Sen. Harris Is Charlie Brown
Here it comes. Everybody is Hippie Punching the Alt Left Bernie Bros for not joining hands with Uncle Joe Biden, Pelosi, Hillary, et.al. in a Great Big Tent to sing a rousing chorus of Kumbaya.
Over at Digby's Hullabaloo Tom Sullivan discusses The Left’s Misguided Debate Over Kamala Harris
by David Dayen.
We are misguided fools because the Mortgage Foreclosure Crisis is still going on!:
Every day in America, somebody gets tossed out of a home based on false documents. Their elected officials surely know this; if I get a steady stream of letters from people with consistent stories about mortgage fraud, then senators and congressmen surely do as well. So instead of debating who was “tough” on corporate criminals and who wasn’t—since no one was—we should implore these would-be leaders to speak the hell up about the perversion of justice happening every day in courtrooms and foreclosure auctions across the country.
Senator Harris represents California, where the unconscionable treatment of foreclosure victims continues to terrorize families. Senator Cory Booker styles himself a leader in New Jersey, home to the highest foreclosure rate in the nation. The last time Senator Bernie Sanders said a word about foreclosures was when he was trying to win a primary election in hard-hit Nevada. There are activist groups all over Massachusetts fighting foreclosures that could use some high-profile support from Senator Elizabeth Warren.
Okay! Stop picking on Sen. Harris and the Democratic party because they still won't save Americans from illegal foreclosures.
Did I read that right? Nobody in the Democratic party has lifted a finger to stop continuing illegal foreclosures by TBTF banks that Obama bailed out. Therefore, we should stop complaining!
Sullivan also links to a Cosmo article:
Brittney Cooper's complaints about the Harris dust-up at Cosmopolitan come from having a black woman's perspective:
It’s not right to expect us to fix what white Americans are so committed to breaking. This debate, then, isn’t about Harris, but about the emotional and political labor that black women are expected to do to save America’s soul.
Nice bankshot! A double combination dodge shot in the corner pocket!

I'm Charlie Brown.
Of course, you do realize that Charles Schultz designed Charlie to be Everyman (including and especially himself), right?

"what white Americans are so...
...committed to breaking."??????
So the problem is white people? All white people?
Not bankers. Not crooks. White people.
That is certainly a helpful attitude and not totally inaccurate at all
It is always the white people.
Unless, of course, it is the millennials. I read the Cosmos article. I didn't know if I should hand her a cross or a hankie. They can whine all they want. The only thing they are going to accomplish is pushing people away and another loss. FDR Dems are no longer their base. They belong to the Reagan Republicans.

The thing to hand over in response to a whine like that is a piece of cheese.
Question is: just which cheese goes with a whine like that, anyway? I suggest Liederkranz left at room temperature for at least a week!
And when we get a third party to fully embrace the New Deal (ex)Dems, and have them embrace it, that will mark the end of the Democratic Party.

There is no justice. There can be no peace.
It's a two for one as well.
And yet, we're the ones being divisive?

I used to love reading Charlie Pierce
but after last year, can't do it anymore. I've tried a couple times recently but he's not the same.
Brittney Cooper and Digby I gave up about the same time, maybe a bit before Pierce. Great divide and conquer there with a black woman, who CHOSE her job, being tasked and somehow FORCED with the never ending terrible job of trying to fix everything wrong with white or any other America. I hope she gets some pushback on that remark.

Speaking of foreclosures
Detroit has been foreclosing on mostly Black homeowners because they weren't paying their property taxes that they didn't know about.
As Downtown Detroit Gentrifies, Longtime Black Residents Fight Illegal Tax Foreclosures
This is another part of Obama's legacy. After bailing out the banks and continued giving them trillions, he did absolutely nothing for mainstream Americans. Especially the people who were having their homes foreclosed on.
Over 9 million people lost their homes and many of them were in the process of refinancing their homes while the other departments in the banks were working to take their homes away.
And even after the fact that banks were using robo signing and other fraudulent activities, Obama's justice department sat on their buttocks.
The kids at ToP have already started with their racist and sexist accusations against anyone who thinks the DP could do better than Harris.
Putin isn’t going to make you homeless or kill you or deny you health care.
Your government will allow it to happen though.
racist/sexist accusations
So if I support Nina Turner over Kamala Harris, I'm a racist, sexist pig?
I'll say it again: Daily Kos has finished its ride in the handbasket, and Satan is complaining "there goes the neighborhood"!

That sort of thing being why I'll bet that he gets a really big legacy of really big bucks from those relative few who benefited from everyone else being sucked dry.

A few questions for David Dayen
With the exception of Warren, who has struck me as more paper tiger on these things anyway, where have they been until now? Why have they turned a blind eye? Why do we have to ignore that they haven't given a damn yet, vote for business as usual and hope they'll somehow impart a little of their political magic on helping the 99% out? Why do we have to earn the favor of Harris, Booker, etc. when they should be doing this stuff anyway? Shouldn't they be earning our favor by finally doing the right thing, right now, rather than insisting we continue on and, well, maybe they'll think about it later? And finally, what's with the undercurrent here that these pols are somehow entitled to their positions and that it's absolutely beyond the pale that we the people, who find them ineffective and playing for the wrong team, want them out?
