Bernie doesn't get any plumb assignments while still in the Senate? OOOOOOHHHHHHH Poor Bernie. And poor us for believing anything he said. We already KNOW what our problems are. We knew them way before Sanders came along. Senator Better Way didn't tell us shit that we didn't know. We live it. HE DOESN'T.
And now we go back to our regularly scheduled lives, some of us living better lives than others. Some of us, like me, are fucked. The old Judas Goat though, he has a new vacation home. He asked for support, he asked for money. He got more than he ever expected of both. Often times from people who didn't really have it to give. THEY SACRIFICED, WE SACRIFICED. And he has his job and a nice new vacation home. He deserves to be raked over the coals. Everybody had skin in the game but the old Bernster. He made sure he was good no matter which way he took, didn't he?
And don't give me the old "he said he'd support the winner..." crap. We were all disenfranchised. Him and his supporters. That was enough to tear up that agreement. For an honest person it would be. But apparently not for Sanders.

They had already planned to leverage Bernie into rallying progressives to Hillary, and another WikiLeaks email shows that they already had journalists who’d been posing as Bernie supporters queued up ready to flip and draw Berners to Hillary. “I am doing the opposite, repeatedly writing friendly and positive pieces about Bernie as an HRC supporter, and when the time is right I will have money in the bank with him and his people as a liberal to urge them to come out in force to vote for HRC,” fake journalist Brent Budowsky wrote to Podesta in July of last year.

Amanda, and I understand your frustration -- but I don't think Bernie really gave her a pass on the server. He wanted a campaign that focused on the issues, and knew that the server would distract from that. As it has. I can't recall a single issue being discussed during this nightmare of a general election campaign. Sigh.
and talk to me here, remember something about my posting history. Like, for instance, I know you would never listen to Bernie about anything at this point; I know Roger would, and in fact was active in Our Revolution/BNC; I know Henry Wallace and Citizen of Earth are Stein supporters, etc. So I tend to believe that others who are active here keep track of my assumptions/beliefs as well.
Here are my assumptions about what's real:
1)Election fraud was rampant on the Democratic side of the primary. This matters very much. It included straight-up voter purges, as in Brooklyn, "party" purges via hacking people's registration data in AZ, NY, CA, and OR (and possibly more), death threats in Puerto Rican jails, some bullshit hocus-pocus involving coin flips and hidden vote totals in Iowa, and many other forms of fraud. Exit polls show that there was fraud, to the extent that actual statisticians say it was something like a 1 in 6 million chance that Hillary actually won the races she said she won. We could spend an hour talking about all the forms of fraud that took place.
2)This race has been associated, more than any in my lifetime, with a blitzkrieg on the voters. The character attacks on voters have been more or less constant, up to and including being framed for violence and framed as thugs, which is extremely dangerous and generally gets done only for one reason. For those of us who have exposed ourselves to this assault by being online and open about whom we support, the ugliness has been early and often, including, as you pointed out, flooding people's web pages with kiddie porn (which now I'm wondering if that has more than incidental significance, given the stories about the existence of a pedophile ring). Again, we could spend an hour, or more, detailing all the ways voters have been treated like shit, and encouraged to treat each other like shit.
3)Whether Bernie was a ringer from the beginning or bribed or bludgeoned into submission later has no effect on these facts. If you think the Clinton machine couldn't have accomplished all these forms of cheating and abuse without Bernie's help, you don't know the Clinton machine. And for the Clinton machine, it's just as good either way, although I think the added layer of disillusionment and demoralization provided by the sheepdog explanation would be seen as kind of a cherry on the sundae for them, since clearly one aim of their blitzkrieg is to demoralize us into passivity, hopefully permanently. That's not why I'm in disagreement with this idea; I simply think that it's more logical to assume that Bernie was bullied. I don't think she'd waste a bribe on him, and if he were meant as a sheepdog from the get-go, if he were her tool, the media, also her tools, would have treated him far differently. In fact, they would have treated him more like Donald Trump, loudly talking about him, but in a negative way (crazy racist socialist). They'd never try to suffocate his campaign with lack of airtime. They'd want to build him up to maximize his sheepdog potential and to channel the resistance they expect from the left into a harmless channel--just like they're using Trump to do something similar (but not identical) from the right. It's all about storm drains for the propagandists and psy-op folks; they can't obliterate resistance so they want to make sure to channel it in useless directions.
4)It kind of blows me away that you remember so little about me that you could possibly think that I'm advocating for "just shut up and donate and volunteer." For the record, another of my assumptions is that both parties are damaged beyond repair, to put it kindly, and while there are still a few (probably very lonely) individuals of merit in each party, they probably won't be there much longer. Both parties are blatant tools of oppression and, by their very nature, assaults on both democracy (if you think we had one of those) or the republic (if you think we had one of those). No future association with those institutions is warranted; at best, any such attempt at reform is wrongheaded and foolhardy; at worst, it demonstrates a willingness to accept corruption.
5)I think opdeny270 was a sheepdog operation that sadly convinced a lot of decent people to support it. It's also obvious that there's been a mobilization of attacks on Stein that have stepped up in recent days. The aim of these efforts, in my view, is to make sure the Left keeps fighting amongst itself over which weak-ass option it takes, since we haven't had any strong option to take since Sanders got on his knees. And, again for the record, I don't believe it's Stein's fault that she is a weak option; the establishment has created ugly systemic obstacles for any third party, which is why we have 40 third parties that haven't broken through into the mainstream. Among those obstacles are the corrupt media, election fraud/voter purges, and a corrupt legal justice system that winks at the fraud we're undergoing.
6)We should be looking at why "cutting the head off" automatically makes the body die, because taking out our leader shouldn't destroy and fragment the movement so completely. There are steps that could be taken to decrease the impact of the system's completely predictable attacks on the "leader" position, including steps that would diminish the impact of sheepdogging. We should, after so many years, be taking these steps as a matter of course. IMO, it's a point for your side of the argument that Bernie didn't take these steps; but on the other hand, none of us at the grass roots do either, except on rare occasions such as Occupy--and we need to do a lot better.
I can't write anymore because I'm trying to move into a new house, and am literally moving the cats right now.

