[I was not there, but photos were rampant of his yacht, flying Norwegian king rampant lion-on-red on the aft mast. Nice, few royal yachts are still with us or them.

Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.
I sometimes joke to my wife that the Sons of Norway building in Uptown is really the Sons of Bulgaria building, as Bulgaria has a similar lion. She doesn't appreciate the joke. Plus there aren't too many Bulgarians in Minneapolis. Oh well.
that I have not been to this year, $200K lawsuit for fraud My lawyers prepare. Waterfront cottage, Seaway View, not certificate of occupancy now. Major stressor for me. I am FB-connected to other TI folk. Boatnerds.

That's the personal flag of Queen Frederica of Greece, a descendant of Victoria. She was Princess Frederica of Hanover before her marriage to her cousin through the maternal line, Prince (later King) Paul of Greece, who was a cousin of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, through the paternal line.
Frederica was the mother of Queen Sofia of Spain (Juan Carlos' wife) as well as of the exiled King Constantine II.
This one was fun to research. Yet another reminder of how all of the people in the royal families of Europe are interrelated and intermarried, many times over. Once again, a little immersion into the lives of the "elite". Human beings are such interesting critters, the way we've set all this up.

There are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns – the ones we don't know we don't know.
but her standard, though similar, was a little bit different.
The interrelationships between the European royal houses in the 19th C is indeed fascinating.

Looks like.....
...... Philip, Duke of Edinburgh (as a Greek Prince). His arms and standard as a Briton are somewhat different.

Nope, but it's one of his relatives on the Greek side

Waiting to see if anyone else finds the same answer I did....

Ithaca, NY is something of a memorable time
for me at least. Greece and the rest of the Balkans are a future memorable time.

If you want to visit Ithaca, NY I have room.
And I cook, sometimes.
