Lamar Smith DEMANDS interview with PRN techs by Friday noon
From The Hill
GOP chairman demands interview with Clinton IT aides after Reddit posts
Having been ignored previously, in a letter (pdf) dated 9/19/16 to attorney Kenneth Eichner who represents Platte River Networks (and may be paid by one of the Clinton organizations), Lamar Smith makes clear he's done with being stonewalled about scheduling and indicates Paul Combetta and Bill Thornton
will be interviewed before the Science, Space and Technology committee by week end.
“This raises significant concerns that materials directly related to the Committee’s investigation and responsive to its outstanding requests are being actively destroyed in an attempt to conceal relevant information from coming to light,” Smith writes. Smith threatened to issue a subpoena if the interviews with Combetta and Thornton are not scheduled by noon on Friday.
The letter indicates specifically that it was Combetta who used BleachBit. The letter also quotes the information we all read yesterday (link and link) from Reddit about Combetta's requests
“If true, these details raise new questions as to whether Platte River Networks purposefully defied legal document retention requirements. Further, it is unclear if the Federal Bureau of Investigation was aware of these facts at the time of their investigation,” Smith wrote in a letter sent Wednesday. “Additionally, I am concerned that Mr. Combetta may have made an attempt to delete relevant posts, including the post mentioned above, from his Reddit.com username just hours after reports initially surfaced on September 19, 2016, about his request for assistance on deleting email addresses from archived emails,” Smith wrote.
Destruction of documents continues to be a theme:
“This raises significant concerns that materials directly related to the Committee’s investigation and responsive to its outstanding requests are being actively destroyed in an attempt to conceal relevant information from coming to light,” Smith writes.

I'm pretty sure this is just a RW
conspiracy against her heinous and her minions. She needs to go to Congress and tell them to "cut it out!" in no uncertain terms. I don't know who these people think they are. Aren't they aware her heinous is trying to get into the WH so she can systematically destroy anything to do with FOIA in the future? We, the people, certainly do not have a right to know anything that goes on pertaining to taxpayer expense. Just pay your taxes and STFU, already!

You should be writing reviews of Stronger Together on Amazon too
Thanks, Caerus, although
I hope you are not mocking me. I'm all about her heinous and the uphill battle she faces thanks to people that post on this site and are sexist, misogynist fools. I need to be the voice of reason, here. No one is listening to how desperate she is! Hold it - reverse that: Everyone is listening to how desperate she is!

Splendid comments, RA
if you haven't yet read the Amazon reviews of Stronger Together, you are in for a treat.

Just kidding around with you, Caerus!
I know you don't mock me - we're buds and know each other's sense of humor.
Now I'm curious - I'm going to go over to Amazon and read those reviews!

And yes, the WashPost review is hysterically funny!
Her Heinious is in deep doo-doo!
The WaPo review of Stronger Together said it was a disaster
Have been meaning to do an essay comparing the two reviews, her book and the also of My Turn (Her Turn?).

That's a tough gig these days.
Too many of those reviews are pure gold. But I'm sure Raggedy Ann could make a worthy contribution.

i think we need to discuss the meaning of "documents".

PRN employees have an FBI Immunity deal -- correct?
If true, what's to stop them from invoking the 5th at this hearing.
Weird that FBI gave them the Immunity deal. They didn't cough up anything for an indictment. Comey says "nothing to see here.". So why did they take pressure off of PRN? Good way to cover it all up it?

Combetta has an FBI deal, we don't know about Thornton
I keep wondering if the FBI is going against Mills and Kendall for instructing PRN to destroy stuff which had no business being destroyed, hence deal with Combetta (and maybe Thornton).
I believe that they can refuse to answer questions using the 5th, but Smith DOES have the right to harass them and make them show up even if they don't plan to say anything. I believe Congress Critters have the right to detain them if they refuse to play along. I don't know what other powers they have to negotiate.

Amazing, huh? Criminals being held in contempt of a
contemptable Congress. Oh, the irony! nThose poor PRN slobs are wither gonna do time in jail if they don't show. And if they don't take the 5th---well the Clinton Mafia will take care of that.
After reading the Thompson timeline article posted below
I highly doubt that the FBI is going after anyone for anything. This was strictly a dog and pony show done for the public's benefit. If the FBI and the DOJ gave Clinton a pass, like they did to the banksters. People can froth and moan, but in the end there is nothing to be done about it. There is a Rule of Law for the little people and that's it. Societies often collapse when their populations perceive them as unjust.
On a positive note, it's amazing how willing the public was to get well into the weeds about document retention laws, FOIA, rules for storing classified documents and access to same, email protocols and security, hacking, and a host of other topics that came up in the Affair of The Secretary's Server. At least many were fully cognizant of when they were being bullsh*tted by formerly admired pols and/or "journalists". The numbers of people who sacrificed their long term credibility at the Clinton altar is unbelievable and includes almost the entirety of the Democratic Party and many formerly reputable newspapers, magazines and newsites who weren't willing or able to keep up with the public doing their own reading and research.

True on the positive spin!
There are many people much more edumacated about the minutiae of record-keeping and the lax standards applied to um, some going for high elected office. Other than the serious side, this is quite cynically funny. Know Your Government.

Here's a relevant twitter post on the compromised immunity.

immunity and the Fifth Amendment
If you have immunity in a specific case, you can't take the Fifth in that case because the government has agreed not to prosecute you (therefore your answers to questions won't "tend to incriminate" you).
However, the immunity agreement with the PRN employees may not include testimony before this committee.
Emmet
Then the committee can issue Congressional witness immunity
which indemnifies the witness against prosecution from anything that comes out in their testimony in the hearing, at least that's how I understand it.
If Smith doesn't have an Alternate Plan B like the one above, then the predictable results will be that they appear and they take the Fifth. Although, Chaffetz on Oversight Committee specifically asked that they be provided with the immunity agreements from the FBI and I think the witnesses themselves so they could see what kind of immunity they have.
I posted in another comment that Democrats did this to Monica Goodling in the US Attorneys dust-up, so it would be hard for Dems to argue against this procedure.

I saw it; good point.
I'd love to see how the immunity agreement is worded.

Thorough and damning.
Thanks for the link.
I'm going to add 'and creepy'
Not sure WHY I expected the FBI to do truth-telling, I kinda thought they'd moved on from the Hoover deception years.

This link is MUST reading
The time line lays out a case for prosecutions or at the very least, further investigation by the FBI. And it is based only upon what is public knowledge. I suspect the FBI knows a hell of a lot more. This is a corrupt coverup of a very corrupt politician by the highest levels of government.

And by higher powers wrongly running - TPTB seeking global ownership, who do not want further information about this traitorous plot to be located on Hillary's emails. That's got to be what we were told would bring the government down if the emails came out - as it should and must - and also break the corporate dominance over government.

The Thompson smoking-tune timeline explains lots
It explains that the FBI records of interviews of everybody but Clinton have been made public--these must be the "302s" Chaffetz demanded to see. Without that FBI interview material, I couldn't understand why nailing Combetta was such a big deal. As it now appears, there is a direct connection between Combetta, Mills, and Kendall. When Mills was questioned by JW, most of her testimony related to HRC's time at State. According to the FBI, she and likely Kendall were lip to their eyeballs in the obstruction of justice, violations of Federal Records Act. However, even with this enlightened smoking gun time line Medusa still has plausible deniability--in other words, Cheryl, Kendall, and maybe Huma will fall on their swords. I don't think Combetta's "suicide" will be by sword--more likely two self-inflicted gunshots to the back of head with two different guns.
