We need to do something with the great unwashed ‽ . . .

I have a revolutionary plan: How about we just put them all into something like debtors prisons. Let them rot until they agree to give the 1% all their stuff · · · if they would just stop breathing then life would be so much better for the rest of us · · ·

This development is beyond the pale · · ·

State officials in Michigan asked a federal court in Detroit on Thursday to block a court order requiring bottled water deliveries to homes in Flint, Michigan, where residents are still waiting for clean tap water two years after municipal water supplies were contaminated with dangerous levels of lead.

Now that you mention it I think the "Let them eat lead . . ." captures the essence of what we need to do to make the population docile. With regional EPA officials not paying attention or calling alarm? Why the US has not intervened and fixed the problem by re-piping? We are a poor country who should afford this. Half a billion on Clinton's campaign. Sick. Poor families.

implies the problem is lead pipes:
Lead "pigtails" are more common than you can imagine. I could make money betting on that. Medford, OR officials are scrambling to get ahead of this problem. There is little (actually no) danger here in Kearney, NE. The water here is so very "hard" all the lead mains downtown and the pigtails throughout town have a thick silica shell isolating the water from the lead pipe. Two years ago a leak developed in the copper link to our house. When the city workers unearthed the pipe they discovered my house and the one to the East were served via a single lead pigtail several feet long. Now I have several feet of "pre-bomb" lead pipe for my lab.
