Russians] were the ones trying to get in," Pippins Poole said. "We really can't say."

Pippins-Poole then directed us to Victrum, who confirmed no Russian hacking attempt had been detected.

"To my knowledge there's no evidence that occurred," he said.

So please tell Rob Reiner (twitter handle: @robreiner) and his neocon friends at the Committee to Investigate Russia they are full of "it." As in fecal matter. Hillary lost because she was a bad candidate, because of hubris, because she ran a historically incompetent campaign, and because she did not support the progressive values and policies that would have garnered her the votes she needed to defeat Donald Trump. She didn't require Vladimir Putin's help to lose, as she did that all by herself. And we sure don't need her and her fanatical groupies like Rob Reiner to continue to lie about why she lost the last election while also attacking Sanders and the progressive movement he spawned. Clintonism and its style of "pay to play" big money politics is the past. It should stay there.

That meme about Her Royal Coronation supplanting Trump started arriving in my inbox right after the election, under many different names and often with no heading related to this. (Not that Mini-Me-Cheney-acolyte, fundie-religious-fanatic, up-in-your-uterus-and-personal-life Pence would be - pardon the understatement - any better. Much the same as Her, in fact, and I expect with such as Cheney running the show in either case. We just wouldn't hear about any of it.)

I somehow knew it wasn't going to stop - these are psychopaths we're dealing with and they want what they want when they want it, no matter who or what suffers for it... laws, rules and morals do not apply to those with no conscience, no empathy and either their own or other people's billions to throw around in imposing their whim upon others.

The country has been long since been run, and governments finally completely taken over, by psychopaths. America needs regime change, now.

@EdMass It took about 6 years for McCarthy to run his course. One aspect of McCarthyism is the squashing of dissent by claiming it was in-authentically created by the Russians (as Hoover did with the Civil Rights movement). Last year in a straight article the NY Times claimed that Putin was behind attacks on TPP.

In Attempted Hit Piece, NYT Makes Putin Hero of Defeating TPP
https://www.commondreams.org/views/2016/09/03/attempted-hit-piece-nyt-ma...

But the most remarkable stunt in this 5,000 screed is taking Wikileaks’ efforts to show policies a great many people believe are counterproductive — most importantly, passing trade deals that benefit corporations while hurting real people, but also weakening other strong hands in climate change negotiations — and insinuating they might be a Putinesque plot.

TOP is conspiracy central where Russians can be found everywhere.

This has been the pattern since Hillary's campaign cooked up this Russian BS. The articles states that Russia hacked the election. This is written as a fact.
Federal government notifies 21 states of election hacking

Then inside the articles are these words:

The federal government on Friday told election officials in 21 states that hackers targeted their systems before last year's presidential election.

The notification came roughly a year after U.S. Department of Homeland Security officials first said states were targeted by hacking efforts possibly connected to Russia. The states that told The Associated Press they had been targeted included some key political battlegrounds, such as Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin.

So this means that Russia was able to gain access to the voting machines, right? And they have proof that this was done by Russia? Umm, not so much:

Being targeted does not mean that sensitive voter data was manipulated or results were changed. A hacker targeting a system without getting inside is similar to a burglar circling a house checking for unlocked doors and windows.

Oh I see, nothing was changed. This is great news, don't you think? Nothing happened during the election to say that they have proof that Russia interfered with the election. So everything is okay and Trump was really elected by people in this country who weren't brainwashed by the Russians because they hate Hillary. Good to know. This means that we can relax. No again.

Even so, the widespread nature of the attempts and the yearlong lag time in notification from Homeland Security raised concerns among some election officials and lawmakers.

Now after we have confirmed that Russia didn't gain access to our voting machines, we can again relax, right? Umm, nope. Not just yet.

