Evan McMullin

Never heard of this guy until today. Apparently he is on the ballot in 11 states, Jill Stein is on the ballot in 44 states, but numerous news stories are talking about McMullin and never even mentioning Stein.

538 lists him by name, but has Jill Stein listed as "other" http://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2016-election-forecast/?ex_cid=rrpromo even though he gives "other" a better chance than McMullin. Wikipedia says he is a former CIA agent.

To me this is further evidence that the election is fixed.

right, who seem to like him better than Johnson even though Johnson is on more ballots.

I don't think they're leaving Jill off because she's Jill, but because they're predicting she'll have less than 1% of the vote. Remember they're not polling millennials. They have no idea who's going to vote how if they're under 40.

But given that the latest polls in the last few days show T & C neck and neck, what I find really astonishing is 538's prediction that it's 67% likely Hill will win.

There are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns – the ones we don't know we don't know.

I imagine the stories reflect a hope that he'll split the conservative vote further.

'What we are left with is an agency mandated to ensure transparency and disclosure that is actually working to keep the public in the dark' - Ann M. Ravel, former FEC member

That way neither Trump nor Clinton could get 270 votes. the House will pick one of them (probably Clinton) but neither could claim a "mandate".

I've seen lots of changes. What doesn't change is people. Same old hairless apes.

You think the bat-shit-crazy Republican U.S. House would select Clinton? I think, if Trump had fewer votes than Clinton, and far fewer Electoral College votes, the Republicans would still be unanimous in choosing Trump.

But consistency is not their strong suit, it's true.

Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.

Stands a decent chance of winning Utah, maybe even Idaho. He stands the best chance at this point of throwing the choice of president to the House. Fingers crossed that he pulls it off.

Bernie Was Asked About ‘The Write-In Thing’ And His Response Might Surprise You

Vermont was already told, “I think it will be fine,” by Sanders. So, we know how he feels about that state already. Of course, voters had been saying they’d write him in in Vermont immediately after the convention, and they still are. Few Berners in Vermont ever faltered from their devotion to their senator. A phone banking organizer reported on Facebook Thursday that of the 21,649 calls placed to Vermonters so far, 47.8 percent of responders say they will write Bernie in on their ballots. That’s more than twice the pledged votes of any other candidate.

Might not be enough for Bernie to be in the top 3 if McMullin wins UT, but it would still take away 3 electoral votes from Clinton if he were to win Vermont.

A bit off topic, but there are 10 states where a candidate does not have to pre-register in order for write in votes for that candidate to be counted. They are Alabama, Iowa, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington, and Wyoming.

California is not one of those states. But according to an article in The Inquisitr, Bernie has electors in California, so if you vote for Bernie in California, your vote would count.

Over 18 Million People In California Could Write-In Bernie Sanders In California, Almost No Media Reporting It

So how is it that Bernie qualifies as a write-in candidate in California? Did he pre-register, and if so, why?

I'm voting for Stein. I understand that it is highly improbable that she will win the Presidency, but I think there is a good chance of winning against that 5% threshold. Johnson will likely beat the 5% threshold as well.

The way I see it, we're going to eat a shit sandwich in this election no matter what. So if Bernie and McMullin can cause some chaos (and reduce the legitimacy of Clinton or Trump) or even pull of the upset of the millennium, then may the gods favor them.

Well, the media blackout on Jill is more likely so that they can ensure she does not make the 5% or higher needed to break the endless BS cycle where only the two wing party wins either way. Jill and her platform make the Plutocrats and others who run the Oligarchy nervous as it flies in the face of what they hold "sacred" and close to their blackened, twisted, icy hearts.

So long, and thanks for all the fish

Well, Jill's doing much better than they'd like, so I suspect that she'll be presented as having fewer votes than she gets - and would it surprise anyone if many of her votes somehow wound up in the 'Clinton' column? Hopefully provably, if so.

Psychopathy is not a political position, whether labeled 'conservatism', 'centrism' or 'left'.

A tin labeled 'coffee' may be a can of worms or pathology identified by a lack of empathy/willingness to harm others to achieve personal desires.

Not that there's anything I could do about it, but if my vote for Stein doesn't show up, at least I'll know.

If enough people do that - as will likely everyone around for the Dem nomination who was voting for Bernie/following the various issues - cheating can be proven.
