On the beach Not all that Glitters . . .
Whaler Island . . .
A compelling view from my table at the Chart Room Restaurant. Home of the best Salmon BLT I have ever eaten. Well to be honest, I did not touch the BLT, the Salmon was so very awesome. The cook deserves the Nobel Prize, I suppose a tip will have to suffice.
Returning with the catch of the day.
Battery Point Light ready to guide your way.
Looking South from Anchor Way.
We see Sister Rocks. Focus . . . focus please, Okay‽
On the beach Not all that Glitters . . .
Rip, he ain't no birder! So, is this a Whimbre or not?
Whaler Island . . .
shields a Vortex !

Battery Point Light at low tide is accessible if you dare:

Gorgeous, PriceRip
You've made me both homesick and hungry!!
Mission Accomplished!
Whimbel it is (probably)
A look at e-bird distribution charts for Crescent City locations shows Long Billed Curlews to be pretty scarce, or at least rarely reported, and whimbrels much more common or more commonly reported during August (and in general, for that matter).

Thanks for the Corroboration.
We were there on Friday!
To beat the heat inland. Can you believe 105 degrees? Horrible! But the coast? Perfect.
Y'all left an impression‽
Several shopkeepers told me about the number of visitors escaping the inland heatwave. I prefer Medford OR over Kearney NE, high temps but not so high humidity. I love the coast, it reenergizes.
Beautiful pictures. REC'D!! :-)
