I tend to avoid some words
because they can be construed as having a different meaning.
Can't is such a word. Not in that I can't use it, but some people are an ignorant form of it.

I had a bad experience as witness in a trial here.
I had been semi-coached by the DA (dead now) and my part was early scenario witness to a family murder down the hill from my house. This was of the mother of the perpetrator, charged by a fingerprint which it turns out was placed by a PI, putting her at the scene as a coverup when the house was partly burnt. She was found guilty by a jury. And served prison time before release and a cash payment for "oops, sorry".
