(The crazy - it burns) GOP Rep. Jason Chaffetz Reported To FBI For Using Potential Illegal Private Email Server

***

From politicsusa.com website:

The Democratic Coalition Against Trump explained in a statement why they reported Rep. Chaffetz to the FBI:

The Democratic Coalition Against Trump reported Representative Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) to the FBI on Wednesday morning for possibly breaking Executive Order 13526 and 18 U.S.C. Sec. 793(f) of the federal code, which makes it unlawful to send or store classified information on a personal email. As was recently resurfaced by the Democratic Coalition’s #TrumpLeaks program, Rep. Chaffetz lists his personal Gmail address on business cards brandished with the Congressional seal. Rep. Chaffetz sits on the Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, Homeland Security, and Investigations, which has jurisdiction over “internal and homeland security,” among other things.

“The mishandling of classified information that concerns the national security of our nation is something that the FBI takes very seriously,” said Scott Dworkin, Senior Advisor to the Democratic Coalition. “The irony is unparalleled- Representative Chaffetz, the person who led the charge against Secretary Clinton’s personal email server use, could actually be the one who is breaking the law and putting our national security at risk in the process.”

It is going to be very difficult for Rep. Chaffetz to investigate Hillary Clinton if he also was using a private email server. The Democratic Coalition Against Trump raises a great point. Why is Hillary Clinton the only person under investigation?

Soooo, this guy is an absolute idiot if this is true. The Shillbots are using this guy as an excuse. Fucking stupid Republicans. We'll have to see where this goes. This guy is dumber that Louis Gohmert if this is true.

If it were up to me, I'd just put a up a wall with turrets full of armed guards, a moat full of piranha, and a minefield around Washington D.C. area. Let the citizens out and seal the place up like a tomb. What's coming out of there is not only killing our country but will probably end up destroying the planet.

Chaffetz is just some rank-and-file committee member.

Not even one of Congress’s intelligence oversight “Gang of Eight.”

Did he even have access to confidential info?

A last-minute distraction for those gullible enough to still believe $$Hill is the victim.

Making his gmail account available on his business cards is hardly a violation of law.

The polls look scary for the Dumbocrats, and they're going to throw every bit of shit at the wall that they can in the next several days in an effort to save $$Hillary.

Dog help us all.

That's what this sounds like to me. Finger pointing of the elementary school kind.
He dipped my braids in the ink well!
She kicked me in the shin when I pulled her braid!
He did it first!
She did it first!
What a bunch of babies. I'm with you, Amanda:

We'd all be better off.

if Her goes down too, although I highly doubt he got classified intel from people he passed his business card to.

The hypocrisy in accusing him of what she has demonstrably done is hilarious. Don't they realize that she'll never have a shred of legitimacy or credibility? The content of the e-mails, and the corruption that they outline will follow her for life. Years from now we'll still be dissecting them and we'll still be awed by the level of audacious malfeasance that they describe.

Any victory for Her will be hollow, she'd be better off stepping aside now.

The difference being that Chaffetz could not wipe it 'like with a cloth' even if he wanted to...

gmail can be subpoenaed for FOIA requests. Clinton kept hers on a private server that she could control. It's different, though Chavetz is still a class A idiot.

Sent classified material from his Gmail account, or if someone sent classified material to that address (at which point they would be breaking the law) and he failed to notify the proper authorities.

Of course, he really should be using his house.gov addresses on his congressional business cards. Foia.

Thanks for the heads-up. The link itself blurs the line in what amounts to outright lying by whoever's byline that is at "politicsusa". Which tends to make me think of it as more of a trial balloon than as a "news" item.

Guess they're scraping bottom, trying to see if there's somebody--anybody--out there who still doesn't know the difference between an email service and an email server. I have a feeling that's a fool's errand, at this point....

This story is a tad dated, from March 2015.

Rep. Chaffetz is my so-called "representative," I'm ashamed to say. He is an embarrassment to Utah. OTOH he's exactly the guy that Democrats would probably want investigating Hillary, assuming that the Tea-GOP still controls the House next year. He's that incompetent.

Chaffetz is already threatening years of investigations into the Hillary administration. If the results match the years of investigating President Obama, she has nothing to worry about.
