I stopped it 50 seconds in because it's so chopped up. I guess that's just the intro.
Anyway, $%^* her, after her comments earlier this year. It reminds me that there's been irreparable damage to "the coalition". Lots of people will be right and I'll disregard them because of how they turned into Hillbots.
In this video, one thing I heard in that short time (it's an hour long...50 seconds is about right) was Sarah S. saying to Bernie "I wish you were President". You know what? #$%& you! Talk about ridiculous! Credibility is gone.
...after what is apparently artistic expression. Sorry - once I got into the meat of it, I'd forgotten that the beginning was so hackneyed.

i'm in the midst of an article in Jacobin that discusses where progressives go from here. there has been a lot of discussion on C99 about changing the political dynamics of the Democratic party. this article touches on both themes of changing the system from the outside (third party) or from the inside of the party structure. third parties seem destined to fail given the power structure that sets the rules. inside party maneuvers appear to be just as challenging. i haven't yet finished the article to see how it concludes and answers the question of 'what now' but so far it has been very illuminating, at least to me, maybe not for others such as yourself. i better understand why Sanders ran in the Democratic party instead of being independent in the primary.

There are all kinds of terrific things about Sarah Silverman — but at this time, she is dead to me. I don't see her talents the same way I did before. She will always be a dope in my book.
I watched 15 or 20 minutes in, and I did gain one insight. Silverman is a mental midget. So I had to withdraw my scorn for her being compromised. She was never uncompromised. She has no understanding of real politick in the US. No sense of the human experience in America. She is intellectually lazy and lives in a bubble. But I still hold the rest of them, like Bill Moyers, in contempt. Until such time that they display their complete ignorance about the world they life in.
What gave me that insight was when the discussion turned to the worker class (to Sarah, that means white people) and liberalism (to Sarah that means dressing boho-style and walking in a civil rights tribute march). Sarah is so intellectually handicapped, that she thinks The American workers voted for Trump because they wanted their god-given right to oppress minorities and hate on them in public. She didn't know that the fact that American workers were systematically stripped of their standard of living to make the neoliberals extremely wealthy — would be a problem for them. She thought they should vote for the Queen of the NeoLiberals, anyway, because gays and stuff. Plus women.
She will never attain the cognitive ability to know the monumental betrayal of the people that occurs when you try to force them to choose between two epic pieces of shit for president. Her little lobes have not been trained to process the implications of that.
She's clearly disabled.
As for Bernie, he's such a good guy. Sheesh. I can overlook his flaws, and make no mistake, he does has flaws. In the last few weeks, however, I've lost my patience with Obama apologists. And I've been there, done that. But I know in my heart that Bernie is a politically-savvy Neocon. And that's a bridge too far for me.
against Trump, but I have no interest in watching Sarah Silverman pretend the Democratic primary process was not egregiously corrupted by the establishment.
edit: I ended up watching a good part of it anyway despite Sarah's compliance to corporate Democratic anti-democracy. Bernie will be an important voice in the near future.
of the near future. And beyond. I know many progs won't get on board the Bernie Express "becuz he Sold Out," but wah. If not Bernie, who?!

I got through 10 minutes of it. I used to be a big Sarah fan but I haven't been since her condescension at the convention. And her demeanor here irritates me. She can't get out a question about the working class without reading her notes. Her posture sometimes is away from him like she doesn't believe it, she's being forced to do this but doesn't really want to. Has her fan base diminished considerably since the Dem convention and is this a stiff attempt to mend fences? She seems very insincere to me. But I am coming from a skeptical place about her.
Anyway, Bernie is great, as always. And gracious about her in the beginning, as always. I'm not so willing to let bygones be bygones.

on the stage with Bernie. Not interested in anything Sarah has to say I am done with her and all the rest like her that tried to shove hrc down our throats. I hope they just all go away and take their anointed leader and the Dem party with them.
maybe, enough to hear her "WTF" to Bernie and then I shut her down. I don't really know who she is as I'm not a big movie or comedy watcher, but her remarks during the Primary make me want to say what Sharhyar said so politely above - shove it Sarah.

The current working assumption appears to be that our Shroedinger's Cat system is still alive. But what if we all suspect it's not, and the real problem is we just can't bring ourselves to open the box?
But I thought the conversation was interesting. I'll never trust her.

we're going to have to work with people with whom we have a lot less in common than Sarah Silverman. Jesse Jackson was asked how he was going to get the vote of a white steelworker. He said "by convincing him he has more in common with a black steel worker than a white owner." Notice he did not say the white steel worker had to purge himself of every vestige of racism first. It's the act of struggling together that will reduce racism.
Hillary Clinton and her supporters spent a huge amount of time deciding whose votes they were willing to accept. After all the harm Hillary Clinton has caused the least we can do is profit from her example.

Bernie would have made a great President
The Democrats did a fine hatchet job on him.

He believes that the Democratic Party can be changed
I don't, a whole new Party needs to be created. That is about all I disagree with him on.

Precisely my thoughts:

If anyone can profit from Medusa's example then...
they aren't a Democrat, because Democrats never learn.