For many states, the Friday calls were the first official confirmation of whether their states were on the list — even though state election officials across the country have been calling for months for the federal government to share information about any hacks, as have members of Congress.
"It is completely unacceptable that it has taken DHS over a year to inform our office of Russian scanning of our systems, despite our repeated requests for information," California Secretary of State Alex Padilla, a Democrat, said in a statement. "The practice of withholding critical information from elections officials is a detriment to the security of our elections and our democracy."

See how this works? There is no solid proof that Russia was involved, but Alex injects his own wording into the conversation and this is what people take as proof of election tampering.
Why is this a detriment to the security of our elections and democracy
if Russia didn't actually change anything? Maybe I'm too dense to understand what happened.

The government did not say who was behind the hacking attempts or provide details about what had been sought. But election officials in several states said the attempts were linked to Russia.

Okay, where's the proof of this statement by election officials? Damn. They do not want to believe that nothing happened during this election. No proof whatsoever that Russia, or to be more clear, PUTIN didn't do a damn thing to make sure that Trump was elected because he doesn't like Hillary. Maybe he did some nifty mindmeld on me afterall because I don't like Hillary either.

Okay. Let's put this to rest for once and for all.
Oh shit!

The Wisconsin Election Commission, for example, said the state's systems were targeted by "Russian government cyber actors." Alaska Elections Division Director Josie Bahnke said computers in Russia were scanning election systems looking for vulnerabilities.

I agree with Steven. The people who actually did change people's party affiliation is a bigger threat to our so called democracy than possible attempts of hacking and made up tomfoolery as is kicking people off the voting rolls altogether. As is rigging the election so that Herheinous could become the candidate. If one has to cheat to win, doesn't this show that she was such a bad candidate and that there was a very good chance that she would lose the election to the worst candidate in this country's history? I feel strongly that this is What Happened Hillary Rodam Clinton.

BTW. She was on tv blaming White Women for her loss. Anyone want to guess which website ate this shit up? Sigh

There are 3 things that can be done that shows absolute proof of this Russian propaganda.
The FBI can look at the DNC computers and determine if they were hacked or if the information was indeed downloaded and given to Wikileaks.
The NSA has records that will prove or disprove that the Russians hacked the DNC computers.
They can ask Assange if he received their emails from Russia.
None of these things happened. But let's just take their word for it.

Oh yeah. They can ask Obama what he meant when he said that there was no proof of Russian interfering with the election!

Homeland Security tied to attempted hack of Georgia's election database: Report
Antonio José Vielma | @AJ_Vielma
Published 4:47 PM ET Thu, 8 Dec 2016 Updated 10:17 AM ET Fri, 9 Dec 2016

An attempted hack into Georgia's voter registration database was traced back to the Department of Homeland Security, The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.

A third-party security firm working for the state detected the unsuccessful breach and linked it to an IP address associated with DHS, the report said. Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp reportedly sent a letter to Homeland Security asking the department to confirm whether an attempt was made.

In his letter, The Wall Street Journal reported, Kemp asked the department to confirm whether a scan attempt was made, who authorized the scan and whether the department was scanning other state systems without authorization.

Leading up to the election, questions were raised about the security of state computer systems that protect voting data. Homeland Security reportedly considered declaring election systems as "critical infrastructure," which would have given the federal agency the authority to protect the systems. A spokesman for the Department of Homeland Security didn't immediately respond to the publication's request for comment.

OUTRAGEOUS: Election hacks traced back to Obama’s Department of Homeland Security

Wednesday, December 28, 2016 by JD Heyes

In an unbelievable development that ought to outrage every single American, election officials in Georgia are essentially accusing the Obama administration of attempting to hack into the state’s electronic balloting machines in what appears to be a naked political ploy. ...

... As reported by WSBTV in Atlanta, the Georgia secretary of state, Brian Kemp, is demanding answers from the Department of Homeland Security after election officials there traced nearly a dozen hacking attempts back to the agency.

Kemp, in an interview with the local news, said he was “mad as hell” after what he described as a massive cyberattack on the state’s electronic balloting network were traced back to a DHS IP address. ...

