Dallasdoc, I hope you can understand what you mean to guys like me, who imagine they would be as concise and pertinent and effective a writer as you.
You got a TO LOL. I also enjoyed Bob Johnson's spot-on editorial. You may hate OP, but it is relevant. More relevant than any news show, I think. But the specific problems extant there ... yeah..
But it is apparent to me that Markos has gone in two directions, one driven by ego and one constrained by the driving forces of lets say social media economics. The man is captured, no doubt; his book is a sad joke. He is no gate crasher, that is his legacy, hypocrisy like so many others.These pivotal moments define us. Y'know, me alter ego, my gaming alter ego is BlackAhab. Kos is Ahab, I know the traits, Herman Melville detailed them well. You need humility in your approach, or you will err in your hubris.
And so I defend and support this guy dallasdoc to the end. His instincts have always rung true.

Doc wrote an essay
And then cross posted it over to TOP. You can find it in community content from yesterday. It was a rather lasr focused scathing review of the democratic party and of some of its base. Made the top of the rec list and stayed there for hours. Doc also got a time out.

Both his diary in its honesty and the responses in their faux outrage were quite amusing. He was hurt not at all by his little timeout.

had told Doc he and people like him are responsible for Hillary's loss. So they earned every expletive in the book IMO.
There is a large subset of dkos that will never self criticize their own party. It's always someone or thing else to blame. That is the flaw that makes me feel they cannot ever move forward.
Just like Tea Partiers in that respect
and one of the main reasons I'll never go back there, not even to rec a really good diary, they get no click revenue from me.

Elfling or someone put the TO in manually. There's no way it would have kicked in automatically.
It was the best thing that could have happened. I wasn't tempted to spend time pie fighting, and everybody got to see what a thin-skinned bunch of censors run the place.

True, it is sometimes best to go ahead and disengage when one starts to feel heated. Under the old system, I would quit for 24 hours at 2 flags so I never received a TO. Under the new system, I had repeated TO's because I can't see flags! Oh well. More time for here.

That's very kind of you. The BS that happened at TOP was exactly what I expected. The fact that my diary over there was top of the wreck list all Sunday, and stayed there till Monday afternoon, was evidence to the naysayers that they're still not in control of the place. And my TO illustrated perfectly the intolerance and censorship of the management. It couldn't have gone down better if I'd planned it that way.

Awesome you are here as well. I was thinking... mm 1890 Paris. There was a growing pool of intellectual thought, between the great minds I think there can be a renaissance of sorts. A community - this community, even - dedicated to the Platonic ideals, "Truth is Beauty" and "Beauty is Truth".