I think it does matter but I don't believe we will discover the "truth". And I guess it doesn't change the work ahead, except as a reminder to keep the focus on the goals and strategies to get there and not on the messenger. Don't anoint anyone a hero or savior and never follow anyone over a cliff. Our heroes need to be ourselves.
Bernie was in Sacramento today advocating for Calif Proposition 61, a measure to start to limit the cost of prescription drugs in California. Big drug companies like Merck and Pfizer and other opponents of the proposition have spent over $108 million to defeat it.
This is why Bernie still has, and always will have, my support. I don't feel betrayed because he's been out stumping for the Mad Bomber -- to my own ears, it all rings hollow and he certainly hasn't succeeded in sheep-dogging me, or most anyone else.
I did listen to Bernie when he advised us to vote our conscience. I did that today. And I'm very grateful he remains in the Senate, fighting the good fight on our behalf.
should have gone out the window the minute he found out how the DNC cheated.
Did the voting irregularities start in New York or earlier? Then there were all the people who were going to vote for him that were kicked off the voting rolls or had their party affiliation changed.
And the Nevada caucus was blatantly obvious and did he or anyone in his campaign say anything about any of this?
Or Bill going to four Michigan voting places and interfering with the election?
This reminds me of when Obama said that he would rather try hard to get good legislation passed and be a one term president than one who didn't try and be a mediocre two term president.
Guess which one you are Barry?
Letting those mean republicans not let you do anything you wanted to do.