... During the interview a visibly frustrated Kemp confirmed attacks of varying levels on his agency’s network over the previous 10 months, all of which were traced back to DHS Internet Service Provider addresses.

“We’re being told something that they think they have it figured out, yet nobody’s really showed us how this happened,” Kemp said. “We need to know.”

Not coincidentally, the hacks occurred during a time when DHS was attempting to convince states they needed the Obama administration to help them monitor their electronic balloting to help guard against ‘Russian hacking.’

It just so happens that Georgia was one of the primary states DHS had approached.

The first hack occurred on Feb. 2, the following day after Georgia’s voter registration deadline passed. The next attack took place just a few days before the SEC primary.

Then another attack came in May, one day before Georgia’s general primary; two more followed in November, the day before and the day after the Nov. 8 general election. ...

... Sounds like the Obama administration has been working on their fake post-election narrative, “The Russians hacked the election for Trump!” for months now.

As for DHS, Kemp says the agency keeps changing its story.

“First it was an employee in Corpus Christi, and now it’s a contractor in Georgia,” Kemp said. ...

But then it goes back to Russia!!! of course...

As Feds Continue to Blame Russia, Indiana Officials Expose DHS in Massive 2016 Election Hack
By
Jack Burns -
February 23, 2017

According to a report published by the Daily Caller News Foundation Investigative Group, the Department of Homeland Security, under the Obama administration, attempted to hack the Indiana State electoral system nearly 15,000 times. The news comes in the wake of months of post-election talk the Russians helped Donald Trump get elected, thwarting any chance of Hillary Clinton to win in November of 2016.

Yet even with the bipartisan parade of politicians, including former president Barack H. Obama, Lindsey Graham, John McCain, and others, the American people have not been presented one shred of evidence to suggest the Russians attempted to meddle with the elections. Free thinkers everywhere are scratching their heads, and asking themselves if they’re supposed to believe the so-called leaders in Washington, without being presented with any proof the Kremlin had anything to do with Clinton’s loss.

The bully in Washington may have used his executive powers to go after states such as Indiana, that “resisted then-President Barack Obama’s attempt to increase federal involvement in state and local election systems by designating them as ‘critical infrastructure’ for national security,” writes DCNF’s Richard Pollack. To better describe the hacking attempt, Pollack described it as a “scanning assault.” ...

... Seemingly miffed by the IT intrusion is Indiana Secretary of State Connie Lawson, who also serves as president of NASS. She told Pollack, “we know that between November 1 and December 16, we were scanned with about 14,800 scans, nearly 15,000 different times,” an action which was traced back to a Department of Homeland Security computer’s IP address, which was the same system used to hack into Georgia’s electoral system as well, making it the second time the federal government has been implicated in attempting to hack into state election systems. She points the finger squarely at the Obama administration’s DHS, saying she believed the scans were possibly retaliatory since the state chose not to allow DHS to get their hands on Indiana’s electoral infrastructure. “We declined their assistance,” she said but added, “our voter registration system was not penetrated.”...

... In terms of proof, the only evidence presented, which indicates the Election of 2016 was tampered with, is coming from sovereign states, two of whom are now pointing the finger at the Obama administration’s DHS, for attempting to hack their own state’s system. It must be plainly stated. Factually speaking, the Department of Homeland Security has twice been implicated in election hacking, not the Russians. ...

... There were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Benghazi wasn’t the result of a spontaneous demonstration against an anti-Islam film. And no, not yet do we believe the Russians hacked the Election of 2016, although two reports indicate our own federal government most certainly did. Ironically, DHS has yet to comment on the accusations coming from Georgia and Indiana, a notable silence which appears to be deafening.

This is all over the place on the intertubz - and it's not been twisted off as 'right vs left' in the manner hoped, with the better informed united against The Psychopaths and Parasites That Be.

Some are, indeed, blinded by the projector light, but not, perhaps, nearly as many as The Psychopaths That Be and their lackeys might have hoped... and perhaps mostly those whose investments or paycheques are involved in the scam/military mugging industry?

