Comey Says He's Not a Weasel EDIT & Will Not Comment about Perjury Referral
I've moved the whole earlier Magillah downward. This is important:
From The HIll
FBI silent on pending Clinton perjury probe
FBI Director James Comey on Wednesday refused to provide the House Judiciary Committee with any clue about whether the bureau will comply with a request to investigate Hillary Clinton for perjury.
“You cannot tell us whether you are indeed investigating?” Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) asked during a hearing on FBI oversight.
Comey said he would not comment on a pending referral.
“When do you expect you will be able to tell us?” Goodlatte asked.“I don’t know,” Comey said.
* * *
Me thinks he doth protest a bit too much... and I wish I had some graphics skills because the FBI clearly needs a new weasel logo today.
From POLITICO
Really, the whole story is in the title:
Comey on Clinton email probe: 'Don't call us weasels'
FBI Director James Comey is passionately defending the integrity of the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email setup, arguing that critics are unfair to suggest that agents were biased or succumbed to political pressure.
“You can call us wrong, but don’t call us weasels. We are not weasels,” Comey declared Wednesday at a House Judiciary Committee hearing. “We are honest people and … whether or not you agree with the result, this was done the way you want it to be done.”
In other news, he also used the word 'megillah,' which if memory serves, was the name of a cartoon gorilla from my childhood. Why, yes! It was from Hanna Barbera, and I was very small when they were on the air. You can watch one here. I guarantee it will be just as edifying as Comey was today. I take that back - Magillah Gorilla is likely MORE edifying than Director Comey.
Comey was asked today if he would re-open the investigation into, well, the whole magilla, if new an substantial information was uncovered. He said he could not answer in the abstract:
Pardon me for saying so, but Director Comey REALLY sounds like a weasel in this hearing.
Comey talks about Combetta in this video, and Comey confirms that Stonetear is the Reddit guy.
Worth watching Chaffetz discussion of how Cheryl Mills claim that she did not know about the server until AFTER Clinton's tenure is contradicted by some of her email.

Stop-n-Frisk, too.
Comey said that when used correctly, Stop-n-Frisk is a valuable policing technique. I guess he didn't get the memo from the Clinton Factcheckers, who roundly criticized Trump for supporting Stop-n-Frisk.
The Clinton's are the only
The Clinton's are the only ones to use Stop-n-Frisk correctly, where any cash and valuables found on victims are used as they feel best. Trump doing this fails to benefit them and is therefore wrong. Although I expect that he feels the same, in reverse.

The Republicans got their licks in, but where do they go from
here? They can make political hay about the fix being in and cover-ups basically forever and they can push their perjury referral, which seems, prima facie, to be a slam dunk. But aside from that, Hillary and her minions got away with the email/private server caper. That's the long and short of it.
IMO, the Dems made a huge tactical error in this entire affair. By coming down on Hillary's side they look like they don't care about National Security or even the simple rules most people labor under every day in the corporate world (don't mix work with private) which makes them seem elitist, out of touch and privileged. Despite their and the media's protestations that "Americans don't care about the emails" - America does care about the emails and many of them can quote chapter and verse of what laws they think she's violated. Calling it a "nothing burger" insulted their intelligence and promoted a "we know better than you what to be concerned about." attitude, which feeds into the very worst already established memes about Democrats
There's no overstating how badly the Dems blew this entire thing. And now a lot of the hoi polloi thinks that not only is Hillary a secretive conniver-perjuror, they carry those feelings over to the Party, and the State Department, and the President and the FBI and the DOJ and the DNC and the apologist media. Quite a haul. She's been a one woman juggernaut of destroying the Democratic Party and everything associated with the Obama administration

1. The Users: the Party elites, in-group, superdelegates, DNC, corporate sponsors, etc.
The Used: Split into 2 groups
2a. The knowingly used who want to climb up the Democrat corporate ladder
2b. The unknowingly used - the rubes, the true-believers, the naifs, the dreamers, the hopers