And to think we're just a few short hours away from having his slimy ass headed back to the White House. I used to look at the WH with reverence. But the past few inhabitants have turned it into nothing more than flop house for the morally bankrupt...
Some in the press were on to the voter suppression and electoral fraud right from the very start. And the DMR actually endorsed Clinton, only to say right after the caucus that they didn't believe the correct winner was called.
What happened Monday night at the Democratic caucuses was a debacle, period. Democracy, particularly at the local party level, can be slow, messy and obscure. But the refusal to undergo scrutiny or allow for an appeal reeks of autocracy.
The Iowa Democratic Party must act quickly to assure the accuracy of the caucus results, beyond a shadow of a doubt...
First of all, the results were too close not to do a complete audit of results. Two-tenths of 1 percent separated Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton. A caucus should not be confused with an election, but it’s worth noting that much larger margins trigger automatic recounts in other states.
Iowa's nightmare revisited: Was correct winner called?
Second, too many questions have been raised. Too many accounts have arisen of inconsistent counts, untrained and overwhelmed volunteers, confused voters, cramped precinct locations, a lack of voter registration forms and other problems. Too many of us, including members of the Register editorial board who were observing caucuses, saw opportunities for error amid Monday night’s chaos.
The Sanders campaign is rechecking results on its own, going precinct by precinct, and is already finding inconsistencies, said Rania Batrice, a Sanders spokeswoman. The campaign seeks the math sheets or other paperwork that precinct chairs filled out and were supposed to return to the state party. They want to compare those documents to the results entered into a Microsoft app and sent to the party.
“Let’s compare notes. Let’s see if they match,” Batrice said Wednesday.
Dr. Andy McGuire, chairwoman of the Iowa Democratic Party, dug in her heels and said no. She said the three campaigns had representatives in a room in the hours after the caucuses and went over the discrepancies.
McGuire knows what’s at stake. Her actions only confirm the suspicions, wild as they might be, of Sanders supporters. Their candidate, after all, is opposed by the party establishment — and wasn’t even a Democrat a few months ago.
Imagine how much things would have been different if Bernie won flat out and by a decent margin, which seems plausible. Would have been a shock heard around the political world. Then onto to NH where he absolutely crushed her. The whole dynamic would have changed.
Having her edge him out out, by a measly .2%, was just enough to save face for her pathetic Emperor's New Clothes campaign.

It will start with Hillary "trying" to get a lot of the DNC platform that was worked on with Bernie, passed. And then because of those darn Republicans, she'll have to end up conceding a huge giveaway to various oligarchic interests in exchange for a few ex-students having a tiny bit less debt, while other ex-students suddenly start accumulating more debt. Same idea with health care and fracking etc. At least she won't be able to blame the Republicans for her foreign policy.

I received this email from a friend yesterday:
This is why Bernie still has, and always will have, my support. I don't feel betrayed because he's been out stumping for the Mad Bomber -- to my own ears, it all rings hollow and he certainly hasn't succeeded in sheep-dogging me, or most anyone else.
I did listen to Bernie when he advised us to vote our conscience. I did that today. And I'm very grateful he remains in the Senate, fighting the good fight on our behalf.

His promise to endorse the winner
should have gone out the window the minute he found out how the DNC cheated.

Des Moines Register called the 1st Dem Primary a "debacle."
Some in the press were on to the voter suppression and electoral fraud right from the very start. And the DMR actually endorsed Clinton, only to say right after the caucus that they didn't believe the correct winner was called.

Imagine how much things would have been different if Bernie won flat out and by a decent margin, which seems plausible. Would have been a shock heard around the political world. Then onto to NH where he absolutely crushed her. The whole dynamic would have changed.
Having her edge him out out, by a measly .2%, was just enough to save face for her pathetic Emperor's New Clothes campaign.

not sure how true but here's the Newsweek take. Dewey only wishes.
Newsweek Calls It: "Madam President Clinton" Hits The Shelves Due To A "Business Decision"
While for editorial purposes Newsweek "covered" its downside by preparing a "President Trump" edition, when it comes to its "business decisions" Newsweek has, as the "conspiracy fringe" accuses, already called the election.

I have this political fantasy.
In my blue state enough Sander supporters vote Stein giving the state to Trump. All parts of the flunky mass media converge on the state to interview Stein voters to shame them. Those fuckers catch me in a man/woman-interview-in-the-street.
MediaAsshole: Did you vote for Jill Stein?
Me: Hell yes I did.
MediaAsshole: Okay tell us the horrid reason you helped deny Hillary her appointed date in the White House, you filthy left wing scumbag.
Me: Let me say this to Hillary Clinton directly. I don't vote for republicans. Either one of you.

Vowing To Oppose Everything Trump Attempts.
I think we're going to get a snow job of epic proportions
It will start with Hillary "trying" to get a lot of the DNC platform that was worked on with Bernie, passed. And then because of those darn Republicans, she'll have to end up conceding a huge giveaway to various oligarchic interests in exchange for a few ex-students having a tiny bit less debt, while other ex-students suddenly start accumulating more debt. Same idea with health care and fracking etc. At least she won't be able to blame the Republicans for her foreign policy.