Edit: now, of course all electoral infrastructure has been placed under Top Secret Homeland Security control by Obama, before leaving office... trampling Habeas Corpus Corpses underfoot en route. Whadda guy!

@Linda Wood @Linda Wood

That and the fact that Homeland Security tied both the false Russia hacking claim and the false claim of a need for the public/private agency to take over absolute control of all electoral infrastructure and information, using its own hacks, claimed in the face of the known fact that they themselves were attempting to hack into the electoral apparatus.

This following is rather interesting, and unless I'm misunderstanding this... do all of these IT people when hired have potential for gaining access to matters of national security, simply by working for private contractors at cheap rates, being women and disabled veterans and all?

Considering the general lack of concern for national security displayed generally among those presumed to be in charge of it, I do wonder... although not perhaps with as much concern as some of the companies used, which are listed further down the page at source.

why hasn't Trump told his FBI and NSA heads to look into this possible Russian interference and hack? They can put this to bed if they show that the DNC computers weren't hacked and so could the NSA. This is what Ray McGovern and William Brinley said after they determined that the DNC computers weren't hacked. The information was proven to be downloaded, not hacked.
The main reason for this Russian propaganda is so that no one asks if the DNC and Hillary's campaign emails were true or not. The information that Wikileaks released showed that they rigged the election. But not one person has even bothered to ask if this was true.

This is the point that gulfgal has pointed out. The DNC computers are not related with the government in any way. So why has this part of the allegations been addressed. She says that it's like one of our computers were hacked and the government decided that we are at war with Russia.
The other allegations of Russia attempting to hack state computers was something that came up after Herheinous lost.
This is just beyond stupid.

... why hasn't Trump told his FBI and NSA heads to look into this possible Russian interference and hack? ...

Dunno but maybe due to such as polluting industry representative ex-Vice President Dick Cheney (typoed that as Sick Cheney, but maybe that was the truth coming out) running things in the background, influencing the Senatorial votes (as with the example given of Cheney's call to Marco Rubio) and appointments of Republicans such as with the push for Tillerson as Trump's Secretary of State illustrated in this article following, together with his mentoring of Pence, who wants to '...model his Vice Presidency on Cheney's...' and who's ready to step in the instant Trump is impeached, as has been continually threatened?

Only Trump (as he might say, if he were Obama) stands between us and the Bush/Cheney Admin 2 in full bore, with 10,000% more rabid fundie religious fanatism. (Gah!)

But as long as the same globally destructive and pathologically greed-driven goals are pursued with the same cabal ruthlessly driving whoever attains public office over that cliff and dragging the rest of us with it, the results will be similar.

To paraphrase/mangle a famous quote: sometimes you have to fight with the situation you have (in government) to get the responsive, legitimate government you and your country want and need.

Cheney emerges as surprise Trump surrogate

The president-elect trashed his foreign policy during the campaign, but they've found common cause in Rex Tillerson.

...It’s a scenario no one could have possibly foreseen: that one of the key architects of the Iraq War, which Trump slammed on the campaign trail, is now being enlisted as an emissary for a man Trump wants to help steer his ship of state.

Rick Dearborn, executive director of the Trump transition and a Senate veteran who served as chief of staff to Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions for more than a decade, is looking to leverage Cheney's influence with key GOP senators, according to a transition aide.

Another transition aide said Cheney's imprimatur may serve as "a good housekeeping seal of approval" with Republican skeptics. And indeed, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio received a call from the former vice president earlier this week. The goal: “To move Marco the right way,” according to a source familiar with the conversation. Rubio will cast a pivotal vote on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, which must approve the nomination before it proceeds to the full Senate.

The former vice president is also in close contact with senior Trump aides. Cheney speaks frequently with the vice president-elect, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, who himself serves as a liaison between the president-elect and Capitol Hill, and who has said he hopes to model his vice presidency on Cheney’s.