Whether they initially intended to or not, the scum within that Dem party have decided they don't need me; they can win with a coalition of people that doesn't include working white people. And then they spat on me and called me a racist while pushing me out the door. After slamming it behind me, they shouted 'thanks for nothing !!!'.
I'm done with the Dem party, period.
Same here--I will NEVER vote for a Dem, ever again
They blew it, all right. Not that withholding my one little vote means much, but it's all I have. Fuck them, I'm done with them, at minimum they're crooks.
I see this whole thing from the Obama angle now: if Barack Obama went to all that trouble to disguise his identity in email when he wrote to Clinton at that "secret server" address--if that's actually true--then he had to have lied under oath when he said he didn't know anything about the server until the whole world found out. Seems to me that would give the GOP enough to impeach Obama over. And that, in turn, would bring the whole email server thing crashing down around the Clintons.
The GOP can fix this shit right now. I'm not going to argue whether or not they should do it--I'm saying the GOP had better do it regardless of any potential outcome, and do it while the man is still POTUS. Because that is what they've really wanted to do since Day One--impeach him and bring down his presidency.
Well? Here's their chance. What are they waiting for? They won't do it because "the Senate won't convict"?? Bull fucking shit--they won't do it because they're not really opposition at all.

They need to either put the fuck up or shut the fuck up. They've got Obama right where they need him to be--caught lying. When does the impeachment start?
I don't mean to be an idiot
but it IS possible he did not know (while that is untrue for Mills for sure). I have read that when Hillary's emails transmitted that in the From line, it showed up as just H. I don't know if that was only within the State Dept or everywhere. They really were (or tried to be) quite crafty. If Obama did not initiate -i.e. only responded to an email from Hillary- it may be possible that he was unable to see her address in that transaction.
Or I'm an idiot. I'm guessing chances are 50/50 on those two choices.
'What we are left with is an agency mandated to ensure transparency and disclosure that is actually working to keep the public in the dark' - Ann M. Ravel, former FEC member
I've thought about that a lot
because it's a reasonable consideration. On reflection, if it were one or two emails, that might be one thing to suppose that maybe he never noticed. But if I've read correctly, there were quite a few more than one or two emails. In addition, I don't know that it's so much about "did he see the email address" as "do all the bigshots, including the office of the President, use psuedonyms in their secure email setup?" Because if they do, then it wouldn't be unusual for him to do it. But if others don't do that as a general rule, then he was hiding himself for some reason.
What other reasons would he need to disguise his identity in internal email among other bigshots? Or if it was just between the two of them (or maybe one or two others besides)?
Was the first one pseudonym discovered at HUD?
I don't recall the detail b/c it seemed unrelated to me - but somehow it came to light that one of the agency heads was using one (a woman using a male name in the email address), and THAT was why CREW, I believe, did a FOIA asking if Clinton used a pseudonym at State (and hence a non-State.gov email address) - it was a fishing expedition since it was done elsewhere in the administration.
CREW dropped this line of investigation once Brock was put on the board, but JW picked it up, if I've understood correctly.

Ons slight quibble with what you posted. Barack Obama had had
more than a bit part in destroying the Democratic Party. He was really good at calmly looking the citizens of this country and lying his ass off, even when we KNEW BETTER.
He helped kill the Party. His bullshit supporting the Clinton creature, who will go down as a liar and a cheat, won't help his 'legacy' one damn bit. It's just two peas in a pod.

