(Well I'll be darned!) Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein to appear on Nebraska ballot

Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein to appear on Nebraska ballot

LINCOLN — Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein will appear on the Nov. 8 ballot in Nebraska.

Secretary of State John Gale announced Friday that her supporters had submitted 5,388 valid signatures to add her name to the ballot. She needed 2,500 signatures to qualify.

Although Stein is the nominee of the Green Party, she will be identified on the Nebraska ballot with the words “by petition” next to her name.

Stein joins Democrat Hillary Clinton, Republican Donald Trump and Libertarian Gary Johnson on the ballot.

Nebraska went for Sanders in its caucus. We also had a primary and Shills won that, but Sanders supporters just stayed home because it was just a formality to stay in line with a state law. The two Democratic votes were awarded to Sanders in the caucus on March 5th, 57% to 43%.

Nebraska isn't necessarily a Clinton loving state.

I'm hoping to hear soon about Alabama; Thursday was the deadline & I know that they think they have enough signatures.

And here's the updated map; it's starting to look good. 30 states & counting.

Beyond the 30 definite states, if you include the formally petitioned states (only GA was rejected so far, and the state is being sued) Jill is likely to be on at least 38 states with access to 442 electoral votes.

And signature gathering is ongoing, with another 7 states to fill, including the big ones of KY and VA. If they manage to get all the remaining petitions accepted, they will only be short 43 electoral votes for a total access of 495!

Even after 37 years I cannot predict the outcome of any particular effort. But by election day I expect to be fully vested in Oregon.

my beloved West "by God" Virginia. A while back, the Greens made a smart move by partnering with the Mountain Party here. The MP is a very progressive party and it has ballot access in West Virginia. If the election were held today, Jill would be getting my vote for sure.

GOOD! Stein blows Hellery away debate wise. We need more choices, not the pick between two evils.