“Mike relishes the advice,” said a senior transition aide, who added that Cheney is “willing to do what he’s asked” and “wants to be helpful” to the incoming administration.” ...

So, is Trump really making his own appointments to head each department, such as the FBI or (very clearly long-out-of-control) CIA or following the list he's been given by The Psychopaths That Be, so similar to that seemingly given to each incoming new President?

In the long run, does Trump - or any President - really have any more of an independent vote than any other American citizen is permitted by TPTB and their lackeys?

The Psychopaths and Parasites That Be must all be removed from all possibility of political/policy influence and, somehow, a legitimate democratic government and fair actual voting system brought in.

Still haven't found my magic wand, though; last I saw, the unicorn was playing fetch with it, training the pixies.

Psychopathy is not a political position, whether labeled 'conservatism', 'centrism' or 'left'.

A tin labeled 'coffee' may be a can of worms or pathology identified by a lack of empathy/willingness to harm others to achieve personal desires.

Wanted to address this separately, mainly for any drive-by readers who might need background:

...This is the point that gulfgal has pointed out. The DNC computers are not related with the government in any way. So why has this part of the allegations been addressed. She says that it's like one of our computers were hacked and the government decided that we are at war with Russia. ...

Exactly! That part makes no sense at all, and neither does anything else to do with this whole fuster-cluck. And so it must all be covered in a cloud of polluting-industry-style confusion tactics - although the facts remain.

Once one of the only two permitted US 'political parties' announced in court that they were privately owned and had an exclusive membership which they felt they 'were not obligated to serve the interests of' in despite of their own bylaws, (as with their own broken bylaws by the DNC during the nomination selection process, laws and morals of all sorts being only for 'the little people they seek to control) people began asking why private corporations with exclusive memberships were permitted to select the only candidates Americans were allowed to vote for, in the first place.

And in the second: how could those entrusted with positions of responsibility and the delegated powers of the people possibly be considered 'above the law' and somehow able to both break law with impunity and create/use legislation intended to protect the public interest against it?

This is not the direction in which they would prefer the people's concerns be directed.

Especially since vulnerabilities have been created for and installed in everyone else's computers so that public/private spy agencies (and any other self-interested criminal hackers that come along) can spy on and access personal/banking information on everyone else, placing the world at risk in an explosion of identity/cash theft rates and rudely intruding into the personal lives of others, providing entertainment for bored corporate employees as well as further enormous corporate profits at the expense of the American people, using public funding intended to maintain the public good of which the taxpayer is then deprived.

And since a complete disregard for national security has been displayed by those purportedly in charge of protecting it.

All this is a huge can of very slimy worms, as we see the instant we start looking at it.

So, distractions based on global subjugation objectives are created, and we have 'the Russians did it!!!' applied to virtually every criminal/immoral situation they've themselves created, no matter how ludicrous or impossible such claims prove to be.

This in great part because psychopaths - however cunning they may be - are basically unreasoning idiots with built-in megalomania, and figure that everyone else (for whom they have only contempt) is an idiot, too.

And because censorship is being increasingly imposed, on top of the massive 'legalized' propagandizing of their own population.

It amazes me that people are still unaware that America is a fascist state, apparently often on the grounds that internet commenters such as ourselves have not yet been arrested and hauled off to slave labour prisons/mass graves. In which case, I suppose the unaware would then claim that America isn't fascist yet, since nobody protests any more...

Ha Ha!

This is rich

Russian media calls out Morgan Freeman for ‘marijuana use’

If I were as rich as this, c99 would never need another donation......

Hey Ivan Ivanovitch! Marijuana is better for you than bathtub vodka! You might want to give it a try before you knock it!

I suppose you need a filtered straw handy before climbing in the tub of vodka? Is it big enough for the whole party to fit in?

...continuing the thought, could the corporate parties both fit to be drowned in it, as their paymasters so deeply desire for government? Or does that only work with Malmsey?

has nothing to do with marijuana, and Russian media's reaction to it has nothing to do with vodka.