Emails are not a political issue
"Emails" are the potent political reality. Republicans have successfully made the word a symbol of Clinton's duplicity and shadiness, since there is so much truth of those real characteristics of Hillary's illustrated by the story. The details are unimportant, since most people quickly lose interest in them -- aside from MsGrin and a few stalwarts around here. The political value is in the symbol "emails" has become. Its value is illustrated by the polling showing that Hillary is regarded as approximately as honest and trustworthy as an extravagant pathological liar with a laughable hairdo.
If only Bernie had done a more thorough job turning "Goldman Sachs" into as potent a symbol of Hillary's greed and corruption. If he had, we might be having a very different election season.
Please help support caucus99percent!
Honestly?
Mind you, I completely agree with this, a thousand percent:
Because of that, they're getting so desperate to push Clinton harder that they're doing ad buys on Facebook from places like the AFL-CIO, noting what a liar Trump is because he won't release his tax returns. (Swear to the FSM--I saw the same post, posted by several different orgs--same verbiage and everything). They're still trying to make The Donald's tax returns a Big Thing, when Her Heinous won't release her medical records. Sorry, but A Doctor's Note that says "She's Okay to Govern Now" doesn't count, people! Voters know she's full of shit, and so many people know it by now that TPTB are going to have a lot of trouble fixing the vote totals believably--hence the desperation. It is not even as close as they're all trying to make it out to be. And they know it. And they suspect a lot of other people do as well. The panic is going to become palpable before long.
But this? We don't want to fall into this and turn it into Conventional Wisdom, blaming Sanders:
Even if he had, who was going to help report it? The same "MSM" that shot him down in every other possible way? Even if they hadn't, wouldn't the fix have still been in on the part of the DNC? TPTB wouldn't have let Bernie turn "Goldman Sachs" into anything approaching the attention-maker it deserves to be. Why bother trying to lay any of it on him at this point?
I think Bernie pulled a lot of punches against Hillary
He brought things up and introduced subjects into public debate, but if he were really trying to win he would have hammered Hillary on the Wall Street speeches, on Libya and Syria, and on the Clinton Foundation. When he did a little of that in the debates, he reached his highest levels of support.
I love the campaign Bernie ran, but I also believe that if he went all out to win, he would have been less of a gentleman and more ruthless with Clinton. He might well have won. Even the MSM had to pick up his criticisms when he pressed them. Nothing like changing poll numbers to get their attention.

Special prosecutor? Ken Star maybe? He might be looking for work. He could investigate the Clintons' crime and the role of Comey, Lynch and Obama in the cover up.

Now people finally have some idea of the totality of (Edit: contemptuously blatant) corruption throughout their public service systems which they're up against - this is A Good Thing. Can't fight what you don't even know about, although it's always disconcerting when pathological people stand up to lie and keep lying to groups of people they know darned well (or should know, at any rate,) already know they're lying. We just can't keep thinking that repeated denials of the obvious is sane, acceptable or a reasonable excuse about which nothing can be done, where our public officials/polluting industry, etc. - in other words, real-world essentials such as science/truth/justice, our democracies, health, economies, ecologies, lives - are concerned

My response on FB (outing my name for here and all)
There lies the problem. We can be diced and sliced by what become small issues, there has not before Bernie a recent politician who would say 'the 1% run this show'. That is the first agreement of the 99%. Then it gets difficult and needs to be refined. Keep the majority of us together and work on more common problems. I just realized that is the way in! Common problems! Ask, in a group the problems. Don't begin with addressing issues until our basic creed is defined by us!

This may not be new at all, but has the "problem"
ever been addressed by common complaints first? I would guess in the wrong group the majority complaint may be abortion, but over larger random groups that should fall away.
Still at home, scratching in the dirt here, hoping for precipitation tonight and tomorrow.

I'll probably be sorry I asked that question! I don't know anything about that site, but at this point, I have little reason to doubt it. All of these people are in bed together. There have been quotes posted on here, said to be of insiders stating that the whole government would crash if the facts got out. The whole government needs to crash and be rebuilt as an instrument of democracy, something that would be considerably less painful and fatal to far fewer than a global hostile corporate coup destroying the very concept of democracy in order to destroy all life on the planet so that a relative few can ultimately squat in life-support systems scattered among the wreckage and tell themselves that it's theirs, all theirs...

The Hamster Dance's certainly
The Hamster Dance's certainly a far more pertinent answer than any Comey has yet supplied to the public/investigation. Although, while the Clinton's may lead the public a pretty dance following their slug-trails of corruption, the Clinton rain-making involved in this mess somehow seems to benefit only those who don't need it at the expense of those who do. The hamsters are far more liberal in their 'trickle-down' pour-down than anyone associated with the Clintons. And in this video, the hamsters bring refreshing rain to those thirsting, which doesn't appear to be yellow or smell funny...

Note how Comey claims the agents are being accused
Which is a strawman, and a Clintonesque parsing that verges on a non-denial denial. In fact it is Comey and Lynch, the leadership that is accused of corruption/ Weaseldom/ political motivation, not the agents. Typical Clinton gang use of human shields.

George W. Bush
Addendum..
Some suggest yelling a hearty "F%^& Off!!" at them before invoking your 5th amendment rights. They claim that it speeds up the offer of immunity. Once they give you immunity you are advised to tell them, "I don't know jack shit!". At that point they'll walk away and leave you alone.
