A Deputy Sgt. and a Deputy were responding to a burglary call. The Sgt. was shot in the face and died at the hospital.

Aerial video just after 2 p.m. showed a man coming out of the back door of a home and lying down on the pavement in the backyard, next to a pool. Apparently in response to deputies' commands, he walked to the side of the home and taken into custody at the front of the home's garage without incident, Sky5 video showed.

Since the suspect lives, I am guessing he's white.

No shots fired!

The suspected shooter exited the back of the home while the team got the teens out of the house. The suspect was then taken into custody by Lancaster Station deputies.

Of course the whole community mourns:

"The tragedy of a deputy sheriff such as Sergeant Steve Owen making the ultimate sacrifice has a massive impact on the whole law enforcement family. We all mourn together and our hearts go out especially to Steve's immediate family," McDonnell said.

Just like the whole community mourns when a Deputy guns down a suspect or beats a prisoner to death with his bare knuckles.

Has it gotten to the point where burglars, who are usually not-violent sneaks who prefer to commit their crimes undisturbed, are responding to cops pulling guns, by defending themselves by shooting back? Not to be facetious, these fat cops could trip with their trigger on the finger and shoot themselves in the face.

The Deputy decided to shoot the already handcuffed suspect, as seems to have become traditional, missed and shot his buddy in the face instead?
