The End is Nigh

As a politician when you lose the confidence of big business across the board in one fell swoop, even if you are the President your days are numbered.

Donald Trump was forced to disband two White House business councils disintegrating around him on Wednesday in the wake of his controversial remarks about the weekend violence in Charlottesville.

The Strategic and Policy Forum and the White House Manufacturing Jobs Initiative were both dissolved as corporate leaders continued to resign.

Good to see that the CEO's still worry about what their consumer base thinks of them. The major shareholders would have been on the phone non-stop.

It's all about the profit stupid.

Obviously running away from the Presidential toxic glow seems a better idea to them than any profit to be gained by playing along.

The owners are not happy, expect the Republican and Democratic Parties to react.

Just a matter of time now.

@LaFeminista well the problem is us. The problem is one of how do we withdraw from the circle of enabling and start to do things for ourselves, from within the Matrix here.

So right now:

The cops enable the neo-Confederates.
The Republicans enable the cops.
The Democrats enable the Republicans.
The liberals enable the Democrats.

Your nice business reps, who would destroy the planet if it meant they could claim it as their asset, have decided Trump isn't their cup of tea. Maybe they would be happier if Trump wasn't such an obvious enabler of neo-Confederates? I can't say I care too much about their happiness. Put an end to capitalism, and the nice business reps can join the union of free producers like everyone else.

@Cassiodorus I'm happy some of them left and wish that none of them were in a position to craft policy because it is all about what is best for their respective corporations, not the general Public at large but look at the names that chose to stay, giving support for Trump's views. The war profiteers on the list are no surprise being on the list that are sticking with Trump, but the problem is bipartisan.Big time.
• Andrew Liveris, Dow Chemical
• Bill Brown, Harris Corporation
• Michael Dell, Dell Technologies
• John Ferriola, Nucor Corporation
• Jeff Fettig, Whirlpool Corporation
• Alex Gorsky, Johnson & Johnson
• Greg Hayes, United Technologies Corp.
• Marilynn Hewson, Lockheed Martin Corp.
Jeff Immelt, General Electric
• Jim Kamsickas, Dana Inc.
• Rich Kyle, The Timken Company
• Thea Lee, AFL-CIO
• Denise Morrison, Campbell Soup
• Dennis Muilenburg, Boeing
• Doug Oberhelman, Caterpillar
• Michael Polk, Newell Brands
• Mark Sutton, International Paper
• Inge Thulin, 3M
• Richard Tumka, AFL-CIO
• Wendell Weeks, Corning

In fact if Obama rounded up the same group to form a policy for jobs people should be protesting all over the Country, but oh wait a minute one of the worst on the list, in terms of outsourcing American jobs, was Obama's man on leading a 'job creation' effort, Jeff Immelt. Or Mr. China China China China China (5x)in the words of Bernie Sanders in his famous filibuster speech against Jeffery Immelt.

Here is the comment I posted at DownWithTyranny....http://downwithtyranny.blogspot.com/

Amazing, look at the names/representatives that have no problem with it all, no surprise with the war profiteering corporations, but there is one name on the list that shows how bipartisan it all is, and that is Obama's man, Jeff Immelt...
"In January, President Obama named General Electric CEO Jeffrey Immelt to head the President's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness, an economic advisory board focused on job creation." http://www.cbsnews.com/news/white-house-defends-embrace-of-ge-ceo-despit...

Remember him? You should as Sen. Bernie Sanders gave a famous filibuster of his nomination.

"GE is, of course, one of our major corporations. The manufacturer's recent disclosure pointed out, the taxpayers of this country, through the Fed, provided $16 billion in bailout to General Electric during the recent crisis. This is what the head, the CEO of General Electric, Jeffrey Immelt, said in 2002, December 6:

When I am talking to GE managers, I talk China, China, China, China, China. You need to be there. You need to change the way people talk about it and how they get there. I am a nut on China. Outsourcing from China is going to grow to 5 billion. We are building a tech center in China. Every discussion today has to center on China. The cost basis is extremely attractive. You can take an 18-cubic-foot refrigerator, make it in China, land it in the United States, and land it for less than we can make an 18-cubic-foot refrigerator today ourselves.

Gee. A couple of years ago when GE had some difficult economic times, and they needed $16 billion to bail them out, I did not hear Mr. Immelt going to China, China, China, China, China. I did not hear that. I heard Mr. Immelt going to the taxpayers of the United States for his welfare check.

So I say to Mr. Immelt, and I say to all of those CEOs who have been so quick to run to China, that maybe it is time to start reinvesting in the United States of America."

I would bet my home that a Republican Congress, maybe not even a Democratic one, will impeach two successive Republican Presidents. However, if I lose that bet, his VP will succeed Pence (and I'll be apartment-hunting, sadder and poorer, but wiser).

@Johnny Q So impeaching Trump will give you Pence, and hating Trump is of no import until you actually restore hope to the group that didn't vote for President at all because they had no interest in Clinton. They're not going to vote for Booker or Cuomo or whomever feels entitled to your vote in '20.

Okay so how do you do that? "Rebuilding the Democratic Party" is an easy opportunity for co-optation or election fraud. Starting a new party might have been a good idea had Sanders done it last year, but Sanders really isn't interested.

They have the power to make Senator Sanders, "the most popular politician in America", President. If Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan really wanted to put Country over party, they would do a double impeachment of Trump and Pence. Ryan would be the next in line and he could either make Bernie the VP and then resign, or Bernie could be given the fourth position of succession, Orrin Hatch's President Pro Tempore position, and Ryan could defer to Bernie by not accepting the Presidency.

The fact that Bernie is technically neither a Republican nor a Democrat could make that a little easier, but ... why would the spineless GOP do that?

The socialists... the people who refused to hold their nose and vote for the nice, friendly corporate candidate. So, not only will Trump be a Nazi, he'll also be referred to as the darling of the left, further discrediting the left in American politics.

People are already suggesting that much stronger actions need to be taken, and lucky us, the cops are standing by to smash those hippies heads...

Amazon Stock Market Value Drops By $5B After Single Tweet By Trump
Newsweek 23m ago

Amazon’s stock market value plunged by more than $5 billion following a tweet by Donald Trump that criticized the company. The president took to Twitter on Wednesday to slam the e-commerce giant for job losses in the U.S. and for its tax collection policy.

“Amazon is doing great damage to tax paying retailers. Towns, cities and states throughout the U.S. are being hurt — many jobs being lost!” Trump wrote in a tweet. The company’s stock fell by 0.9 percent just minutes after the message was shared.

Love what he says about Amazon but of course you cannot trust a single thing he says.

It also let's some of his voters join with those wealthy CEO's and convince themselves that race had NOTHING to do with electing him. This may very well be an "oh shit" moment for many of his voters.
